I'm sure others have said it but the Walgreens release is striking me as having a very toy inspired deco. I do prefer the SDCC lighter colors. Luckily I already have the voyager and don't need to have all the Headmasters in the same scale.

I know I probably should have expected this, but the Titans Return Brainstorm makes the Generations one look like a powered-up version!
DUDE. Size DOES matter!

I don't really count Arcee as she's fiction-only and a toy of her was never made in G1. As for a possible TR release, expect a redeco of Chromedome like the original G1 proposal:

I really don't see them retooling Gen. Arcee.

The Walgreens one has unpainted altmode guns, whereas the SDCC one has them painted gray/silver.

Its a fun toy, I prefer the main colour of the Walgreens version, neither it nor the SDCC version are as good as the Voyager thought.
The Walgreens has nice blue eyes and a vibrant orange face plate with better tampos.
Really? I mean, the Voyager definitely looks better... But I found the Voyager Brainstorm to be an incredibly boring figure to play with. Whereas I am enjoying the hell out of Titans Return Blurr.

I definitely like the vibrant colours of the algreens version more. Where can I get one in the UK? I prefer the deluxe figure far more than the voyager too. I had the Voyager but there were so many things I didn't like about the design and overall shape of parts (the pointy feet bugged me for example) and they're all much better on the more G1-ish Deluxe here.
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool!

I'd keep an eye on stores like ASDA and Tesco, as such exclusives tend to become regular releases in Europe. However, don't look for just the name "Brainstorm": the UK import for the SDCC set required a name change for him, he was renamed "Charon". Don't ask.

Hm, it's been a loooong time since I've seen proper Transformers in a Tesco or Asda near me. They usually just have RiD and real basic stuff. Never seen Generations in there and the only AoE stuff was the real simple stuff like the sparky dinos, one step changers such things.
Charon is a bit of a random name. If Brainstorm, Brainwave, Brainiac and such aren't allowed...what about.. Mr Clever? I dunno.

If the british public school system is anything to go by, they'd likely change his name to either
MindMap
or
Spider-Diagram
I remember when I was in primary school people were talking about how we weren't supposed to call it 'brainstorming' anymore, as it turns out:
...it was something to do with a mental illness, and was culturally insensitive.
Hasbro would likely drop the name here, not because of political pressure, or the ministry of truth, or "political correctness gone mad", but to protect themselves from the same kind of media backlash and bad PR that they opened themselves upto by naming a trasformer "Spastic"(See:http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Over-Run_(PCC)). Which for our american friends is considered a derogatory term in the UK for people with mental disabilities, most notably people with cerebral palsy.

I remember hearing about it a few years ago too. No-one really talks about it anymore; it just happened and that was that. It's so weird when something that big quickly falls into public obscurity. Hell, Roberts probably wasn't thinking about it when he chose Brainstorm for MTMTE...

"Brainstorm generally refers to brainstorming, a group or individual creativity exercise.
The term originally referred to a state of temporary insanity, gaining prominence when it was used in the defense of Harry Kendall Thaw against charges that he murdered prominent architect Stanford White (1907-8)."
While the term may have originated with something less than ideal, it's meaning no longer has any real world relation to that instance.

I can't keep up with what is politically correct and what ain't...
I said this was back when I was in primary school. That's the mid 90's. If it ever *was* offensive, which I can't seem to find any record of online, it wasn't a recent thing. Odds are it's dropped back into the "overton window" of being a widely accepted term, and it was a whole lot of hoo-haa.
I don't see the problem with the name myself. And I'm as lefty as they come. I'm even married to someone who has grand-mal epilepsy, who are the people who it's supposed to offend, according to the daily mail (about 8 years ago), and even she calls it brainstorming.
I reiterate: It's not because of the thought police looking to curb people's free speech, it's because Hasbro will want to protect their neck after their previously bad experiences with names like Spastic and Slag.
It's not at thing that people are mad about.
EDIT: I referred to the daily mail up there, here's the article I was alluding to: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1027985/Council-bans-brainstorming-replaces-term-thought-showers--fear-offending-epileptics.html Cliffnotes: One city council banned use of the term because, even against advice, they thought it *might* be offensive. People actually felt patronised that they were considered to be so hair-trigger over a largely outdated term. They issued an apology and changed it back. Daily mail framed it as the usual 'poltical correctness gone mad' stuff they're famous for

& does this mean that we could see a TR Unicron toy(i know we're getting a platinum edition one) or even a Primus one

If your looking for him in the UK Orbital Comics in London have it as do Kapow Toys.
For the SDCC version go to A1 Toys. They have him as well as SDCC fortress Maximus at very good prices.
