i didnt know that... but i dont recall seeing other versus sets in show colors now that i think about it. i bought this set as "not misb" so they could have just been put in a versus box (though i dont know why anyone would do that).

for the record, the seller previously had the same exact set only misb. so.... *shrug*

Picked up a pair of Whirls yesterday, one for me and one for a friend.

He's a super fun figure, looks great. I love the combination between G1 and IDW styling.

To be honest, it was a toss-up between him and Dreadwing. I may get him later, depending and finally make use of Hasbro 2-for-1 promotion (aka market research). Beast Hunters is disappearing from the shelves here so I may have to hurry.

'round 200. quite painful. about a year ago they were floating around on ebay for 100-150 and i was all "pffff. i can find one cheaper!" then they disappeared for like 4 months... only to return with a 200-250 price tag. it hurt, but i figured i better snatch him up while he was still around.

and i figured he'd only go up and become more scarce with generations churning out BW characters. but im betting with my luck theyll announce a brand new generations voyager dinobot next week

It was either him or Vertebreak, I've seen multiples of him, and only one Dreadwing. Easy choice, that. Is anybody reminded of Beast Machines Jetstorm with his colors?

He's not bad actually, I really dig him. I love how the wings are done, being able to feather out like a peacock's. The weapons are cool and can combine into a cannon-staff-like thingie. I like staffs The jet mode is interesting color-wise, plus the beak on the nosecone is a nice touch. The downside is he has a lot of undercarriage junk, but that's hardly anything new with jet-TF's. He's worth checking out

I do appreciate the response. Saw a loose Universe Dinobot for $25 today and wondered if I should get it.

strangely enough... i cant really recommend this figure/mold. id say hes mainly for diehards. the hasbro color scheme is all wrong, and the takara version is way to expensive. his sword sucks and he has limited posability due to some strange leg sculpting. but hes my favorite character and im building a shrine so i kinda needed him.

I was aiming more towards Beast Wars: Uprising Silverbolt.
