God, I hate that shrapnel. Kills the legends Insecticons for me. Refuse to buy that crap again so I'll have the other two. Meh.

Might end up buying prime. I still don't have a chug prime. Keep buying and selling every one. Pmop was real good but I ended up flipping him. Ugly grey plastic. Real nice toy and all.

Or better yet, make him a staple character of the series like Starscream or Bumblebee.

That would be interesting, like how RID made Windblade a staple character, and how Drift is now a staple character.

Besides, Sunstorm is considerably cooler than either Windblade or Drift.

But eh, to me Sunstorm is much cooler as one of the more obscure B-villains. Not something to be as big as Shockwave or Overlord.

I didnt think AOE did Drift any wrong. And both of them are pretty fun in RID.

That was what my joke was getting at

But to be fair, lets not be mean to poor AOE Drift, I am sure many kids found him cool, and I myself liked him simply because the alt mode, robot design and triple changing nature was fun. I am sure many of us here loved Darth Maul as younglings and the only thing George Lucas gave that character to work with was Qui Gon Jin's body. Many characters that we have found cool in the past have had just about as much substance as AOE Drift (who had way more screen time than Boba Fett )

I'd love it if the Leaders weren't $50 - but considering where the price points are today, it's still up to the consumer if it's worth it.

I certainly don't consider $50 chump change, but I do allow my 3 y/o son transform/play with CW Leader Megatron -- he has yet to see any MPs!

Its not chump change. But its not a price hasbro expects everyone to pay either, especially when they themselves give us reductions on those products at HTS. The only 2 leaders I ever spent 40$ on were Ultra Magnus and Blaster and I thought it was money well spent. I bought the Seekers, Megs, Jetfire, Soundwave and PMOP for $20-$30 and while I found jetfire and PMOP to be quite rewarding, the rest definitely felt subpar and limited. Those seekers arent worth $50, especially when Hasbro never botherd to change the tooling on top of the jet mode, along with the lack of chrome and paint on the back which jetfire had (and the feeling of things being quite opportunistic). But, like I said, these toys dont need to be purchased for $50 unless you want them straight away, and Hasbro is aware.

One thing I will give Hasbro, these leader toys are great for kids with their simplicity and durability. I was playing with my 13 month old this week-end with CW Leader Megs, some seekers and Leader Soundwave and she had a blaster. She liked how sturdy they were and how she could pull on limbs and twist them around. Only Megatron suffered slightly from her wrath since he is the only one with enough paint to warrant a scrath
And them being simple to transform meant I could do it in a flash and she could experience both modes differently without much time to wait. In vehicle mode, she liked pulling and pushing the tank cannon, and in robot mode she liked flipping his chest up and down a lot.

Good times. I guess these are what the leader class is for after all, Budget MP scaled figures for kids.

And I am one to talk, I bought Soundwave to go with both my MPs and Classics. I have the MP mold but not in this nice blue colour, so when I want to do a g1 group shot, that leader does the trick.

I plan to get TR Soundwave to go in my MP display. Maybe someday I'll have enough money to fit MP's into the budget, then I can give TR Soundwave to a kid or something.

I like fiddling with him and transforming him. I like seeing that trailer come together. I still think he isnt the best thing but for 20$, he's rewarding on a dollar to value ratio. More so than the seekers. You only saw me tearing it a new asshole when he was suggested as being one of the best retools. He isnt. But he's still fun in his own right.

I think we are due for a brand new Starscream mold. Not a cheap repaint or retool, but a brand new mold. Hell, I could probally even accept it as a headmaster.

I'm very close to wanting to get Megatron, as I really like that mold, but I want Blitzwing too.

**** that Optimus though. I'll only add it to the Prime collection if I find it on a hot sale.

I totally feel this way about Sentinel Prime - not the most imposing guy thanks to his height, but I do like fiddling with him.
