Today I got an excellent haul. Found CW First Aid at Target, but the most important thing came in the mail.

I got married last Friday. As a wedding gift, my new wife, who used to be the fiancee who bought me my Classics and MP Ghost Starscreams as well as Infiltrator Starscream this past Christmas, bought me the TFCC G2 Ramjet, which came in today's mail.

Jeez...

Beside, the Tailgate mold is complete garbage. It's just a mess of panels that would make the worst shellformers blush in embarasment.

Yeah, it is a garbage mold, glad it came with a targetmaster, he's fun.

But didnt you get a nemesis and cliffjumper? They were there last time, no?

I just barely had Nemesis. Cliffjumper is MIA and I will never, ever see Acid Strom... :-(

Thanks guys. I'd considered posting her in the non-Transformers haul thread in the General Discussion, but I'm not sure she'd appreciate that.
But yes, if I may for a moment, she's awesome, and she's bought me a bunch of my most favorite collection pieces over the years. Even though it is always a surprise, I know that every Christmas I can count on getting something really awesome and unexpected from her. She's also pretty great for a lot of non-toy related reasons.

After hearing Kanrabat talk about it a bit, I decided to see if I could find Predaking. Both BBTS and Amazon actually had him new still, and at MSRP, so I went ahead and grabbed him. You guys weren't kidding, this guy is huge! He's only about a head or so shorter than CW Menasor!

Its almost a shame that you couldn't have gotten a Scramble City Combiner first. THEN Predaking woulda felt huge

I knew you wouldnt be dissapointed! "A head shorter than CW Menasor" sure... but TWICE as MASSIVE, both in appearance and weight. Just imagine what could have been with a "voyager" torso!

I also really love the beast modes and the bot modes are adorable as fawk. I got mine on sale at only 100$CAN+tx with free shipping. But even at the regular 150$CAN+tx, I think it would still be worth the money! 8)

Oh yeah, the guy is just thick and weighty. I really like the beast modes as well and that's probably what I'll keep them in when they're not Predaking. Mine was $99 with free 2-day shipping (yay Amazon Prime!).

Dude, its awesome that you like G1 and have a chance to get these toys at a reasonable price. Like you, I started collecting not too long ago and I was so pleased to find this guy. While he might be a bit smaller than today's combiner war toys, the heft on this guy is uncomparable. And those robot modes are awesome for the simple fact that their limbs for animal mode are not repeated in robot mode. Ravage is my favourite robot mode while the Rhino and Bull are my favourite in animal mode, they just kick so much ass in beast mode. And those beast modes were never ever done better by third parties for some reason. They just look so massive in their G1 blockiness. And another cool side note, the original Japanese version was made entirely of plastic, which this version improved upon (when i twas rereleased in japan) by adding die cast, which was present in the original Hasbro version. This reissue is even better than the original with its badass gold color usage which I feel works better than yellow. Did you sticker him up yet? He just looks so much more badass and majestic with those on. You might get addicted to putting on new G1 stickers, which is a very understandable but expensive addiction ;)

Sorry for my fanboy moment here, I just love this toy and I am so glad others can enjoy him too :)

Oh, I totally agree, the Rhino and Bull have the best animal modes (they look so cool with those giant cannons on their backs). Razorclaw is probably my favorite robot mode though. I didn't know that about the Japanese version having no metal on it. I do think the Rhino has a bit too much metal on his back and he's a bit difficult to stand in robot mode if you don't have his legs just right. I haven't put the stickers on yet, because that's an intimidating amount to have to do. Also, the stickers on my Insecticons are starting to peel off already and I don't know why. I want to make sure to find a way to stop that before I put any on Predaking.

Sure, it take a long time to sticker G1 King up. Especially the Lion and Eagle parts. However, you'll see that it's really, really worth the time. Also, don't worry, Kings stickers stick really well. No peeling at all on mine and I think Will can confirm it too.

So, GET TO WORK!

I confirm, mine have not started peeling off and probably wont ever. They did a really good job with them. Also, for the Rhino, there is a small panel between his robot legs in the back that can be brought down. And it makes a world of difference.

I went to the flea market to day with my mom. She found her dream antique plank used to scrub and clean clothes while I found these goodies:

Image

G1 Bombshell (loose n floppy, but heh! Only Kickback left to get!)

G1 Tailgate (Yelloed, but fine and now I have a reason to keep the horible Generations Legend)

G1 Blaster (Cassette door cant open, half the handle and the "ears" on the head are gone, but bot mode is still glorious)

3rd party Bandit Slot Machine from 1984 (Nostalgia rush for that one, plus it's in prfect condition)

Finally, Gobots ambulance (Yellowed, one tire missing and one split, but still nice)

Not shown is around a dozen of scrap TFs for my horrible experiments!

Heh, I know the feeling. I'm terrible at bargaining and I all most always end up paying eBay prices whenever I go to a flea market. Nice pick up though Kanrabat! I do want to pick up the Blaster and Perceptor set when that comes out.

I really want that set when it will come out. If it's Seeker price, I will be all over it. If it's Platinum Butterscotch price, they will SHOVE IT.
Blaster in bot mode is literally LEADER sized! I'm really looking forward a perfect one.

Also, all the small bots ammounted to 5$ each (down from 8$). A pretty fair price, especially not having to order them online. Also, you can get a used insecticon with his gun for 20$ top on Ebay (plus ship). So, WHY THE FAWK DOES THE PLATINUM SELL FOR 110$?! Aaaaaaaaanywaaaaaaay....

One thing that really REALLY pleased me is finding the Slot Machine Bandit. That guy is in perfect condition and the slots gimmick still work. It's not a TF, nor even a Gobots, but I remembered having lots of fun with it as a kid. I completely forgoten about it... Until I saw the guy in slot machine mode behind the counter. The memories came rushing back to me, Vietnam-War PTSD flashback style! He had to be mine! :x

So, I had that black KO G1 Optimus Prime I kept around for a custom project. The idiot sho sent it to me didnt put any padding inside the box so he end up with the trailer door hinge broken. Still 100% complete though. I gave up the project when I saw that the G1 Nemesis Prime reprolabels cost 30$US. No way. So I brought it to the flea market for some store credit. The thing is worthless but I kinda got back my money by having a virtual 20$ for it. So I took Slot Machine Bandit (value of 12-25$) and the broken but still transformable G1 Blaster (value of at least 15-20$). Blaster will be sold for just 5$ to a guy who bought me a couple of stuff. I had a taste of G1 Blaster that way and I want a perfect one even more!

----------

Now, I'm off to a retro toys convention in Montreal thanks to a link Will provided! I may have some other things to show off tonight! 8)

That Slot Machine isn't 3rd Party (by current definition), he's a Mini-Spy called Bandit from Convertors, designed by Mark and released by Select. Lucky find on that! :APPLAUSE:

And that Ambulance? He's called Rest-Q :)

Right, the real reason I'm here. Thanks to chuckdawg1999 I can check off one of my more desired figures:

Image
Universe 2003 Target Exclusive Constructicon Devastator

Yeah, no photos this time around as he's currently being kept safe in the US, and I have yet to move. This will be my first exposure to the RiD2001 Landfill mold (aside from Heavy Load, got him already), can't wait :) Not only that, but he included the exclusive sticker sheet for Combiner Wars Superion and Menasor without me knowing! Guess the British aren't the only sneaky ones on here
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

the small things with baggie are the convention exclusives, some mini-con ripoff. get one free with a purchase of lottery tickets.

as for the three in the middle, you're close. they're actually Blockman figures, but with a custom sleeve around their styrofoam trays. these guys were the exclusives from the 2013 Katwijk meeting. one of the organisers of that meeting regularly goes to japan and takes all kind of stuff back with him. for the meeting, he bought a whole bunch of these and gave each a customised sleeve. he had a bunch of them left over and had them on sale at this convention. i had some money left over and decided to buy a couple (i already had a few from the meeting).

Very cool! Ya know, I don't think I new what they were originally called by Takara, but of course it was Blockman. They are cousins to Microman. Really neat with the custom touch. Ahhhh, 5mm p&p at it's heyday.
Great haul!

A bunch of stuff on my hunt today (described it more in detail in this thread). I dont even know the names to some. The best deal was getting those three minibots for 5$ a piece. This entire lot cost me 52$ US plus 2.50$ for entry to this retro toy expo.

Today, there was a "geeky" toy convention in some hotel in Montreal. I went and came back with a nice little haul, for a decent price overall:

An amazing find for an obscene price: Marvel Crossover Venom, great condition and complete for... 5$!

Some Gobots: Driller, lift, long truck, and the snakey Rocklord.

G1 Actionmaster banzaitron, complete with gun and spider thing with card.

G1 Punch/Counterpuch without guns, but very clean and very tight. Quite a little engeneering marvel that one.

G1 Rewind, good condition and complete. A bit expensive at 20$, but cheaper than Ebay and it's a pre-emptive srtike for the upcoming Platinum Blaster/Perceptor duopack!

And finally, ROTF scout Skids and Barricade's cousin.

Lena from Ebay sent me a duo of NECA Aliens. One for me, and one for my soon to be 14yo neice, new fan of the thing! She will NEVER see that gift coming! ^^

Near the hotel, there was a TrU and a Walmart. I checked both of these places out and they had not much. Beside, it look like an army of Tasmanian Devils whent trhough the toys! I still managed to find a One Step Thunderhoof. Man, that thing is AWESOME!

Today was an expensive, but nice day.
Come see my latest creation, the COMPLETE combiner team, Scorponok and his Pretenders, forming SHELLSHOCK
