Hasbro doesn't use IP-stealing 3rd party molds. Hasbro makes its own molds.

look alike! LOOK ALIKE! THEY'RE FROM THE SAME BLOODY MOLD PAL!(albeit with a bit of a retool) or are you just willing to refuse to accept it because it's ME that your talking to? coz had it been someone else that had made a similar comment....then you might've said something along the lines of "y'know...you could be right about that"(or certainly a more positive response) & then proceed to proverbially pat them on the back.
Enough!
Hasbro has not, do not, and will not use 3p molds for figures. They create these designs in-house, from scratch, with help from TT. That they both happen to look like the source material is probably because, both hasbro and 3p companies understand the value therein.
No one is picking on you, you're bringing this on yourself by continually throwing this claim around. No one else is saying this, in fact, everyone is unanimously trying to explain why you're wrong, but you're obviously not listening to any of their well-reasoned arguments.
This is not a 3p mold.

Between the fact that I already have the incredible Voyager Brainstorm, and retool burnout from Combiner Wars, I think I'll pass on this one. I'm planning to get Blurr, so I don't see a reason to pick up this figure.

Dude, no. You're just wrong. They're not using the same mold, they're using similar character models, that's all.
Unless you can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Hasbro is using a 3P mold. In which case, I'm sure many of us who have said you're wrong will stand corrected and apologise accordingly.

So we finally get a voyager astrotrain, galvatron and the first toy of sentinel prime and they're bloody headmasters when they've never been headmasters before. So annoyed.

Looking to swap a takara Titan class fortress maximus head for a Hasbro US retail Titan fortress maximus head.

It's basically for the fans that do like the headmaster line, so that they can have a display with them all in scale, at least they gave us the option to go this route instead of having one towering over the others

And if it was the "same mold" they would transform very similar which will not be the case.

I'm just happy to get a brainstorm that will actually see wide release, unlike the voyager one. It'll be cool to actually pick up a brainstorm figure in stores with a headmaster gimmick that (hopefully) is fully functional this time around.

I don't understand all the whining about the headmasters. If you don't like the gimmick, all you have to do is just not take their head off. That's it.

I've had over clocking In my hand and I've seen the full pic of Titan returns blurr in hand and I tell you With 100% fact that they are not even remotely the same mold. Over clocking is also a voyager/ mp scale while tr blurr is a deluxe. They're completely different molds.

Great characters like galvatron, sentinel prime and astrotrain shouldn't be headmasters in the first place. They shouldn't be involved in this line. It's a massive disappointment to wait for these characters to then be stuck with a gimmick I've always hated.

That is very true, burn why don't we have an hugging emoticon?
Stu, it's clear now that your only doing this to try and start arguments just so you can try and be the problem user on that site, but you're more coming off as that cranky kid who just won't have a nap and is ready to drop at any moment.
Anyway, ah yes the issue of bots being titanmasters, another old favourite. I'm not bothered by this, but if you don't like it then just don't buy it, or buy it and keep the head on. Them not being headmasters only matters to us adult collectors (and even then not all of us) not to hasbro, so we are making an issue of something that is in the eye of the beholder.

Sentinel prime was bad ass in megatron origins I loved his power suit like iron man. He valiantly stood against but was ultimately viciously killed by megatron. He was a good predecessor in his nature to optimus and came off really well.
I always liked astrotrain in g1 and idw have given him a nice new lease of life as the grumpy sarcastic transport. I just don't think these characters deserve to be stained by being headmasters.

So they have a removable head, how is that 'being stained'? For every person out there against headmasters is another who maybe grew up with them, and has been hoping for these figures, and gimmick to make a comeback

1 - There's a bunch of Headmaster characters that haven't received modern (licensed) updates ... why utilise a character that was never a Headmaster?
2 - Astrotrain already has a modern update. Why another one?
(Same could be said for Galvatron but I know his modern update is disliked more than duragrip)

Except later we find out that Sentinel was a nasty, dictatorial thug who had his predecessor Nominus Prime assassinated and was responsible for several crimes and murders. So the final battle between him and Megatron wasn't a "hero vs villain" fight but a "villain vs villain" one.Prowl4 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Sentinel Prime and Astrotrain are "great characters"? As I said above if you read my comments, the characters mentioned never have been headmasters. Galvatron idw states his hatred for headmasters.
It stains the characters by having a crap gimmick that they never had previously. They're their own character not some body being piloted.
I've no problem with the likes of brainstorm and chromedome and the likes who've always been headmasters to make a return but to make characters like galvatron, sentinel, astrotrain, scourge and blurr into headmasters is hugely disappointing.

I can understand that a bit. I wondered when I first saw TR Optimus Prime and especially when I read that his Headmaster is Apex and not Orion Pax. First I wondered in general how he could be a Headmaster. And for Galvatron it would have been cool if his Headmaster would have been Megatron in G1 homage. Yeah, Nucleon looks like Megs but why don't they call him Megatron?

To be fair, all of the old classics figures have (mostly) gotten proper updates. Plus, I need myself a stormbringer astrotrain.
But, come on, the series hasn't even started yet, I'm sure if goes to 4+ waves, they'll have time to get as many of the headmasters out as possible. Just give them some time

Great characters like galvatron, sentinel prime and astrotrain shouldn't be headmasters in the first place.
So they have a removable head, how is that 'being stained' for every person out there against headmasters is another who maybe grew up with them, and has been hoping for these figures, and gimmick to make a comeback
So, rid, armada, energon, and cybertron are all garbage because they designed the figures around a central gimmick... I mean, they took G1 Grimlock and made him a raptor in BW, is he forever stained now

I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.
