I ordered Blitzwing off HTS and got it in the mail last weekend. Prepping my review even now . He's been up for some time, alomg with cosmos.

After passing on TR Megatron the first few times I saw him because I thought I wanted Blitzwing instead I finally came across him at Target and picked him up. I am so glad I did. TR Megatron has become my favorite TR figure. Even though the mold was made for Blitzwing and comes with little Blitzwing as the Titan Master I think it fits Megatron much better for a few reasons.

First, I love the bulky upper body that CW leader Megatron did not have.

Second, unlike Blitzwing, Megatron's coloring is cohesive in all modes so aside from the wings folding over the sides of the rear of tank and the tank turret sticking out the bottom of the jet mode it all blends in. On the other hand, Blitzwing's jet mode is a beautiful purple on top as it should be but his tank mode color scheme is a mess with the rear purple and Hasbro choosing to make the turret and heel spurs purple completely breaking up the tan of the front tank and quite frankly making it look like a mess to me. Takara did the best it could with the mold but the way it transforms even they cannot avoid the two-tone take color scheme. As I cannot afford Takara, even that is not an option for me.

Having transformed Megatron few times the right leg is getting easier to properly collapse into place for alt mode so I have no issues with misalignment.

I would like to figure out if there is something along the right elbow joint that needs to be shaved down so the sides of the arms fold back and lock into place for jet mode.

My only nitpick is that the seat gun was cast in gray instead of black. I may try to paint it black at some point to create a cohesive look when attached to the fusion cannon.

All in all I love this figure and am glad I chose to go with Megatron instead of Blitzwing.

Trying to get Trypticon into a modern day T-Rex pose. Not easy.

I agree with the above sentiments about the Voyager TR faction leaders. You can probably tell by my sig but I absolutely adore both figures as those characters and they just look incredible together to me.

That's interesting. I did fan-mod a base mode out of Megatron but have no idea how that would connect with Tripticon. I'm thinking that line is a mistake.

A third point I love about this mold is how easy it is to transform. Everything fits in place and makes sense and I can transform the figure fairly quickly as a Transformer toy should be able to be transformed. Such a great figure.

Finally got Overlord and I can confirm that even if you already own TR Sky Shadow, he's so, SO worth it!

I'm actually considering getting them alongside Blitzwing and Octane... but not as Optimus Prime and Megatron mind you. I really need to start writing custom bios again, especially for the G2 Laser deco one.

On a totally different note, anyone dissapointed that the titanmasters dont go all the way down in Trypticon's digestive track? They only go down to his chest. I was hoping they would go all the way down to the opening in his tail.

Yup. As usual Walmart is the first to get it. Forgot to post about it in the Canada sighting thread two days ago, when I saw 5 of them at Walmart Laval.
Not to sound like an ass but I'm glad I didn't write that post because I might have missed out entirely today.

Still, Walmart is more reliable to stock leaders than deluxes so based on all the Skyshadows and Six shots they got, I'm pretty sure there will be plenty more Overlords around.

On a side note, there's a second Walmart at Laval, further west. Maybe you can try your luck over there tomorrow?

Now, to have the money and find an original G1 Overlord...

What I did was mess around with how the turret lifts on the hinges and decided it would look better if I flipped up the cockpit (leaving the nose folded inside the canopy) in the back to act as a support. I did try leaving the turret down along the legs and extending the nose to reveal the peg for the seat gun but I prefer the turret up top. I also thought the arms in their tread extensions could work well as walls/ramps and gun emplacements in the front, but that was after I first tried leaving them in the back with the wings splayed out over top. Instead, I kept the arms in jet configuration and used the wings as support pieces for the base to sit on. I also tried extending the legs but I didn't like how that looked so I kept them together with the thrusters facing forward as additional cannons (or intakes for the fusion canon).

Basically I just looked for the natural way Megatron could transform into a base and it I think it worked very well.

I never bought or played the DotM Cyberverse Megatron trailer so this turned into a happy accident on my part. I wonder if engeneers had this in mind all along now that you've pointed out the resemblance?

From what Kurona said, if Blitzwing can Link from Trypticon/Any Leader-class, i think i meant the wings from blitzwing, although it won't work otherwise.
The wings from both Blitzwing and Megatron are very wide though, so it only means it can't

And yeah, i have Blitzwing, but one of his wings are easily removed so.....

I'd be very surprised if it was the case that popping the end of meg's wing allowed him to connect.

I suspect it's an error or quirk (like the way they used Decepticon logos on a whole wave of boxed toy including the Autobots for no obvious reason).

Perhaps someone was being lazy and copy pasted some info.

If they had of wanted a connection the heel-spurs in tank mode might have made a good place to establish a connection.

I think it's simply an error. These things happen from time to time.

Its 100% an error. Just like the word Beast Wars on the Seige on Cybertron box and just like every single time they write the wrong name of the bases connecting to either fort max or trypticon in the instructions. Clearly the PMOP base mode is not called "Blaster" just as Blitzwing doesnt connect to trypticon.

Anyways, got a question for those who own Overlord. While the whole jet cockpit detaches from the body, the small nosecone also detaches but doesnt connect anywhere else. Why does it detach then?

Did i ever mention about Blitz and Megatron that their tank treads can be used like Chainsaws? just simple flip the tank treads from the arms and ding! you get an Arm Chainsaw

There will be once I get home I think its for easier access to the cockpit area to either flip down the observation deck in base mode or to open the cockpit for the titan master.

Might do one of my outdoor mini galleries too depending on where the sun is at once I get home.

And then I will get to work on connecting all the TR bases for a massive group shot. It will be a Seibertron first

That's actually the jet's nose that's been added "For Safety reasons". When its detached, you can open the cockpit of the jet and the lower door on the bottom safely rather than doing it by force and cause breakage of the figure

Still bummed that Octone has not hit HTS yet. That is a figure I look forward to. I have the G2 Laser Prime from the chaos set and it is really good, but I'd like to have it as Octone. And my triple changers will be complete!

And after finding and loving Shuffler and Repugnus, there really aren't many TR figures left for me to get that I want...

Ramhorn, Misfire, Twintwist, Slugslinger, Windblade, Octone, Overlord, and Trypticon are it. And I have a full what 5 months till we start seeing PotP stuff en masse, so yeah.
