They stopped making Legion Class figures after Prime ended. Perhaps you mean Legends Class? In that case, Wheelie, Rumble, And Stripes are all Legends Class figures.

Chromedome looks great but that Wheelie is awesome and I've never been a Wheelie fan. Anyone else thinking of a way to mod the Generations Scourge head to fit on TR body?

Right, caught up in the night's events now. I think I already said somewhere else that i would of preferred Cerebros to look more like Fortress, and to come with a smaller version of the sword. Takara will probably do something with that though, given that Fortress was one of the main characters in the Headmasters show.

Chromedome and deadend, I can tell that this isn't going to resolve itself but end of the day, does it matter? Chromey still looks fantastic. I Do Know One surefire Way of settling it though.. ask hasbro at botcon :-P

I just noticed that Blurr's and Chromedome's gun are the same.

I don't know to me a gun is a gun doesn't matter if they all look the same or not. Unique weapons are cool, don't get me wrong, but to me it's not something to dwell on.

oooook! so! what prices can we expect this lot to retail at?

in the UK, my guess it Deluxes=£15-£25, Leader=£45, Titan=£150-£200 (obviously these prices are gonna vary from place to place)

& the headmasters(titanmasters) themselves! erm.....it could be anybody's guess?

If you change every single piece of a mold to the extent that none of its pieces are the same as they were before, how is it then still the same mold if literally nothing about it is the same anymore? How is it not an all new mold, inspired by a preexisting mold, by that point?

Different molds can share transformation engineering. I provided a list of several that have done so previously in an earlier post:
Other cases like this would be:
  • The G1 Bumblebee, G1 Cliffjumper, and G1 Bumper molds
  • The G1 Runabout and G1 Runamuck molds
  • The Alternators Smokescreen and Alternators Meister molds
  • The Energon Sledge/Bonecrusher and Cybertron Hardtop molds
  • The Prime Cyberverse Legion Knock Out and Prime Beast Hunters Cyberverse Legion Smokescreen molds
  • The DOTM Deluxe Roadbuster and AOE Deluxe Lockdown molds
How is this case of Chromedome any different from the above examples?

Because unlike the examples, we can see that they actually started off with the dead end mold by copying every component and then modifing it. This isnt another design team reinterpreting a transformation, its a designer looking at an existing mold and copying every part of it, then changing each part slightly and working around the given constraints, proportions and cuts. If you retool every part of a figure, it is still a retool. Look at First Aid and Streetwise, 95% of the figures have new parts, if it was 100% (meaning the parts that were the same before, are now changed ever so slightly with different detail), they would still be retools. This is the same thing. It will be more obvious once in hand, where people will see that all the seams line up perfectly with dead end and that the pieces have the same length and proportion. And once again, that would be unlike most of the examples you give. G1 was a different system of parts count entirely so I am not sure how to count it. I feel the idea of retool and that concept came later when there was added articulation. That AOE Lockdown and roadbuster comparison is bonkers though and if you see this chromedome as the same as that then there is nothing I can say that will change your mind. All I can say is that I firmly believe that this is not the same case at all.

Have they been saying fall all this time for the release date? I just double checked the press release from NYCC and they didn't give a date at that time so I just assumed before knew what they were talking about when saying summer as if Hasbro had said it. So I guess August really does make more sense. That's a long ways off...

Going back to the Fort Max fact sheet, those numbers are probably accurate for a retail release, it's not like a lot of places sell Titans offline and his price would would mean a lower volume. Plus an SDCC exclusive or even a retail exclusive wouldn't have worldwide release numbers. So yeah, it seems the sword was nixed from the retail version and Fort Max gets no real weapons to speak of aside from on his legs. Lame. Depending on the presumed SDCC version I might just go Takara Tomy again.

Emerje

August is just anticipated start of saturation, they will surely be found in stores before then, but it will be a month or two of what people are going through now trying to find an Onslaught at retail.

Also, yes, that bit about global numbers is off for an exclusive (unless its an asia exclusive, which is a theory brought about by the fact that David Chua, the name on the watermark, is an executive for Hasbro Asia). But I still find 3000 units for the states to be such a small number.

I didn't like Cerebros much too, but I do like that they finally have a "Rebirth" accurate Cerebros head, rather than just a miniature version of Fort Max's own.

You forgot voyagers :-P but if argos isn't an isolated incident and represents the shape of things to come then the UK pricing is going to get dire. I can see leaders rising to £50+ . As for titanmaster pricing, I can imagine it would be the same as legends depending on packing.

My question is what hasbro UK set as the rrp :-?

You guys want to know what I'm hoping? That there are ports on the bottom of those seater weapons. If there are, you might could potentially slap those on Fort Max's base mode and really help him out with the armament (or lack thereof) problem.

yeah, your right, i did forget Voyagers, thanks ;)^

well.....probably be similar to what they've always set those at, with the various classes

i'm just wondering if any of those figures maybe'll have any quality control issues or defects? as we've already seen with Generations Blitzwing, Doubledealer with the shoulder connection issue! Generations Metroplex with the legs dropping when you hold the figure horizontal(which could be the same issue with Fort Max, unless they've strengthened those joints), the hip joint issue with CW Motormaster(which was corrected with the reissue), the mid section issue with CW Brawl(which there's a sort of fix for it on a youtube video) & finally the loose hip joints with CW Sky Lynx!

On most there are because they are handheld weapons. The first one who just has 5-mm-ports on the sides and none at the bottom so far is Chromedome's because of the attachement point in vehicle mode.

No it doesnt since I never claimed any official statement that was written as a means to end an argument. Unlike Sabreblade who actually wrote:

To clarify something from earlier, Chromedome is not a retool of the CW Dead End mold. He is his own unique mold but may have some similar engineering to the Dead End mold, much like how Energon Starscream was engineered similar to G2 Smokescreen.

**** like that needs a source.
As for me, it being a retool is my opinion based on what I believe qualifies as a retool. If someone wants to claim that it truly is not, which is what was the case here, they need to present evidence.

Unless Hasbro comes out and says whether it is a retool or not, no one can claim that it truly is or isnt since any unfounded claim relies on the bias of their perception.

Wow, lots of argument on semantics. Personally, I'm all for some antics!!

Perhaps since I never owned the G1 figure, and I have Generations Metroplex, but is anyone else put off by the proportions of Fort Max's head? I'm trying to remain positive, but I keep coming back to a quote from Friends:

Oi! Here's the **** podcast link http://www.transmissionspodcast.com/2016/02/transmissions-episode-153-tillallarefun/ the titans return rumors start at 1:07:46 their since explicitly states that Chromedome is NOT a remold of Deadend. This is the third time I'm posting this ****. If a worker from Hasbro saying that it isn't a remold isn't proof then there's not much more anyone can do.

I think for now, people should just agree to disagree is Chromedome is a retool/remold of Dead End. At least until actual toy samples / reviews come out. >:oP

Somebody should have asked the Hasbro rep at Toy Fair to transform Chromedome.

well...yeah, it's kinda noticeable

but then the Super Deformed one had a big head too!

but to nitpick....i still can't forgive them for taking away his guns(obviously not the built in ones) & not having a proper tower in which to have placed the tiny titanmaster in the cockpit, & not to at least include a Scamper repaint as Cog.

I think they're counting on that. If it ends up with nearly the amount of 5mm ports as Metroplex, shouldn't be a problem to do.

In other news, the endless re-tool/re-shell/re-mold back and forth in this thread is just terrible and not any fun to read at all >:oP
