I've spent the last 2 months trying to find preceptor and topspin, I have 18 walgreens within 20 miles and it's all brainstorms and wave 2 so I finally said "save the gas, order them" I'll probably find both this week while shopping when I'm off because that's always what happens.

I can wait on Quake. I want him too but he's one I can wait and grab eventually.

I tend to favor the '84-'86 G1 characters, but Krok and Quake both have great colors, and the original Quake is one of the few post-movie figures on my G1 wishlist.

I was planning on skipping Krok, only because I already have the TFCC one. But since the whole lineup was available in a set I just grabbed them all. It's not like I don't have multiples of a ton of other guys.

I was going to skip Quake, but those colors and dat headsculpt looked too good -- and I like the mold a lot.

Just got an email these guys are instock and almost ready to go!

So $90+ for 5 deluxe figures that are normally just $15 at retail, 1 of which I don't even want but since retail has been so crummy this year makes it's a gamble to pass on.

They're pretty much 15.29-16.99 everywhere.

Each figure from BBTS comes out to be $18 a piece. So $1-2 more a figure. Not really a huge mark up. You'll spend way more than $5-10 in gas searching.

So I just got off the phone with my 2 local TRU's, and not only did they never get the Chaos on velocitron set, but they are not ordering it in because Fort Max hasn't sold at either location. They each have 5 Fort Max's, some of which have been sitting in the stores since before Black Friday.

and also checking, the closest TRU with the set in stock is 5 hours away, and the set is not available to be ordered online. And I have a 15% off coupon and actual money to buy it with now.

Yea I constantly see FM at a bunch of local TRUs. To my knowledge, they haven't yet discounted it either.

That tends to be the logic these days but the hunt is only secondary for me while running errands, meaning that I only go in the Toy section at Target only because I was getting a Frappe from Starbucks on my way to work this morning anyway...Or after I've grabbed about $80 in groceries from a Super Walmart will I venture off to their toy aisle to see what's there (usually nothing new though)

So to be honest, I've been getting most of my TF figures from BBTS, Amazon and HTS the last 8 months. But I will call out Online companies when they play these games. Plus I only want 4 of these (they can keep Kup) which is only $60. So $30 will be going in the tank in this case.

Ah, messing around with Shuffler made me think: Hey, he's a sort of H-tank, he almost looks like Quake, and the HH/Quake mold can do that gerwalk/four legged-tank mode... someone could hypothetically make a deluxe shuffler.


And now I really want that to happen.

Yeah, TRU in the US is the absolute worst at discounting older toys. Case in point, One near my work still has a singe CW Ironhide and Mirage, priced at something ridiculous like $26, while the TR deluxes are at $19-$22. WTF!

yeah. if you can remove the pins then do it. if not and its a case like megs where you can take most of it off and unscrew the legs then it should work.

this is what i did
anything you dont want to have paint put on cover it TIGHTLY!

I know that online ordering is a huge part of consumerism these days, but I just thought it would be nice if pretty much all stores, including TRU would communicate with one another as to what toys were in stock and exchange items. They would not have ot pay extra for shipping, just include them on the regular trucks as they come in and out.

I'm sure there are plenty of people right now that still want Fort Max, while they sit on shelves at other stores. Two of my local TRU's now have the Velocitron set (3 in one location, one at the other), while several of you still want it. Instead of allowing fans to be scalpers and redistribute the product, TRU should do it themselves (redistribute I mean...).

Also, I guess Easter is getting to be a bigger toy-selling Holiday than I ever thought. Many stores I go into look like the post-xmas war zone of depleted product and messy shelves. The same Target where I got Six Shot a few weeks back, and saw TR Voyager Prime & Megaton just got in stock a Voyager CW Silverbolt & Motormaster ???

He also provided instructions for how to do this:

It's fairly simple. You'll need to remove screws to separate Movie Breakaway's torso and remove the head. The latter was difficult despite the neck being on a mushroom joint that should slide right out; mine may have been stuck? Then once that's gone TR Throttle pretty much just plugs in as is. It's a loose fit for Throttle's head/Breakaway's neck, so I had to use some poster tack. Note that I've also removed Throttle's arms for now as it seems to let Breakaway's shoulders close more flush in vehicle mode (it seems to work but I'll check if there's much of a difference with them on).

I really love this mold. I'm glad they used it for such a nice color scheme (that slate blue!), and while Hot Shot's head looks nice on its own I'm glad Getaway can now have his own face.

Nicely done! I, of course, sold that version of Getaway a while back.

Well dangit, I have the mold, but I passed on the new TR one.

Though, maybe I can cause some trouble and put someone elses head there.. hmm...

It's ok, but lets not get too deep into it.

We do have a great customs forum you know. There is a stickied thread that is all about tips, tricks, and help. Feel free to start a thread if you have lots of specific questions too.

And Bee, I encourage you to start a thread for that nice looking Megatron you've painted. Take lots of pics, and go nuts! Might even make the round up.

EDIT: Also MagicDeath, I learned pin removal from watching vids on youtube. Lots of good ones with tips on the right tools and techniques too.
