@williamjames88 I wondered what was going on with the French. That's a great plan. However my collecting is split between Transformers, Marvel Legends, Lego, and Star Wars, so there's usually new product available at all times that I want, not including backtracking. And frankly I'm not the biggest fan of Max so he probably wouldn't take priority.

And I really don't care about him not having a sword. What would he even use it for?
Well, I'm gonna take a wild shot in the dark here... but I think the use he'd have for a sword would be killing things.
Killing what? Mountains? Giving a city-sized robot an edged weapon to use is only efficient if you want half of your own troops obliterated.
Well, there's this guy called Scorponok.

I dont agree with this at all. We are not all made of money. We will not buy anything because we have to. If companies want to survive they have to evolve to produce what people will buy. If we vote with our wallets and all decide not to buy this giant retool, then they will find more innovative ways to give us products we would buy. Thats how it works. Blindly buying only encourages more mediocrity. Look at the Michael Bay live action movies for proof of this. They dont care what we think about them, they only care if we buy the ticket and so far, everyone still does, so they dont have to change anything.
And plus Hasbro already planned the budget for the next 2-3 years of titan class figures, so if this one doesnt work out, they can hope the next one is recieved better.

And if the line isn't successful, the next stockholder meeting can pull the plug on the Cityformer class.
This is reality. Multinational conglomerates depends on the "brand loyalty". Sometimes it may be blind but it's the number of "blind"suckers......consumers that makes or breaks a product. The so called planned budget you mentioned for the next 2 to 3 years is fickle. Depends on how the "critical mass" was reached. If it reached good (sale target reached), then the budget stands if not, companies will "ax us".
Then we hear complaints like why was TFA Omega Supreme wasn't released? Then we hear complaints why 3rd party companies are raeping Hb's IP. Why doesn't Hb take risks with lines like Cityformers etc etc?
Plain and simple.

That's cool and all, and if you're happy with it, then more power to you, but I don't think that I'm alone in thinking that hasbro could do more than this. They've gotten noticeably stingy on both paint apps and quality plastic of late, and I don't think that I'm alone in thinking that we deserve at least a little better for how much more we're paying for figures nowadays. Now, maybe you don't agree with me on this sentiment, but there's absolutely nothing that you can say to change my experiences that have led me here. Either way, enjoy your Fort Max.

Here is the deal, fans just have to decide if they would rather have city formers they dislike or have no city formers at all. Me, if my options were to either spend 150$ on a city former I did not feel was worth it or not get a city former, I would rather just not get one.
Then high quality TFs could be just a Takara thing. Oh wait, thats th case right now. Yeah, not worriedI am voting with my wallet and encourage everyone else to do so. If you dont like something you dont need to buy it. Or simply not at full price

Same answer. Hopefully, with minus two lost potential customers, 10 more will take the place. To ensure the survival of the line. For those unable to get the Encore, can get and enjoy this Fortmax
No critical mass sale, no more line. I also raised a similar point with "naked" Metroplex and Legends Metroflex. Were the sales good enough to reach critical mass that we now have this next batch of Cityformers?
Just looking into the bigger picture in the future. I hope and pray the Cityformer release will be encouraging enough for Hb to really release Trypticon.

In Japanese continuity, the sword is the very thing that even allows him to become Fortress Maximus. Without it, Fortress can't activate the Big Mode transformation of his battleship Maximus and combine with it.Microraptor wrote:And I really don't care about him not having a sword. Myabe if Hasbro really wanted this line to flourish, they wouldn't give us a repainted metroplex with a crap 'city mode' and missing most of the things that makes me think of Fort Max. Maybe, if they hadn't designed the head around the electronics, they could've use that part of the budget to give him an actual city mode. Sorry, I won't pay $150+ for a substandard crap mold. Trypticon is already being made, the other 2 theoretically have some work done on them, and they are all likely to get unique molds, maybe we'll vote with our wallets and get them, but I won't pay msrp for Fort Max, sorry

Your arguments are the same people are using to say why we should be dependent on fossil fuels. No, the world moves on. You can make money by being innovative. Takara isnt bankrupt. And no reason to worry for trypticon, they pumped enough resources into it that you can be sure they will release it. Its already part of their release schedule. Please stop pulling a chicken little on us. The world wont be ending anytime soon. To be fully optimistic here, the states will have another huge stock crash within the next 5 years so the odds are far more in your favour of american fans not getting new TFs because they cant afford them rather than because they arent being produced. yay

I believe that was you, insisting and guilt-tripping everyone into buying a retooled titan class figure.
I said from the start that we should all buy what we like. I'm only explaining how I (and many other's) feel; since he was revealed, a good portion of the fan base has seemed to feel pretty letdown that this legendary figure is being splurged out as a half-a$$ed retool, and I don't blame them. I was only trying to show how it could've been done differently to better enhance his reception - if it had to be a retool of Metroplex.

If you like it, cool. If not, that's cool too.
I dig TR Fort Max's bot mode a lot. His other modes are totally "meh", but I'm not convinced we can't finagle something decent out of him yet. I think once people play around with him we might see some cool city modes. Who knows.

Speaking of that guy called Scorponok, I think they should be making a Titan Class figure of him before Trypticon. I'm more of a Fort Max and Scorponok fan than a Metroplex and Trypticon fan. I'm still kinda bitter that Trypticon won the fan vote over Scorponok. (I'm not sure if that was on-topic or not....)
