CW Megs is cool. I liked him a lot even with the problems in the mold. If I were you if she'll out the extra money for the dx9 upgrade. It's worth it if you want that extra feel. Otherwise it's still a great toy in my book.


Also the armada Megs use of the mold is very cool too.

What do you think of Star Saber? I've never been a fan of the Japanese series, but that figure looks so good just to display, I'm totally divided on it.

He's great, one of my favourite MP's. He looks so much better in hand, those pictures really don't do him justice. Simple transformation but intuitive and a brilliant homage to the original G1 toy.

You really don't have to be a fan of the character to appreciate the toy.

Yeah, they are from Amiami. However, I just got the Postage packing slip today so I can grab my stuff tommorrow!

What do you think of Star Saber? I've never been a fan of the Japanese series, but that figure looks so good just to display, I'm totally divided on it.

I got Starsaber this weekend after being on the fence about him for a long time. I was blown away by that toy. He's easily my favorite new TF since a loooooong time. So many features, so my features! You can say GO! on this figure.

I am on the fence right now. What is stopping me are 4 things:

0 Connection: I never heard of this guy when he was first announced.
Transformation: I like how the MP line has complex transformation, this guy seems to be very simple for the price you are paying.

Alt Mode: While I am sure it is accurate, I dont know the guy and at face value that alt mode looks more like a flight mode than a vehicle which differentiates itself from the robot. Kinda reminds me of Armada Overload.

Price: All those comments above combine with the fact that he is the most expensive MP to date (how much did he end up being for you in the end, if you dont mind me asking?)

So far he is really awesome.


Edit: that GT girly figure that Kanrabat posted is cool. Know why?
She is a Microman. She is built from the same mold used to make all female Microman figures.
So you get a TF and a Microman all in one go. Pretty cool.

Stasaber cost me €35. But it was part of a trade, so that may not be the best indicator in terms of price for what is fair for Starsaber. I would have not paid full price, simply because that kind of money usually winds up in my MIB G1 collection. So I got him as an exception.

If you're in to Japanese G1 and MP's, he's a blast. Starsaber is the posterboy for Takara G1 and from that perspective, worthy of getting a Masterpiece. He's iconic and that's what the line is about. Sure he's the odd one out when you look at it from a Hasbro perspective, but Takara is releasing most MP's and they've released many leader characters. Stasaber just fits that bill. If you have never watched Victory, I can understand that you'd be less inclined to get him. So maybe just give Victory a chance as a show? The release makes far more sense and that show is good, clean fun.

Sure Starsaber is a simple design and other MP's are more complex. That has a reason. The early G1 guys got heavily redesigned before appearing on-screen. Ironhide never was intended for a TV-show, but he ended up in one. The MP line is about accuracy, so bringing a van into an acceptible Ironhide takes complexity. The animation models are used for the robotmode and those have to be designed to fit the alternate modes.
Starsaber was designed as a character for the show, only his proportions are tweeked. He wasn't imported from a different line, he's intended to be put in a cartoon. His on-screen transformation took no redesigning, the alternate mode took no redesiging, so those can stay the same for the MP. MP's are only as complex as they need to be to look like something from the cartoon. Starsaber can stay simple because of that.

His alt mode is chunky. Well, the back part is. Starsaber is comparible with Godginrai, only he's not a truck, he's a jet that combines with his trailer. That trailer is there as a magic mushroom. The MP's trailer, the V-star, houses a TON of gimmicks. It's there for a supermode, combines with the main jet, stores two blades (chromed goodness), a blaster and a poorly hidden battle helmet. There's also elaborate landing gear and glorious missile pods. That V-star is a great, big chunck of weaponry.

He also comes with an extra shield, which doubles as a flight stand.

On a final note: if everyone buys Starsaber, the chances of seeing Victory Leo increase. It's all in the sales and who would not love a full Victory Saber?

Bottom line is: I love Starsaber. Best new TF of 2015.

One thing though and please dont hate me, but since you got it in a trade from someone then doesnt that mean that it doesnt contribute to Takara's sales numbers? If I did buy one, then it would be under similar conditions to save as much as possible and that wouldnt contribute to Takara's sales either. I feel they made him a bit too expensive in my opinion.
