it's still referred to as a Transtector isn't it?(the body the head attaches to) or am i wrong on that?

Maybe hasbro has finally become aware of how tired we are of 'bee. Since he's already the star of a show, they don't want to put us over the edge by including him in every gen line too
aye true, we still don't know what's over the horizon with the Titan line yet? so maybe Bee'll be in there somewhere, but i'm not holding my breath.
Nor, am I, I'm honestly tired of seeing that little yellow **** on shelves; I'd be really happy if they dug out hotshot and gave him a chance to revel in the spotlight for a bit; he's way more compelling than bee ever was, and made for a better personality than any of the recent character archetypes - one reason I enjoy sideswipe so much in rid

well at least we're getting a CW Wheeljack

We just got a pretty nice Megatron in combiner wars, I hope they just leave him alone and save a spot for another character

FOC Blaster was repurposed as a version of G1 Blaster via the Cloud fiction.
It's not like this Leader is the end-all be-all only 1st party CHUG Blaster option.
That toy has always been G1 Blaster, being released as that character a good two years after the Cybertron line died.Counterpunch wrote:Showing the Universe/Cybertron version is like arguing that Cybertron Blurr should be good enough.![]()

*sigh* it just feels cheap to me....if that does turn out to be the case
or at least they could've given him a leader class sized body to attach to(if Galvatron already isn't one).
Galvatron's a Voyager... as he was originally meant to be.
ah right, thanks![]()
means he's gonna come up short....against Optimus

Actually the Powermaster mode version of G1 Optimus Prime was a bigger bot, which means that this Leader TR Optimus Prime is actually just about the right size compared to Galvatron, but WHO CARES as long as Galvatron is a voyager just like CW Cyclonus so they can scale it's cool.I am just hoping they release some Voyager Sweeps to go along with them, or at least the new larger deluxe size.

Counterpunch wrote:Universe 2.0 was a catch all at the end. Trying to pair up what the bios say to what the toys intuitively are designed for/representing is either an exercise in frustration or poor story telling.
william-james88 wrote:SJ21 wrote:I just don't know if I'm buying this new Blaster. I like the Fall of Cybertron version of him and Soundwave. They scale well with my Classics. Their minions also scale well and they have the storage/eject gimmick.
As someone said above, Blaster wasn't a headmaster. He also never turned into a base and he's too big.
But he looks so good in bot mode.
I'm so conflicted.
Do like I am doing. Keep your foc soundwave and blaster for your classics, thats the soundwave in the comics anyways:
And get the blaster and soundwave to face off along with these guys in he new scale the gen line has given us (aka, the discount MP line)!
His bio is based on his Marvel comics backstory in which he was a resistance fighter with G1 Perceptor.Counterpunch wrote:Sabrblade wrote:That toy has always been G1 Blaster, being released as that character a good two years after the Cybertron line died.Counterpunch wrote:Showing the Universe/Cybertron version is like arguing that Cybertron Blurr should be good enough.![]()
I disagree.
His bio doesn't entirely insinuate this.
Overload was sold under the label of "Cybertron Series". Blaster, however, was sold under the label of "Classic Series", like other Universe toys who were meant to be G1 updates in the same vein as the 2006 Classics line.Counterpunch wrote:More to the point, other Voyager sized figures in Universe 2.0 refer to other continuities. For instance, Overload is 100% his Armada self.
Only three figures in the line (Dropshot, Vector Prime, and Overload) had unpainted keys. Every other new Universe-decoed toy release that came with a key in the line, regardless of what continuity label they were sold under, had keys with paint and/or tampos on them.Counterpunch wrote:To further muddy the waters, most of the cyber key bots in U2.0 have unpainted keys, denoting their otherworldly ties to other stories. Blaster's key is painted up as if it were (close to) appropriate for the Cybertron line.
Mini-Cons were introduced into G1 media as early as 2006, beginning with the Classics line itself.Counterpunch wrote:And further, his partner bot, Blockrock, is stated to be a Mini-con in the same way that Cybertron Soundwave's was described as such.

Caelus wrote:My wife pointed out something interesting about the prehistoric Predacons. I said that everyone was complaining because transforming for them mostly consisted of them just standing up-right. She essentially said, 'So? That's what our ancestors did.'
The first year of the line, 2008, was pretty much all Classics-style updates of G1 characters for the Deluxe, Voyager, and Ultra toys of the line. It wasn't until the second year, 2009, that line really became more of a catch-all line with more toys representing updates of characters from non-G1 lines like Beast Wars, RiD, and the Unicron Trilogy. This shift in focus from being like a direct successor to the Classics line of 2006 to a broader line was most likely done as a means to further celebrate the 25th anniversary of the brand, as seen with the 2009 toys sporting a 25th Anniversary logo on their packaging that the 2008 toys didn't have.Counterpunch wrote:I consider most of those keys to be unpainted but I see where you're coming from.
I understand you sticking by what was printed on the box, but you also didn't respond to my last point, the one that really matters in all of it.
Catch all lines, like Universe 2.0 throw a lot of stuff together and reference a lot of past things without really committing to it.
Boiling it down, do you really think the U2.0 Blaster, with a scant bio and no other supporting figures or fiction, is really meant to be "Classics/Generations" Blaster or was that a convenient spot for a desirable, well intentioned if not late redeco for the Cybertron line to finally find a home?

I wonder if they (TT or Hb) can feminize him into Elita-One as they share almost similar Transform modes.
