I can't get over the hollow looking base mode. This blurry pic seems pretty legit. How will these base modes play into the fiction, or are they only to add additional play value for the toys?

Well, hasbro has gone on the record stating that 'base building' will play a large part in the line, i.e. connecting up leader and titan figures to make huge playsets. Sounds like a unique way to give yourself a cool environment to display your figures in.

Oh I am pretty convinced these are real. Unlike the abominus, we already had a listing for this toy and previous witnesses confirmed it was a retool of Magnus. So this is just the next step in the news chain awaiting a proper reveal. This is real and I am not that fond of it. The only thing that will make me consider buying this toy is if it has an official way to combine with the other Titans return bases.

I assume it will, lost among the remolded plates. I love that they haven't changed the cab, it was so amazing looking, and I am glad that they kept many of the magnus design cues :-D

They totally changed the cab, just not enough for it to be obvious. This is actually one of the big deals with this toy, it has a flat roof with no escape hatch:

Yeah, it may have a similar squinty windshield and big grill, but that is definitely not Ultra Magnus's truck cab.

I'm actually hard-pressed to even recognize any familiar parts from Ultra Magnus on this Optimus. The most I can see are the guns, but that's all I see.

They totally changed the cab, just not enough for it to be obvious. This is actually one of the big deals with this toy, it has a flat roof with no escape hatch:

Still looks mean - and has a new grill, I mean I get it, it needs a new roof for the headmaster; but it still looks epic, the vehicle mode was one of the best things about the magnus mold.

It's not just you, I've seen this comment in a few places today. That said, I don't get it. Here's how I have Magnus hold both guns, in either hand, or either version (Hasbro or Takara):

I can shake the darn things upside down and the guns don't budge. Once the right notches are in the right place, the friction on the hand hinge clamps it down further, and you're good to go.

Oh, yeah, I got him for megs' gun, the figure is okay, it has a cool transformation, but really dumb elbows... but the gun is nice 8-)

3: Not to be rude, but I would suggest improving your grammar. It'll help people take you more seriously.

As for my opinions on all the leaks (I've been in Florida, so I haven't been on wifi that much), I love them. Fort Max looks awesome, an I've always loved the CW Magnus mold, so PM Prime is welcome. Plus, that means we get a leader Optimus to stand up to Leader Megs.

I'm with Scotty here. I too am able to get his gun to stay put with no issues.
And Will, I just grabbed him and bent his elbow back and forth a couple of times and the gun didn't budge.

Huh.

Well, it's intriguing. But as Optimus Prime's go, I'm not sure its what I wanted. And while it doesn't look a thing like him, it's just too close to Ultra Magnus for me. I dunno, I've gotten way picky about my Optius Primes. The CW Prime I like but the whole combiner thing is saying "Hi! I'm here, but you won't use me!" the Beast Hunters was my favorite but that head and he's not the most Classicsverse, I never owned the Prime version, and Evasion Prime is just oo gangly for what I think of. And this... is just too close to Ultra Magnus, who I love and don't want to detract from. Still, it is Prime with a trailer, so...

About 6 weeks ago, we reported on a Walmart computer listing for a possible Generations Powermaster Optimus Prime figure. A poor quality leaked image popped up on the Internet yesterday. How about some official images of Titans Return Leader Class Powermaster Optimus Prime with Autobot Apex, courtesy of our friends at Hasbro!?! Check out the pics further down this page.

This version of the character no longer has a "Powermaster" engine, but instead continues the trend of Titans Return by having a head that transforms. As with Galvatron and Blaster, a "helmet" fits over the standard sized head. The Titan Masters gimmick, which homages the G1 Headmasters concept, enables the line to have large Transformers that transform into bases and vehicles that are compatible with the smaller Titan Masters figures.

This toy is an extremely extensive retool of Combiner Wars Leader Class Ultra Magnus. During a conference call earlier this week, Hasbro stated that there's not much left of the Ultra Magnus toy in the Powermaster Optimus Prime retool.

Powermaster Optimus Prime will be shipped in a case assortment alongside Blaster, who was revealed last month at a Hasbro press event the night before New York Comic-Con. Both figures make up the Titans Return 2016 Wave 1 case assortment.
