Yes I raised an eyebrow at calling that IDW Kup when it really does look more like Marvel Comics Kup.

Cheerleading for Chefatron is my Hobby... but if you'd like another option to aid the buyers choice of which of the several sort of Windblade's is best there is this one too : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRFe8d0AVN4
Some might agree with Chefatron that it's worth having a proper sword for her.

It's probably a side effect of his body's robot mode being IDW-based, so people attribute the head to that inspiration as well, even if the head doesn't bear the same resemblance that the body does.Kurona wrote:I don't really get people saying Kup's headsculpt is IDW-inspired

Just found this at a local Toys R Us this morning. They just got 2 cases in a shipment today. Anyone still looking for this set might want to try their local store.

Huh, I thought I remembered hearing Kup having loose joints was more widespread. Bad luck I guess. I can live with it, all of my other Wave 4 deluxes are pretty good in the joint department. Even Krok is tighter than Skullsmasher.
Speaking of which they are all fantastic. Krok is one of the best repaints we've gotten and is far superior to Skully. Preceptor is a little boring as a new mold compared to the other two. But he looks perfect in bot mode and his altmodes are what you'd expect from a G1 Perceptor. First of all I didn't like Kup when he was revealed. His colors weren't right and I didn't like the head. Then Takara showed off theirs and I had a very similar opinion. TR Kup began to grow on me, now I like the head and the colors(even though they still don't quite fit). The mold is quite clever and fun; taking a trick from the Prime Vehicon playbook. Topspin is perfect in all of the ways. Not sure if he'll beat out Triggerhappy though.
Long story short, if you haven't gotten these guys yet, buy them. Oh and Quake is in the wave too.

You know, with these and the TT Legends releases, you know what I really want to go with some of these characters? I want a Titans Return Targetmaster Boxset. Just contains all the Targetmasters for the TR Deluxes that should have them (plus Scoop since he had the Generations release).
Looks like that would be 6 Decepticon Targetmasters, and 5 Autobots.
Hot Rod, Blurr, Kup get 1 each, and Scoop gets 2.
Scourge, Misfire, Slugslinger, and Triggerhappy get 1, and Quake gets 2.
As far as size, can someone compare how they relate to the Titan Master class? Bigger, smaller, about the same?

I'd actually like to see a Platinum Edtion re-release of the Original Misfire, Slugslinger, and Triggerhappy, to go with all the other platinum Seeker box sets, but I doubt it will ever happen.

In general, I am merely commenting that the Targetmasters should be released, and why not in some capacity as part of Titans Return. The development is done and the molds already made.

Guilty as charged. I read that the robot mode was based on Guido Guidi's design from AHM so I assumed that included the headsculpt. That and something about the sculpt (I'm not sure what) reminds me of iGear's IDW-inspired replacement heads for 2010 Kup.
The color layout is decidedly Original Kup Toy/Marvel Comics just like what they inflicted on Blurr, though. Thankfully Galvatron was spared that.
As for people calling TR Hot Rod IDW, while he's decidedly mostly based on the cartoon there are a couple things about him that do kinda resemble some of the IDW stylings: his high shoulders, plus that extra fold in his chest and the belly detail it reveals

So, I recently picked up Sixshot, and I've got a question for his first alt mode; Do the legs tab together, or do they just sit parallel to each other? Because I've been messing with them for a while now to get them at the same angle, and it's becoming quite frustrating.

Very finicky, but you need some good force on the lowest part into the leg.

First.. Is that the tank mode? Because no, the legs don't tab together for that one. You have to fiddle with the thighs to get them at the same angle.
Something I'm glad Titans Return didn't give us: An Armada Optimus Prime further-retool of PMOP to go with the daft Armada Megatron from Combiner Wars.
I know there isn't an official distinct name for his TM or any boxset character's TM. That matter came up during the original discussion. But since ALL the other Titan Masters do have distinct names, it's kinda nice and helpful to have names to call the boxset heads by even if we have to come up with them ourselves.

Wolfman Jake wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:A while back in this thread there was a discussion about a name for Tidal Wave's Titan Master. Some people suggested Ramjet, the name of his Mini-Con partner from Armada, and that works. I don't think I saw anyone suggest Flattop (the grey-and-purple Micromaster jet with a gray-and-purple aircraft carrier that turned into a jet for him), though, but I think that would also work. Altermately, you could treat Tidal Wave himself as an upsized Flattop (in the same vein as Universe Countdown, Dropshot, etc) - the color scheme sure fits.
I doubt that Tidal Wave's Titan Master has a distinct name at all. None of the Titan Masters that came with the Chaos on Velocitron set had their own names (except for Titan Master Rodimus Prime, of course). The bodies and heads were just treated as singular entities, more like the Japanese G1 concept of Headmasters with Transtector bodies. In other words, Quickswitch, "Laser Prime," and Nautica were the only names we got for those figures. It's not like the regular retail line where we have pairings with two distinct names, like Revolver and Six Shot, Diac and Optimus Prime, or Hyperfire with Blurr. I expect the Siege on Cybertron box set to be no different in this regard.

I'd be willing to take bets, that PotP will have a Star Convoy homage double as an Armada Prime at some point.

Scoop came with two Targetmasters, though. There's no real need to release them again. If it bugs you that they're not the same as the new Targetmasters in size and design, just write it off as a difference between the singular Targetmasters and the Double Targetmasters. You get two gunbots but the same amount of total mass, so they're half the size of their singular counterparts.
If you got some of the Mayhem Attack Squad figures from the TFCC last year, they've got repaints of Scoop's two Targetmasters, so you have further precedence for the smaller "Double Targetmaster" justification.

Zelda, sorry I didn't post these sooner. Here is how you get Flintlock to tab into Kup's cockpit. Start out in robot mode, remove the head and fold the arms up and make the back of the truck cab. This should get you to something like the first photo below. Also have Flintlock in a seated position with the legs straight and arms out. In the first photo, the cab is pointing straight down so you can see the small notch area that you can push the nub on the back of the TM legs into.
Push the TM straight down into the notch, leaving his legs straight.
Once he is in, finish transforming Kup into a truck and you should be good to go. In theory, you should be able to do this from truck mode, but my fingers are just too big to really push the TM in unless the cab is more opened up.

Depends what moe you are talking about. In tank mode, nothing tabs in. But in the other modes, yes they are supposed to tab in although it gets super finicky at both ends and early versions cant seem to do it while keeping the legs at a clear middle.

Yeah, I'm only (eventually) getting Perceptor because I really like Perceptor. Judging from a pure toy perspective he doesn't look that great
Still better than the RTS version I suppose.

Perceptor's Tank Mode looks like a Mobile Artillery to me. (Or Self Propelled Gun -> SPG)

found something on TFW2005 where the Tank mode is neat

Just to be careful, they don't do the instructions booklet.

Twin Twist and Misfire reviews by Chefatron
He's a little late to the party this time since someone beat him to those one week ago: viewtopic.php?t=105496&p=1894615#p1894615

Since I live in the same country as him if I see he has a review of a certain fig (barring a few exceptions) it means it's out in the PH, and I can start hunting it

Collects Bayformers Toys and whatever else I think that looks cool regardless of line
