@williamjames88 I wondered what was going on with the French. That's a great plan. However my collecting is split between Transformers, Marvel Legends, Lego, and Star Wars, so there's usually new product available at all times that I want, not including backtracking. And frankly I'm not the biggest fan of Max so he probably wouldn't take priority.

Not even the G1 original? Because it's a GREAT thing to have in any TF collection. Try to save/beg as much as you can to get one at clearance price while it's still available. It will be worth every hard earned cents.

And I really don't care about him not having a sword. What would he even use it for?

Well, I'm gonna take a wild shot in the dark here... but I think the use he'd have for a sword would be killing things.

Killing what? Mountains? Giving a city-sized robot an edged weapon to use is only efficient if you want half of your own troops obliterated.

Well, there's this guy called Scorponok.

Who has a gun. And what would be smarter: using roughly 10k tons of metal to make a skyscraper-sized sword to be used on ONE thing by ONE guy, or using it to outfit every single troop in your army a kick-aft laser rifle?

I see. I only collect TFs so my budget can be entirely spent on... my wife and daughter. And the scraps are for TFs. So what I do is make sure that every cent counts. I never buy stuff as soon as it is out unless it is on sale. I always wait for a sale and save up (unless its Takara, in that case its best to preorder). And I price match. And if I buy something, I keep my bill because with TRU (in canada) I am able to get my missed savings back if a toy I bought goes on sale within 45 days of a purchase.
The states has cool options too. Amazon often has amazing deals and you can use that to price match at other places if I am not mistaken. Plus, you can get the latest toys at Hasbro Toy Shop with free shipping and discounted with their monthly offer codes.

So there are lots of options to save money, you just have to be vigilant.

But yes, I do fully agree that this Fort Max doesnt seem to trigger the same necessity Devastator did. That is a nice chunk of change I am sure you could spend on some nice Marvel Legends :) I am just waiting for him to be 50$ at Costco. So far, it never failed for the titan class.

Just noticed that the ramps hanging off the back of the arms on Fort Max are the exact same ramps that fold out of the legs on Metroplex. This really bugs me for some reason.

Why? They share some of the base mold designs.

In the long run......to all FANS

Please continue supporting the Cityformer class line of Titans Returns/Legends

If you drop your support, this disincentivizes Hasbro and TT from releasing more lines of this class.

Don't let one input scare you from getting this.

Though each one of us want to get a bargain but if you wait for the product to fall in price first instead of getting it at it's original price.......same reason from my bold post............no more Cityformers.

I dont agree with this at all. We are not all made of money. We will not buy anything because we have to. If companies want to survive they have to evolve to produce what people will buy. If we vote with our wallets and all decide not to buy this giant retool, then they will find more innovative ways to give us products we would buy. Thats how it works. Blindly buying only encourages more mediocrity. Look at the Michael Bay live action movies for proof of this. They dont care what we think about them, they only care if we buy the ticket and so far, everyone still does, so they dont have to change anything.

And plus Hasbro already planned the budget for the next 2-3 years of titan class figures, so if this one doesnt work out, they can hope the next one is recieved better.

And if the line isn't successful, the next stockholder meeting can pull the plug on the Cityformer class.

This is reality. Multinational conglomerates depends on the "brand loyalty". Sometimes it may be blind but it's the number of "blind"suckers......consumers that makes or breaks a product. The so called planned budget you mentioned for the next 2 to 3 years is fickle. Depends on how the "critical mass" was reached. If it reached good (sale target reached), then the budget stands if not, companies will "ax us".

Then we hear complaints like why was TFA Omega Supreme wasn't released? Then we hear complaints why 3rd party companies are raeping Hb's IP. Why doesn't Hb take risks with lines like Cityformers etc etc?

Plain and simple.

That's cool and all, and if you're happy with it, then more power to you, but I don't think that I'm alone in thinking that hasbro could do more than this. They've gotten noticeably stingy on both paint apps and quality plastic of late, and I don't think that I'm alone in thinking that we deserve at least a little better for how much more we're paying for figures nowadays. Now, maybe you don't agree with me on this sentiment, but there's absolutely nothing that you can say to change my experiences that have led me here. Either way, enjoy your Fort Max.

Then that's minus one fan. One less sale for Hb. So hopefully ten more will take your place (or else Hb will "ax us"). And I'm getting the TT version btw. Plenty of time to save. More time to enjoy him.

Here is the deal, fans just have to decide if they would rather have city formers they dislike or have no city formers at all. Me, if my options were to either spend 150$ on a city former I did not feel was worth it or not get a city former, I would rather just not get one.

Then high quality TFs could be just a Takara thing. Oh wait, thats th case right now. Yeah, not worried >:oP I am voting with my wallet and encourage everyone else to do so. If you dont like something you dont need to buy it. Or simply not at full price >:oP

This. This is the whole point, habsro doesn't give us (many) figures that could be considered 'high quality' anymore, and that's my whole problem with all of this (though TT is far from perfect in my eyes despite this) Why should I pay, and encourage them giving us substandard figures, when I could pay the same amount for a far better figure?

Same answer. Hopefully, with minus two lost potential customers, 10 more will take the place. To ensure the survival of the line. For those unable to get the Encore, can get and enjoy this Fortmax

No critical mass sale, no more line. I also raised a similar point with "naked" Metroplex and Legends Metroflex. Were the sales good enough to reach critical mass that we now have this next batch of Cityformers?

Just looking into the bigger picture in the future. I hope and pray the Cityformer release will be encouraging enough for Hb to really release Trypticon.

Myabe if Hasbro really wanted this line to flourish, they wouldn't give us a repainted metroplex with a crap 'city mode' and missing most of the things that makes me think of Fort Max. Maybe, if they hadn't designed the head around the electronics, they could've use that part of the budget to give him an actual city mode. Sorry, I won't pay $150+ for a substandard crap mold. Trypticon is already being made, the other 2 theoretically have some work done on them, and they are all likely to get unique molds, maybe we'll vote with our wallets and get them, but I won't pay msrp for Fort Max, sorry >:oP

In Japanese continuity, the sword is the very thing that even allows him to become Fortress Maximus. Without it, Fortress can't activate the Big Mode transformation of his battleship Maximus and combine with it.

Your arguments are the same people are using to say why we should be dependent on fossil fuels. No, the world moves on. You can make money by being innovative. Takara isnt bankrupt. And no reason to worry for trypticon, they pumped enough resources into it that you can be sure they will release it. Its already part of their release schedule. Please stop pulling a chicken little on us. The world wont be ending anytime soon. To be fully optimistic here, the states will have another huge stock crash within the next 5 years so the odds are far more in your favour of american fans not getting new TFs because they cant afford them rather than because they arent being produced. yay

Who's forcing who? read my post. Minus two hopefully 10 more will take the place. And if you are pining your hopes that the same quantity of Trypticons will be released will not be dependent on the number of the other Cityformers sales is standing of shaky grounds.

If the sales aren't "good", then the figures will be limited and even limited in distribution to only certain parts of the world where it will be sold at a premium (cough....Asia).

The USA isn't the prime target for first dibs/release items of consumer goods anymore. Whether it be petrol products, electronic products or disposable income products like toys.

In Japanese continuity, the sword is the very thing that even allows him to become Fortress Maximus. Without it, Fortress can't activate the Big Mode transformation of his battleship Maximus and combine with it.

I think one is approaching this from the standpoint of fiction, and the other from the standpoint of rationale, not saying you're wrong, because the TT release would certainly feel lacking without it, but it does make sense to at least ask the question :-P

To be fully optimistic here, the states will have another huge stock crash within the next 5 years so the odds are far more in your favour of american fans not getting new TFs because they cant afford them rather than because they arent being produced. yay

Now were getting on fossil fuels schtick?

Answer me this, so called renewable fuels industry is highly subsidized. They are cheap because the Feds keep it cheap. Remove the subsidy. And the prices go up the roof. You still willing to pay the extra cost to decrease your carbon footprint?

Fossil fuel technology is cheap and currently existing. The renewable tech isn't that "economical yet". You own a Prius? It cost more than the regular gas guzzler. But those so called battery powered cars still gets plug to the AC/DC outlet which still gets at least 70% of the energy from "fossil fuel" sources.

Push for what you want. Don't buy stuff if you're not about it. No harm in asking for better quality figures and abstaining from buying ones that aren't up to a decent standard. Blindly buying regardless of quality to "keep 'em coming" seems crazy to me.

If you like it, cool. If not, that's cool too.

I dig TR Fort Max's bot mode a lot. His other modes are totally "meh", but I'm not convinced we can't finagle something decent out of him yet. I think once people play around with him we might see some cool city modes. Who knows.

I believe that was you, insisting and guilt-tripping everyone into buying a retooled titan class figure.

I said from the start that we should all buy what we like. I'm only explaining how I (and many other's) feel; since he was revealed, a good portion of the fan base has seemed to feel pretty letdown that this legendary figure is being splurged out as a half-a$$ed retool, and I don't blame them. I was only trying to show how it could've been done differently to better enhance his reception - if it had to be a retool of Metroplex.

Your faulty biased analysis according to me. Just as two "seibertron.com" staff are also subliminally discouraging members to see things their way as in not to buy the Fortmax product.

Open to interpretation from both sides.

Guilt tripping or a logical analysis. I am seeing things in the economical side of things. Economics 101. The most boring, yawn inducing not guilt tripping of all subjects.

Did I mention blindly buying? Again, remove the "emotion" and logically review Economics 101. You'll see what I mean related to how a product gets successfully made and how extrinsic factors may also be the products' downfall.

I know there's a pictorial written review of Fort Max up from someone in Australia, seeing as the figure is now out in retail there, but just wondered if anyone has found a video review of the figure yet?

Two, there probably wasn't enough room for the budget on account of the deluxe-scaled Cerebro. I mean let's face it, Cerebros is a bit more important to Fort Max than a bunch of superfluous guns.

Speaking of that guy called Scorponok, I think they should be making a Titan Class figure of him before Trypticon. I'm more of a Fort Max and Scorponok fan than a Metroplex and Trypticon fan. I'm still kinda bitter that Trypticon won the fan vote over Scorponok. (I'm not sure if that was on-topic or not....)

Personally I'm good with it because like, then Metroplex would be left waiting even longer for his rival. Trypticon deserves his chance and it'll be nice to have him as a change of pace from the humanoid cityformers. Scorponok is cool and all, but he ain't a giant t-rex that turns into a city.

That's what I'm thinking. I bet the legs could be positioned upright to look like towers at least.
