And Takara will undoubtedly go proper blitzwing colors so it's a win/win as far as I'm concerned.

I want an inexpensive Blitzwing, and so do most fans. Blitzwing's a more popular character than Flywheels here in the U.S., so I would imagine more that Blitzwing would be turned into Flywheels for the Asian market.

Well if you want an inexpensive Blitzwing the generations figure is widely available on eBay for equal to or less than retail even with shipping. But you're right when Blitzwing is released I don't see how it won't be in a classic deco. Then I'm sure Takara will take the extremely Sunbow approach. But this worries me that Megatron may not be released by Takara in a nicer deco. They seem to be anti-repaint for their line.

YES TO THIS. They've brought so many other BW guys into IDW it would be a shame to not have him. They could rename him, or they could say he looked at the war records and chose to rename himself similar to BW Megatron in the show, just find a way to include his magnificence. And his rubber ducky.

I back this as well. I definitely would love this.

Megatron from Bast Wars was not the Megatron from G1 btw. He called himself Megatron after the old Megatron he idolized. Having a Beast Wars Megatron in the comics along with the original Megatron might in fact work. Who knows? Galvatron might even become dino Megs.

You're preaching to the choir, kiddo.

Except Galvs wouldn't become Beast Megatron because he's dead, Jim.

I mean to be fair, so far we've literally just seen one Voyager repaint in the whole line. Every other Voyager mold in TR so far has no re-use that we can look at and judge. And... well. A line including both recolours and retools is not unheard of. Kind of happens all the time, actually. I don't quite see a single figure (Astrotrain) as proof of retooling for a figure not being done.

I'm not just using Astrotrain as a basis for my belief, but the overall track record of Hasbro, and my gut.

The track record of Hasbro whose Voyager waves in the last line - note, the line most heavily laden with mold redecoes possibly more than any other - consisting of...

Silverbolt - Cyclonus (Major retool), Scattershot (Major retool)
Optimus Prime - Motormaster (not-quite-so-major-but-still-much-more-than-a-new-head retool), Battle Core Optimus Prime (new head Retool)
Hot Spot - Onslaught (Retool)
Sky Lynx

I know, I know; Timelines, G2 Boxsets, Victorion yadda yadda but this is just concerning mainline releases since that's what our conversation was concerning. So if possibly the most redeco-heavy line in Transformers history has, for Voyagers, a single new head retool while all the others are larger-scale retools... I'm not really seeing your point.

And by the volume of figures showing up at discount stores, they didn't sell well, thus why I feel the voyagers for TR will just be repaints with new faces.

FYI Overlords Power Master gimmick wasn't integral to the transformation. All the Powermasters did was pop out some breast guns

Actually, they did a bit more than that.

His powermasters were somewhat integral to the transformation in that they unlocked the tank section to split into the legs, and unlocked the arms in the jet mode. Granted you could totally press the buttons in the slots yourself without the powermasters, but they did have that function.

Indeed. The fact he isn't G1 Megatron, his personality is different from G1 Megatron, and he named himself after G1 Megatron/Megatron from the Covenant of Primus (like Megatron named himself after The Fallen in most continuities) is what made him appealing and an interesting villain in my mind. Definitely had a lot of charisma and yeah, can't forget the Rubber Ducky. It would be interesting to see how it all plays out considering Autobot Megatron, his renouncement of the Decepticon cause itself, and how taking the name could affect things.

I know at least they included Car Robots Gigatron/Megatron into the continuity for IDW already for the Drift comics. So this isn't too much of a stretch to do something similar here. I do admit the 10th Anniversary redo of the Ultra Megatron figure was by far superior over the original release though. I'd think it would be hard to top it unless it was another MP and added more articulation and the ability to remove the vice grip tail accessory to have a regular and articulated hand.

Admittedly I'd kinda prefer to see him in his Transmetal 1 body. It was easily his best form - the others are way too messy - and I think it'd fit IDW more.

Stiiiiiiiiiiill, off-topic. For those of you that have experienced all of Wave 1 - the four deluxes, two leaders, two voyagers, four titan masters and maybe fort max - what would you say is the best of that wave? Taking into account value and what you get for your money (so like, while obviously Galvatron is a bigger and more impressive figure than Blurr, Blurr might still be considered better because you get more out of him for 16.99 than you get from Galvatron for 23.99. Just an example, not saying it is the case)

I doubt many people have gotten all of the figures, but I will chime in anyways, Crashbash is just a delight, he's so cute :x

Otherwise, Hardhead is great value for money, he can carry 7 titan masters, and has 2 awesome modes (plus, unlike the wannabe awesome figures, he has no (known, widespread) qc issues - unlike Skullcruncher =; )

I have Nightbeat, Siren, Rewind, Wheelie, Skullguy, Blurr, Hardhead, and Galvatron, and I can say that Blurr is my favorite so far. I love the mold and it is so solid and fun to play with. Easily for me the best bang for the buck, though with how many times I take Rewind out and pretend he's my MP3 with the earphones plugged in and everything, Rewind does come close

I'm gonna go with all four Deluxes are the best part of Wave 1. Lack of paint, qc, and all. If I had to pick just one it would probably be Blurr. Although Hardhead has lots of TM integration that's super fun to play with.

After much waiting and hunting, I finally found Wheelie. I'd have to say he is hands down the best Legends of Wave 1. I never hated Wheelie I was just mildly annoyed by him. Good thing I can pretend all the annoying parts away. His design is such a cool update while staying true to the OG. I'm just glad to finally have a Wheelie that is the right size class, and alt mode for the character. There is some really nice engineering going on with him, even if he is a pain to tab together in alt mode.

Wheelie! Look out!

If damn Blaster had come in stock at HTS, I would have had the necessary figures to get the $10 off and free shipping, which would have included all 4 wave 2 TM's

Yeah, I tried, the promotions didn't double up, and I would have paid over $10 in shipping and taxes, so it didn't matter if I got the 10 off in the first place, so I said screw it, I'll wait 'til they have an actually good sale >:oP

I've got all of wave 1 and 2 TR. (Darn pack-rat completionist OCD personality...)

I have to go with Blurr. He is the most fun and the figure I have probably fiddled with the most! Yeah, the Hasbro paint job isn't great (why I ordered Takara's to go on my shelf) but he is so darn fun and looks good. WW is probably my second favorite. Apeface and vehicle are also very fun. I fiddle with Sentinel a lot too. In fact, I like them all so much, I might be better served saying which ones I don't like.

I don't like Wheelie much. Sure, he's a nice update, but I swear it's like Masterpiece level panel fitting in alt mode. I squeeze him just wrong and he disintegrates in my hand. I also think the Legend Stripes and Ravage are fairly disappointing. I'd love some better pile driver options for Frenzy, but Eject looks almost perfect!

It's just such a great time to be a TF fan and collector!

I had kind of a weird idea, re-watching Five Faces of Darkness:

There were sweeps miscolored as Soundwave, Swindle, Dragstrip, Dirge, and Grimlock.

What if Hasbro played INTO the parts-swapping gimmick later on in Titans Return by releasing Scourge-redecos colored to match the body-less Titan Masters?

They would come with a re-decoed Scourge head but you could be encouraged to go out and get the headpacks.

You could pull a "Galvatronus" and say that while Autobots and Decepticons are away from their bodies, Scourge is running around stealing their bodies to convert into Sweeps.

So, for example, you have a Sweep colored like Grimlock that, if you also own Grimlock/Clobber's head, you can present as "Grimlock reclaiming his reformatted body".

There's just something appealing to me about a rainbow army of miscolored sweeps as troop builders and there would be added play value if they double as generic bodies you can attach other Titan Masters to.

Actually, I tried the code and it still works. I didn't go through all the way with purchasing since I couldn't get up to $50 with the code to get free shipping. But I don't see why the transaction wouldn't go through. I didn't read the fine print, so I'm not sure if the sale ends today or if they're just slow with updating their system. If you have enough stuff, worth a try.

Holy crap you are right!

Just ordered Blaster, Brawn, Clobber, Skytread, and RiD Groundbuster. Total game to $59 and I got the free shipping. Could have bought Ravage and Laserbeak (And Apeface was out of stock), but decided that the rest of wave 2 can wait. I mean, after this the only figures left this year I want to get involve 4 RiD warriors and a deployer, and the wave 2 deluxes and voyagers, so gotta do some spacing out!

Bit out of left field, but there's many reasons for this - he's an amazing villain and I'd love to see IDW use him (bit biased), there's probably an MP BW Megatron coming so he'd have a toy to advertise, AND it means that Hasbro can be pleased having a guy called Megatron as the villain so they don't feel tempted to tell IDW to switch Automegs back.

Who knows? Galvatron might even become dino Megs.

it's the same thing with RID Megatronus! he's not Megatron either ;)

A nice thing I found with Astrotrain, because I have to turn the head around on the titan master to fit it in the slot, if I pull it up slightly, it makes a bit of a gap (which doesn't look bad) but also gives Astrotrain some very good neck articulation! More than I was expecting actually!

Just curious, a lot of people are quick to come up with ideas of redecos and retools for things they want, like a headmaser arcee. But would you really buy this if you saw it in stores?
