I'm just hoping TRU re-ups so I can get a set -- the guy I talked to said they weren't expecting more since they were prepping for the movie figures coming soon....I'm hoping he was somehow misinformed.

Is anyone else hoping that we get a repaint of TR Hot Rod in the MP-9B Black Rodimus Prime colours? I'm pretty ambivalent about what happens in the IDW comics but that colour scheme is utterly beautiful.

Dont lose hope, these sets are usually found online at TRU.com. Thats where all the combiner wars sets could be found. They probably wont put more in stores to give more room for movie toys and instead put them online. They are the only seller selling them in the US so all that inventory is just theirs. Just like Brianstorm at Walgreens. Many were worried about not finding him when he initially came out and now he's the only deluxe found in that store

Yeah, hopefully it's available online (without a $70+ markup!) soon, if the Hunt fails. And if that's not meant to be, then perhaps Ross can save the day....

I guess I have to take back something I said earlier. I have seen a quite significant size, fully stocked TF section at a TRU, but it was in spring of 2014 when the AoE line was released in full force. Sadly I am not a fan of the movie line toys (I am neutral towards the films themselves, just not a fan of the toys). But as a result, I’m not sure if TR will be crowded out completely disappearing for months, or just trickling in as waves are released? I was not collecting in 2014, though I do seem to remember seeing most of the T30 line on shelves/pegs, so I’m guessing it weathered the storm of AoE well enough. Hopefully the same can be said of TR.

I Imagine TRU will get plenty of the Velocitron set online as well in time.

Funny you should mention that. I went to WG just yesterday, just randomly searching. I got my first wave 4 deluxe sighting (a couple of Kroks) and Brainstorm was there also, along with a couple others from different waves. You can definitely tell WG gets their toys individually in crates as there is no rhyme or reason to the deluxes they have, which is nice in a way.

I have a little theory about the AOE toy line. I think it may be partially responsible for the bad distribution we've seen with Combiner Wars and Titans Return. Those toys did not sell well, for whatever reason. I think the retailers and their buyers took note of this, and it effected their buying patterns for the next lines.
It will be interesting to see how TLK effects the market. I'm kind of hoping that the retailers see the movie as an excuse to flood the shelves with any and all TF merch in hopes that the movie will help move all their inventory.

Edit: Maybe it's not that the AOE toys didn't sell well, but that the retailers bought too much banking on the hype of the whole "toys with a movie sell better". Thus them being stuck with more inventory then they could move.

I currently have Quickswitch on eBay, but no bites just yet, but plenty of time to go. Fastclash, however, sold within 10 minutes at my buy it now price of $28. Made me think I should have asked for more.

I've found everyone but Topspin so far, but man did I scour myself as well. The weird thing about o.supreme spotting 2 Kroks, and when I found Quake it was also 2 of him, is that those 2 figures only came 1 to a case, so the 2 that were spotted had to be paired together for some reason from 2 separate cases.

I thought the same thing for a minute, but my kids are enjoing the others too much. If I'm fortunate to find another set in store I may try to break it up on eBay, but its not a priority. I thought the same thing about seeing Brainstorm and Krok at WalGreens. I see them going for about $30 on eBay, and that sounds good, but when you consider the deluxes are almost $20 after tax, then shipping, then eBay fees...even at $30 I'm not making enough to justify selling them.

I think its the fact that they stocked those toys too late. Several stores had no stock on the date where they were allowed to sell them and the later waves were put on shelves way too late. Hence why we kept seeing Snarl on the shelves for 2 years after that.

Anyways, hasbro said that all lines should be on the shelves at the same time though they have no control over what stores ultimately do.

I set a starting bid of 11.99 (I think), but I always include a buy it now price. Usually, people will just bid to eliminate it.

You're absolutely right; just went back to double check. Don't know how I missed that the first time.

I often spot things Chefatron did that for some reason I didn't get notification on - that happened with RID Activator Combiner Sideswipe for example. He's a lucky boy he gets so much stuff so disgustingly early.

With the movie looming large - I'm quite concerned that Rescue Bots / Titans Return and even the RID Combiner Force stuff might all be really hard to find after June/July time especially.

It would be down right criminal if Misfire was hard to find. I expect Trypticon to essentially be an online exclusive if he shows up in the UK at all - I learned my lesson with Fortress Maximus as I never ever saw one for sale anywhere near £100 - he was always 180.00 or some crazy price - and in the end I got the Acog exclusive for a hair over £100.00 which I suppose isn't to bad as at least his face matches the other toys unlike the regular one with his Cartoon Cerebros face and I save myself the bother of having to put all those stickers on.

I'd still buy another one if I saw it at a decent price though - even if it would be buying it just for Cerebros - though I guess a double Base-mode would be kinda fun too.

I wish Hasbro / Takara would make just one version of these and then make the obvious repaints the show exclusive versions.

As I get the impression it might be quite a long wait (if they ever make them at all) for Grand Maximus, Brave Maximus, Omega Sentinel, Black Zarak, Metrotitan (or any of the IDW like characters), & Gigastorm.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of them show up eventually after there has been a couple of years of cool down I can see Takara throwing out a Grand Maximus or Back Zarak eventually... they'd be daft not to really.

People are so impatient. *Smh* I can't blame them for wanting a Nautica (I want one too!) but this is pretty excessive. And what is worse is when people spend this much money then that encourages the scalpers to overcharge because 'people will pay it'. Not to say what people should or shouldn't buy but the grumpy grandpa in me is speaking the loudest at this moment.

I hear that! I'm gonna at least try to buy Chaos on Velocitron for MSRP first.

I hope TRU-UK actually bothers to import it. I really don't want to have to pay £40.00 postage on it.

My lack of Boxed sets is kinda embarrassing. - They have slightly reduced the price on the Generations 1986 themed set on TRU UK but it's still a good £40 more than I wanna pay for it. as I'm only really buying it to get Ultra Magnus.

Knowing my luck it's not in my nearest store at all and they will reduce it only once it goes out of stock for online sale.

It might also prevent them from stocking the other boxed set either.
Oh well the best I can do I hope they get reduced somewhere or other and I either pay hideous postage on it or hope for a UK stockist that isn't charging £160.00 for it. As frankly If I had a spare £160.00 I can think of better things to spend it on.
