The surge of excitement when I have been seeing these guys in stores has been awesome. The surge from getting Fort Max at a great price yesterday made me really giddy. Pictures of the coming figures makes me really happy. This whole line is amazing

I was inspired this evening, after finally finding Brainstorm, to take a few group shots of the four most famous Autobot Headmasters. I just shot these things in my office, which has a burned out light bulb in the ceiling fixture, with my iPhone 6S Plus. In other words, these aren't the greatest examples of skilled photography, but I want to share them anyway.

It started here when Autobot N casually dropped that he didn't like The Last Knight Hot Rod because he didn't resemble the character of Hot Rod at all. Deadput understood that he was talking about TLK Hot Rod and said he wasn't meant for a G1 collection anyway. This went back and forth a bit.

I don't have a movie collection and a G1 collection. All of my stuff is blended into one single collection. I pick up what I think looks good, and since I don't like this design (because it looks nothing like G1), I'll pass on Movie HR's figure.

Then you stepped in and misinterpreted the meaning of "Movie Hot Rod"

Seriously, read that again and tell me that doesnt sound like you are deciding what we should do with our toys. You are free to say what you want to do with them and where you intend on placing them, but it really sounds here like you were imposing your thoughts on others. Thats not what you mean, but that is very much what it reads like. So lets all stay friendly, and simply watch that our words actually reflect what we mean.

Look sorry about the whole me forcing people what to choose which is not my intention I just wondered why you would not put a toy with it's supposed collection I mean yeah freedom of choice but I think it's strange.

TL;DR Autobot N made a side jab at TLK Hot Rod which deadput thought was odd and that went back and forth and you exacerbated things.

All classes release at their own rate, they do not need to sync up precisely by assortment number, at least not with the same precision as the Combiner Wars figures. In fact, in my experience, corresponding wave products from different size classes have seldom, if ever, appeared on shelves at the same time. The smaller stuff shows up first, then the deluxes, then voyagers, then leaders. Almost every time.

Talking of which, in the local Entertainer over here; they weren't stocking Legends figures for ages. The first time I saw them was last Friday when I went in to get Weirdwolf - they were stocking Wave 2 TR Deluxes, which meant the Legends they were stocking were...
CW Wave 5! Of course! Tried to nab Buzzsaw and Chop Shop but they were pricier than the tag indicated.

I'd love to get ahold of Walgreens Brainstorm, but being a Brit makes that....... difficult.

I'm starting to think HotRod may work well as PointBlank...

Meh. Cerebros is a whiney pacifist. He only gets his act together when Spike can call the shots. Fortress Maximus just shows up briefly in the twilight hours of the original series anyway. (Let's just forget about the Japanese series for now. That's the only way my argument works). The four who really got the spotlight in "The Rebirth" are all accounted for above. As for Optimus Prime and Megatron, they're only "Headmasters" come lately. Powermaster Optimus Prime was a Powermaster in G1. Hi-Q became his engine block, not his head. Megatron was still Galvatron at that point, and he never upgraded at all.

I would say those four are the most "standard" Autobot Headmasters. as "famous" is very much up for debate. Even in The Rebirth, Chromedome (who was 2nd in Command in the Japanese HM series) got very little screen time or dialogue, and lets not forget Arcee who had probably more dialogue and screen time than 3 of those 4. david Wise had the nigh impossible task of introducing the entire 1987 toy line (sans Duocons) in 3 episodes. So glad japan decided to make HM and what came after. Still I would love to have seen how a 5 part Rebirth would have turned out, plus it would have given the original series an even 100 episode count.

while I have not seen Brainstorm, the others in the same assortment are going for $17.99 US, at least for me in CA. I have found Chromedome and Mindwipe. There are a ton of Wall-Greens around my area though, checking a couple each day depending on where I am.

At least it all makes sense now. the $17.99 is a "all new lower price" I thought...in comparison to what? (certainly not Target or Wal-Mart) at least now I know they are comparing with WG previous price. Hoopefully the rest of you start to see this slightly lower price as well, at least for those of you who want Brainstorm, as the others will be at major chains soon enough I'd imagine

it looks like its still up to the licensee to put the price. I know TRUs are all corporate owned (right?) and thus a deal at one would be found at another, but I am not sure that applies to Walgreens, where the prices dont have to be the same from store to store. Pharmacies usually work thta way since they are owned individually by a pharmacist. If anyone wants to correct me on that, by all means.

Having TR Brainstorm, Highbrow, and Hardhead would go great with a Takara Legends Chromedome.

As a random thing, I really want a voyager Rodimus Prime. Just sayin.

Just get the MP Hot Rodimus, you cant get a more perfect Classics Rodimus Prime that that (you can even insert the matrix in him to literally turn him conceptually into Rodimus Prime).

Those are 2 different things. The release date isnt equal to the time you will see it on shelves. For example, the release date of Wave 2 was around August 15th but they didnt appear on shelves until later. The release date for wave 3 online should be mid to late november. But that in no way predicts when they will show up on shelves.

If Wave 2 was released mid august and still hasnt hit TRU or Walmart yet (and I believe Soundwave has yet to be found at retail), then I highly doubt we will see wave 3 hit any of those stores before 2017.

True, they probably won't hit your local retail stores on the release date. However, online retailers will either get them on, or around, the release date or they'll offer pre-orders.

THANK YOU! Don't know why so many praise that guy so much. Cerebros was the most annoying thing in the entire Rebirth saga. Dude wouldn't stop complaining and whining in almost every single piece of dialogue he ever had.

I'll take Takara's generic leader type Fortress character over that nuisance any day.

I like his IDW take though. And I am a sucker for Faceplates

I don't think anyone really liked Cerebros in The Rebirth, they just like Fortress Maximus, and yes of course in Headmasters, Fortress was way better.
