The belief is that they're packaged together and will be sold that way somewhere else as an exclusive. Wouldn't surprise me if she's a New York Comic-Con exclusive that will go on HTS after NYCC, not after Hascon.

Emerje

Apparently TFormers looked at the name of the image and it LOOKS like Arcee will be in a new Hasbro in-house subscription service ala TFSS.

Uuuuugh. Well this is going to be hell.

Well, it might not be that bad, if you think about it. Didn't we already hear that the price point will be $30 for this set? That's convention exclusive manufacturer pricing for sure. But it is definitely not TFSS pricing. Those were upwards of $100 for molds that were largely unchanged, just with added paint and head sculpts. For $30, we also get the diecast Titan Master, so arguably it's maybe a 50% premium for Arcee herself.

Personally, I can swallow having to pay a small premium for a figure like this if it's an exclusive as such. I couldn't justify paying 3-5x as much (depending how long I waited) for the TFSS figures.

Maybe this is also the way we get the figures that can't really get at there proper size classes. For instance, Snapdragon and Apeface, both have the added trouble of being "double Headmasters". Maybe they become a $40 voyager size with the extra titan master part for the beast head, but are convention exclusive. Would that be ok?

I can't remember where, but I think I saw where Arcee was only going to be $25. I know io9 had $30, but I think the promotional info from Hasbro themselves said $25.

I really just want the Ultra Magnus Titan Master. Looks like I'll be checking eBay in September.

I think the main problem with this Winblade are not the legs, but the head.
In order to fit all the details of the face and hair they had to shrunk it down a lot, and the face ended being too small compared to the rest of the body.
I have the feeling the legs are too square, instead of big, while the overall too bigness of the limbs is due the head being too small.
Can we have a pic of Windblade featuring another headmaster?

Yea, you're absolutely right, her head looks too small for her body. To make it worse it's something I can't unsee now, every time I look at it it's just painfully glaring now. Really unfortunate because the detail put into her face really is great!

Well yeah...and there's this ;) Image

To throw my 2 cents in, I would get Apeface and Snapdragon if proper figures were made. They would go well with my Decepticon Headmasters collection. At the same time there are many other major characters (Scorponok!!!) that I would rather see represented with a modern update first.

Regarding the "why Apeface and Snapdragon" question, my answer is simply completionism.

I really want to have the entirety of the G1 bots I loved so much available in CHUG scale, with CHUG articulation.

I am not necessarily a G1 purist by any means, but that is what I grew up with (and G2). Beast Wars is also something near and dear to me, so I would be happy to have those as well. Buuut... I was fortunate enough to have gotten nearly all the Beast Wars characters before it went into Transmetals and Fuzors, etc. The problem there is that, those versions already have the articulation I want in such a toy, so I am less inclined to feel as though new BW characters are a need.

So for it comes down to wanting those characters with the articulation found in a newer designed toy. And yes, if there was a gimmick to that particular toy/character, I would prefer that the new toy retains said gimmick.

LOL yeah, they could have made the totem a fun, exclusive set!

And I'm with mordhelm -- the updates I want also skew towards G1 (also, pre-BW), due to the desire for a lot more articulation.

People want what they cant have, especially when it's components of a group that didn't make it onto the mass market like the rest did (a lot of people view the Horrorcons as part of the full team of 1987 Decepticon Headmasters).

Yeah, it's the set completion thing. The Horrorcons are part of the 87 lineup. While The Headmasters is where they showed up the most, they did still appear and play a significant role in "The Rebirth", with Snapdragon being the one to blame for the mortal wound that forced Daniel to become a Headmaster Partner.

But the Horrorcons still aren't as popular or well-known as prior Triple Changers like Blitzwing, Astrotrain, Octane, Broadside and Galvatron (though he's less well-known as a triple-changer because the fiction neglected that), and they don't seem to lend themselves to being moldmates with anyone to get more value, so they might not have even been up for consideration. And even if they were, there's the dilemma I brought up: Deciding the best way to integrate or compromise on their full gimmick within the constraints of Titans Return. Can you take the plunge and pick one of the possible approaches, or do you get stuck agonizing over the choice? Or do you perhaps decide to wait until the marching orders change and you don't have those particular constraints anymore?

The Autobot Targetmasters are the biggest oversight, in my opinion, especially since we got their 3 Decepticon counterparts. God Bomber is already available, you just have to import him. Greatshot, Dai Atlas, & the Horrorcons are all figures I would have picked up. Hopefully, we get some of these eventually.

This right here.

Once I realized the Horrorcon heads only look good from one direction and that Titan Masters are too small to do it better, I figured animal helmets were the answer. I really thought Six Shot was a preview of this the way the Titan Master slips into the wolf head, but apparently it wasn't meant to be.

On that note, I've finally listened to the latest Twincast Podcast and heard the interview audio for myself. The way it's said in the interview it really does seem to be true that Sluggslinger is the only new figure in all of Wave 6 across all classes. That would mean Titan Masters Toraizer and Optimus Primal were canceled and the Amazon listing was an error based on old info rather than jumping the gun on an upcoming release. :(

If this Hasbro Transformers Subscription Service thing turns out to be real, maybe that's where Hasbro intends to release what we would have liked to have seen at the tail end of Titans Return? It might also be where some more of the planned box sets end up, split up, of course, as seems to be the case with Titans Return Arcee with Titan Master Ultra Magnus. My guess is that Hasbro wants to debut this idea at HasCon, but didn't have enough time to plan out new and worthwhile figures for this service, so they picked from the end of what was originally planned for Titans Return, and just pushed up Power of the Primes to make sure new product was on shelves for the holiday shopping season. Slugslinger probably barely made the cut in Wave 6 just to let consumers complete the Decepticon Targetmaster trio without having to invest in this whole new premium distribution channel.

If Arcee with Ultra Magnus are the "preview" for this service, with their availability at HasCon meant to entice people to sign up for the full service, I would expect at least another Titans Return deluxe figure with the "Firepower" die-cast Titan Master paired with it. It would be a great place to put in some potentially one-shot molds too, like Apeface and Snapdragon, since Hasbro can charge a higher price for molds that aren't likely to be reused. Likewise, some more remolds/repaints into the Autobot Targetmasters would be a smart move too. Maybe they could be paired up with some of the remaining expected Titan Masters, like Toraizer and Grotesque.

Almost every article I've seen quoting the Hasbro HasCon exclusives toys says Arcee/Ultra Magnus getting a "wider" release later.

I could totally be wrong but I don't see a subscription-like service qualifying as a "wide" release.

Arcee and Ultra Magnus could be more of an example too, instead of a part of the subscription service proper. They could even come with an advertisement for the subscription figures, complete with a mini catalogue showing off what is to be available. I really hope I'm on to something with this. It seems like a really clever move for Hasbro to make.

I'm happy about the reissues, but if we were to have more new molds + recolors.. (mind you, the Minibots and cassette cast still have a chance under PotP):

Titan Master:
    Outback
    Grotusque (from Fangry)
    Hound or Rook (from Brawn)
    Offroad (from Brawn)
Look, Brawn's vehicle has a really good gun mode, alright?
Somebody who turns into a horse's head somehow, purely for the sake of doing something silly with another character based on a typo

Legends:
    Outback
    Cliffjumper
    Huffer
Rumble. Er, sorry, Frenzy since TR stuck to the original toys' name-color matchup
    Eject
    Ratbat
    Tape Tablet!Ramhorn

Deluxe:
    Ratchet
Ironhide (The idea of Headmaster versions of these two amuses me. Think about it. Plus if they transformed akin to the G1 toys that would work well with Titan Masters.)
Springer (granted, he might have a shot under PotP)
Hound, maybe (for the interactivity with TMs)
    The Autobot Targetmasters I suppose.
    Hosehead
Full versions of Nightbeat and Siren

Voyager:
Not sure here right off

Leader:
Rodimus Prime that transforms like the original, with a Voyager-height cab robot (to go with TR Galvatron)
Soundblaster (though I doubt a retool to incorporate one of the original SB's differences would be feasible)
    Twincast (ditto)
Apex Bomber (Retooled from GB at least to have PARTSFORMING WINGS and ideally to go with Hasbro PMOP)

Thing is, Sixshot is a Leader-class figure with the plastic and engineering allocations thereof.
To pull that off at the Voyager price point. they'd have to sacrifice an accessory. Otherwise all they could get away with is a flip-out cover panel to try covering the robot face with. And again, that's assuming the Horrorcons were even on the table.

Amusingly, the Crashbash/Overboard dino mode kinda steals Snapdragon's schtick, with the TM's legs forming the jaw.

Now, if we were to get Horrorcons where Spasma and Krunk could be their vintage size or at least the same size as T30 Arcana, that would be something. Spasma's legs could turn to hide the robot face and Krunk could have a panel to pull down over Snapdragon's robot-mode mug.

Still like my T30 Arcee more too. This one looks alright, but I really like the T30 design. And that one looks good riding Sky Lynx into battle.

I have Leader Magnus, so no Titan master Magnus for me, but looking at it, all we need is a Springer Titan master or figure and we'll have a whole new 1986 movie cast to talk about from Titans return ;)
I'm looking for parts, Help Me Out Please!

to whom ever wanted to see TR Windblade with the swords on backwards in jet mode so the points are pointing backwards here you go
When attached backwards like that... they look like a couple of strafing bazookas. :KREMZEEK:

That was me, thanks. I actually don't think that looks too bad. They can go back a little further where the halves of the seat are can't they? And what about combined and centered under the cockpit?

I could totally be wrong but I don't see a subscription-like service qualifying as a "wide" release.

Arcee and Ultra Magnus could be more of an example too, instead of a part of the subscription service proper. They could even come with an advertisement for the subscription figures, complete with a mini catalogue showing off what is to be available. I really hope I'm on to something with this. It seems like a really clever move for Hasbro to make.

This I would believe. It makes sense as a preview, but not as the first set of the subscription, otherwise people who subscribe after getting this are going to end up with two.

You're overthinking this. Alpha Trion has those huge pylons to complete his head and still managed to include a sword and a gun while having both beast and vehicle modes. Replace one of those pylons with a partial beast mode head and you aren't using any more plastic than the Horrorcons would. It's not like either one has big wings or anything in jet mode.

I've been signing my forum posts for 20 years, why stop now? If you want to blame anyone blame this guy, I picked the habit up from him on a forum we used to be on together in '97.

Anyway, thanks for the pics! I think it looks quite a bit better in jet mode using the swords as guns in either configuration.

As long as we're listing wants, I hope that the remaining three Autobot Headmaster Warriors are released, even in some sort of multi-pack that they seem to be doing now with a Legends or a Deluxe or something. It'd be so easy.
