I think I'd be alright with a TR Cyclonus. I like the CW version, but there's a vacant spot on my Lost Light shelf with his name on it since he's current combined with some slightly customized Vortex limbs.

More like as in, Skullcruncher and Hardhead are literal recreations of their toys' appearances rather than being stylized or redesigned like Classics Optimus, Generations Scourge and Trailcutter etc. These are pretty much the original 1987 toys with more articulation.

I've had a few beers (1AM Sat, here) and trod in some ideas. Just here to 'wipe my shoe' as it were. Repaints; The rumoured Kup could be Crosshairs, Getaway - Pointblank, Sureshot - Joyride, Misfire and Slugslinger are easily done from each other/Triggerhappy.
Still unfamiliar with IDW but I think there's an Onyx Prime/Headmaster link and beast combiners/Wars makes the prospect a heady humectant.

The more I think about it the more I feel we're largely getting Triggerhappy because Misfire... we're getting some nice Scavengers action from this line.

Who wants to bet by the end of the line we'll get a Spinister out of Highbrow?

One that seems to be missed out in the TR line...so far...is Overlord! now....granted there's a 3P one coming, but i would've thought that since he also has a base mode

I thought he would've fitted right in, along with Leader Class Blaster, Soundwave and PMOP

That goes WAY past "homage", though. That's closer to just copying the old toy.

It was teased by Hasbro and Hasbro doesn't handle masterpieces, that's Takara thing. It Was also shown right after the titans return reveal panel

I somehow highly doubt that Overlord would be next on the Masterpiece list.

Yes I'm aware of Grimstone as I do indeed own him. But the drones are - well drones - and also I did say 'decent' didn't I - implying a larger toy. When most people think of the Dinobots they think of Team-Grimlock not Grimstone. I like the PCC Drones just fine heck if they wanted to make at some future point versions of them with robot modes in a bigger size i'd be happy to see them... but that is the sort of thing that is best done after the normal ones have been properly and fully addressed (excluding the Movie toys obviously).

I'm aware of the Kre-O Combiners though it's not something I personally collect - I even said how they'd be fun to see as more conventional Transformers somewhere on this site a couple of weeks or so ago... especially the Ice age themed team.

I can see Takara doing a remould of Sixshot too. The first thing I thought of when seeing Doubleheader is his potential as Fangry.

And if you got even further than that I understand there is some shared gun moulds and even shared Titan Master moulds too.

So if they go as far over the top as Combiner Wars is more of a wait and see thing really - I don't mind remoulds or repaints if they look good and make sense though.

I'm more than happy to have some pretty obscure ones too like Fly Wheels from the Voyager Megatron mould for example.

Here is a thought what if they plan to do an IDW repaint with a more grey tone and then give it a different head - that would be kinda fun he has the head for it anyway.

It might make good giftset fodder for example.

They meant that there's no retools from previous lines aside from Buzzsaw > Laserbeak and Ultra Magnus > Powermaster Optimus Prime. And even in those two cases Buzzsaw was clearly a preview and probably a we-don't-have-room-in-titans-return-for-him case, and Powermaster OP is an incredibly extensive retool.

Also RAR, not everything you mentioned is a retool, there is a big difference between shared engineering, redecos and retools. A retool is only when they take the same mold and change its tooling. If its a new part entirely, then its not a retool.

Mindwipe & Convo-bat But thats an exclusive, its not even made by Takara, its licensed like the club figures.

In any case, I think Megatron would be remolded in terms of his chest into Blitzwing.
Also, Ravage's head is different from Stripes' head. Stripes' is a bit more... weirdly dragonic, while Ravage's head looks much more like, well, Ravage's head.

Optimus's chest is based on his G2 Laser toy's chest, which in turn was based on his classic truck front chest with the windows and grill.

Whatever the case may be, they look the same.
