yeah I was thinking mostly about scramble type combiners from the original series, but yeah...Hasbro did not produce Combiner box sets for Bruticus, Predaking, Abominus, or Monstructor, and their Piranacon only had 5 of the 6 Seacons (Takara's had all 6...)

I understand I'm being a little paranoid when it comes to TR Trypticon. Honestly, because of lack of funds I probably wont get it *at first sight*, but, since TRU is most likely where I will see it, I can put it on layaway

.

I would love to be fortunate enough to be one of those people who sees it at TJMaxx or some other market 6 store, months later for $50 or even $80, but such has not been my experience usually.

or I can go the unconventional route....I do have a MISB TR Fort Max. If anyone wants to do a straight-up trade when Trypticon comes out PM me.

No, he was available at every retailer online, like amazon, toysrus.com, target.com and walmart.com plus HTS. Any fan who wanted one could get one. There were great deals too, he was on a black friday sale at TFSource for only $109.

Titan Class figures are ridiculously overpriced outside the US to help compensate for any currency fluctuation. I wont play that game, I will wait for it to be on sale so that I can at least eventually buy it for the same price you guys will have day 1 (as I did with Fort Max who was $225!!!!!!!!!!). Not only that, but we have to deal with the exchange rate, shipping, and customs... Thus often making the deal nul and void.

I don't mind paying a reasonable price for Trypticon as I know I will actually play with him and continue to do so for a while - likely more than I will TR Fort Max - who I may only get more love out of once I buy him some new knees and some appropriate bonus accessories.

Predaking not getting a giftset I would put down to his size; the Predacons were big, which made him big, and between Sky Lynx, Metroplex, and Trypticon Hasbro already had three extra-big boxes jockeying for shelf space in stores. Monstructor's not getting a giftset I would put down to coming out at a low ebb in Transformers outside Japan when they were relying solely on the Marvel comics for promotion (which only went so far) and probably had lost clout with retailers.

As for Piranacon's giftset omitting Nautilator, I would put that down to Hasbro's rigidity about weight and box size (which to this day drives the Takara designers up the wall). The Special Teams were boxed and priced as groups of 5 for giftsets; the Seacons' designer throwing in a sixth member to let the combined form tie in with the Targetrmaster gimmick was an abnormality, and Hasbro was probably not inclined to make an exception solely to accommodate him.

Can TR Wheelie wield the slingshot from the Jazz-redeco Wheelie?

Also, I asked this before but then distractions happened: My Kup has a bit of an issue, that being that his cockpit doesn't hold a Titan Master securely at all, Flintlock or whoever I load in is free to get tossed like salad. Is that a universal issue?

Yes on Wheelie.

For Kup, it is a universal issue, but you can get them to stay put sort of, if you don't bump it too hard. There is a notch in the forward part of the cabin that you can press the nub on the back of the titan master legs into, but it is really hard to get to when Kup is fully transformed. I've found that you can get them to stay somewhat if you try putting the titan master in mid-transformation before the cab is fully in place and you have better access to the front of the cab. I'll try to get you a photo later.

Not on the regular retail toy sadly, but I'm sure we'll see an upgrade kit/Shapeways face for Brainstorm with a removable faceplate at some point. I mean it's so easy, how could someone not?

I didn't notice any reference to it further up the thread, but I was looking at my TR Topspin today and I noticed he has a rectangular peg hole on each of his legs. It almost looks like something is supposed to go there, but it isn't his guns.

Could it be possible that Twin Twist will have pegs that fit into those holes that allow the two of them to combine together?

Anyone else noticed a weird thing with Bumblebee where under softer light (like say during the daytime) the painted yellow on his chest sorta matches up with his yellow plastic, but then later in the day when it gets dark that same yellow on his chest... just no longer matches up?

It's not the sort of thing I can catch on camera but it's very strange and slightly unsettling.

Yellow is one of those plastic colors that be viewed different under different types of light, not to mention some shades can go slightly translucent, enhancing that effect. Yellow paint also has that quality that lets the plastic color "bleed" through it so there's a double whammy there. Besides, Hasbro hasn't had the best of luck matching plastic colors with paints.

Yes I have a coloured Lightbulb that changes colour with a remote and it dramatically changes the glow and look of things - in a bizarre way - some thing glow white under certain coloured lights. (as if they were UV glowing)
