Perhaps there is a Boxed set Character idea in there somewhere - I still think the only way we will get Steeljaw is in a boxed set due to their reluctance to use an Autobot Steeljaw in the main line to avoid confusion with RID's Decepticon Steeljaw.

If they pop in the like of Rosanna into a boxed set that would be a good idea - I wouldn't mind if they keep making tablets/Data Pads especially if they give them Dinosaur alt modes for 2018.

I'd not mind at all if one of the giftsets they did was Soundblaster and one was Twincast either - as if they brand it for Prime Wars 3.0 then there is no real clash with the Titanmaster names as they are then the "replacements" to the previous line and maybe - just maybe they can squirrel a Ratbat toy in there someplace too.

I won't hold my breath for the obscure ideas though like a Scorpion or Crocodile data-Pad. (Though i'd also have liked a Crocodile Titanmaster-accessory too)

Remember how whenever they made Movie giftsets they were always the same thing (Characters) in slightly different colours - the advantage of the Data-pads is they can repaint them & make them different characters for example if they did do a Ratbat that could also be Skar or Wingthing,
Ravage can also be Catgut, Howlback, Glit.
Laserbeak could be Sundor, Garboil, Cro, Sights, Rav, Screech or Gangetsu,
Stripes could be Angela, Lioniser & Steeljaw.

And so on for all the others... ( I didn't want to list all the possibilities or we'd be here all night)

I get the impression Takara has the ability to set themselves up for some really cool gift sets.

For example they have no reason NOT to release Steeljaw in some way or other since it's technically different to Ravage - they have shown in the past an interest in release the same mould in pairs.

So perhaps when the time is right there will be a pair of clone gift packs and perhaps also Rewind & Eject & Rumble & Frenzy too.

Shame there isn't a Ramhorn data pad to offer the full effect.

Hasbro said they're only available in the box sets. Takara, however, might give us a different option...but we don't know yet.

Hey come on, we got two Blitzwings only four years apart, two Brainstorms only two years apart, the third new Windblade mold in three years and these will be the third and fourth Primes to be released in Titans Returns alone. That... seems entirely plausible. We'll have to see if other boxsets have their planet leaders (Eukaris? Caminus?) to see if that holds water. For Siege on Cybertron you could make the claim that Optimus is the leader; and even Metalhawk had a role in its leadership in IDW...

Very much so. The Autobot and Decepticon Clones were fairly simple toys even by 1987 standards, because the gimmick was meant to be that identical robots could turn into two different alt modes, which was pretty high-falutin' for the time. Fastlane's dragster mode was him lying down with his toes tucked down, his arms folded up, and a spoiler folded over his head, and this figure replicates that gleefully.

IDW seems to be Hasbro's third-pillar when it comes to toy marketing now, along with RiD and nostalgia (at least until the movie line rolls out) whereas Cybertron is in that weird sweet spot where it's recent enough to have good articulation and not old enough to induce nostalgia/ Stranger things have happened, but I doubt this was ever planned to be Override.

(and yeah, I know that a version of Override appears in IDW comics, but we all know that's not the deal here)

On the subject of the box sets, quick question: Magnus Prime is listed on the wiki as a toy of Ginrai's transector after it became an independent being. Did Hasbro say something about that, or...?

Actually, talking of the Leader figure... we've got to consider what options we have.

The Leader molds we have available are Powermaster Optimus Prime, Sixshot, Blaster/Soundwave, Sky Shadow/Overlord... and Godbomber.

Since I highly doubt they'd have the same Leader mold shared between two sets - hence crossing off a re-use of Sixshot and PM OP - that leaves a re-use of Blaster/Soundwave (Soundblaster and Twincast being obvious options), a re-use of Sky Shadow/Overlord (people have brainstormed so many options here, the top ones being Thunderwing and Dai Atlas) or a western release of Godbomber.

I think Godbomber in one of the sets is starting to look even more likely guys. 2 leader spots left and 3 leaders competing for a spot. This is gonna get exciting

I was just thinking the same thing, I doubt we will get both twincast and Soundblaster. Also Doubt thunderwing since he's already a tm, so Dai Atlas or maybe starsaber (because of the fanvote) is likely.
Godbomber would be great though. I really don't want to pay import costs for one.

At the risk of pedantry, Godbomber isn't a leader class mold. He's in-between western price classes. Though that means that if he gets released at all in the west it's most likely to be in a box set.

Wonder how that will affect the tm ports on the bodies, I already feel like the tm heads are straining some of the tighter ports on the bigger bodies, and metal is pretty unyielding
