I'd like to be able to leave the headmaster in the helmet as part of the transformation. Wherever the helmet goes, if I can keep the HM in there, I can pretend it is not a headmaster and get on with my Classics collecting life.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

Great, but you've already said that at least twice now. I don't have a problem with you sticking with him, but please stop proclaiming it every time TR Blaster is mentioned.

Wait what, someone mentioned TR Blaster? Well, I guess it's time for me to remind you all how the Unique Toys Soundblaster is the way to go.

Does this mean he'll have a transparent visor part on the helmet on the final colour production model, I wonder.
Yeah I am pretty sure its for the visor.

I think we saw in a demo that the little figure must be removed to tuck in the helmet properly. I am a little fuzzy on the details but I just wanted to set your expectations right into the trash where they belong.
Cobotron wrote:Counterpunch, do you consider the TR characters that were already Head Masters to be "Classics"?
Will you slide them into your Classic collection? Just curious.

Yes. If the character has history as a Headmaster, I would consider using them in my Classics display.
It worth noting though that (I assume) few complained when they made Blurr a Targetmaster.Counterpunch wrote:Cobotron wrote:Counterpunch, do you consider the TR characters that were already Head Masters to be "Classics"?

The updates, like Blaster, are more tenuous. I would have preferred a non-gimmick update. Now with TR Powermaster Prime, he'll probably make the cut because the Powermaster gimmick was always a little poorly defined.
Truth is, it's these little things that bother me so much. Star Wars, GI Joe, MotU all got options to play the modernization of their origins in a straight manner. While certain updates are cool, stuff like the upcoming Blurr being a Headmaster just don't really do what many collectors want (and subsequently send them to buying unofficial merch).

And I totally see where that logic comes from, and even I feel that way too from time to time (especially when it comes to a character's personality). When you think about it though, we're basically saying that you can tweek a character for the first two years of existence, then he's locked that way forever.Decepticon Sunstorm wrote:Randomus wrote:It worth noting though that (I assume) few complained when they made Blurr a Targetmaster.
Not to defend the new-stuff haters, but that was when all of the GEEWUNers were still kids, so they would have seen it as a cool new feature.
Crap. Ninja'd by Will.

I'm not saying right or wrong here; it's just interesting to me how we all think.

Every time a new Galvatron comes out, the third parties will make replacement heads that turn into little Megatons!william-james88 wrote:I look forward to being a much older man reading these forums as holograms and seeing the following comment after Hasbro reveals a voyager sized Blaster that is not a headmaster:
"Blasphemy! Everyone knows Blaster should be a headmaster and turn into a base? Why did they cheap out by not adding these two features?!"
Ironhidensh wrote: If you want something new, then create a new character, don't mess with something that's already established.
Ironhidensh wrote:The base mode kinda ruins this for me. I could ignore that mode easily enough, and the headmaster gimmick, but I feel the base mode really compromised the engineering. I'm just getting a huge "meh" feeling from this, and that's all I can really pin it on. That, and the fact it's over priced, like all recent Hasbro leaders.

I know what you’re going to say: it was justified by the fiction. However, there’s no reason to assume that IDW won’t include most of Titans Returns as well, just as they included Ultra Prime.

Or Optimus a Powermaster. Or when Grimlock became a Pretender.
But there were massive complaints from kids when they all became action masters.

Then we would never have the G1 Powermaster Optimus Prime.
