I don't like posting what "on the way" because then you're just inviting a disaster like the plane crashing, boat sinking, package being eaten by a tiger, ect.

Been there a few times myself. :(

Picked up my second G2icus yesterday from a nice local fella. Upgrading my Blast-off (Renderform) was kinda pointless if he was going to spend his life as an arm

Been there a few times myself. :(

A few weeks ago Mandarake sent me the entirely wrong package (not Transformers related) because they were in the middle of changing the way they process their auction stuff. The entire order was around $150 shipped in eight boxes. They were super nice about refunding my money (but not the shipping) and let me keep what they did send me, which wasn't anything I would have payed ¥1,500 for (what I paid for what was supposed to be in that box). They said whoever got my order didn't contact them, which isn't a huge surprise since it was worth waaaay more than what I paid.

Speaking of Mandarake (and getting back on topic):

20170729_202740.jpg

Got Jazz from them for ¥1,600 (about $14.45) to pad shipping costs of some other items since a lot of people seemed to rave about how nice the Takara Tomy version was.

Bee came from AmiAmi for about $74 shipped.

Walked into TRU today with the sole intention of getting Skullitron (I REALLY needed a new toy to make up for the fact I'd had car problems 90km from home so I needed a calmer). He was near the door along with a few other movie figures.

Grabbed him, then made my way to main TF section. He was promptly put back on the shelf (no qualms about him selling out, there were plenty) and grabbed TLK Leader Megatron.

Will post about him in the TLK Toys thread.

Car boot sale haul!

Well ya know how I got Primus a month ago from a car boot sale? Lookee who I got today?
Image

UNICROOOONNN!!! Sure he's missing some parts like the wings and planet chompy bit and one of the inner forearm covers (but oddly has four of his missiles but still a whole lot of plastic for a few quid.
Also G1 Snaptrap, RID 3 step mega Optimus Prime thingy (not sure why I bought it but it's kinda neat in it's own way and was just 50p) and the Silver Knight two pack Grimlock (missing a few lil bits but can make battle damaged) which is odd cos I literally this morning sold my complete one on eBay. :P

Oh and this isn't the whole haul. Part 2 is coming later cos was too large for me to get back on my bicycle (even if these ones hadn't filed up my backpack, frickin' Unicron stabbing me in the back all the way home) Part 2 is one item but one I'm looking very much forward to playtesting and checking it's all cool. I couldn't get it back so gave it to my friend who had a car there and they'll drop it round when they're done there. :D

My friend dropped off my main car boot haul item just now!

It's.... OMEGATRON!!! Omega Supreme's evil british twin!

Nice box. Bit stained at top but hey it's old.
Image

Lots of pieces! Looks like it's all there. Good good.
Image

Instruction manual! I'm gonna need this. :D
Image

More pics to come when I have it set up. :D

I've never handled an Omega Supreme so this is new to me. Cost me £20 which I think is a good price.

Is Omegatron a vintage KO, a recent KO, or an unnoficial Omega Supreme that came out at the same time as the official one? You know, like Astro Magnum and Shockwave? Both were the exact same toy, the exact same quality, but in the odd times were there was multiple licences?

It's an original 1980s toy and from what I understand Grandstand had the UK license for the toy so Hasbro didn't release Omega Supreme here so very similar to what you mention with Shockwave there.

I've set it up in rocket base mode. Seems to be only missing the two very smallest clips but they don't seem all that important. What surprised me is that the electronics do still work. I wasn't expecting that due to it's age and that I recall it being mentioned Omega's motor is prone to failure. Here's a pic. I've got a video too but I'll upload that in a lil while. :P

Omegatron is from a different company, Hasbro simply licensed the mold as they did with the likes of Whirl, Roadbuster etc.

Plus there's Mechabot-1

And for 20 pounds ... damn man, I don't think you quite understand how much of a bloody steal that is.

Yep I read it all. and Yep I'm very pleased with my purchase. :D

Robot mode pic that shows he's not hugely smaller than Primus or Unicron. Damn that car boot sale in Fordham's been super generous with giant Transformers lately. :D
Image

Videos that show the electronics working!
Walking! Slowness is acceptable cos he's a giant.

Patrol. I knew the tank goes around the track, I never knew the turret rotated by itself.

This is a fun toy. A bit of a chore to convert between modes since it's very much a partsformer (that was never originally designed as a real Transformer so that's ok). The two tiny clips are definitely missing but they only go on the back of the legs and the medium clips keep that area together just fine anyways so it's not a huge deal considering the age of this thing and how everything else is here and in good condition.

Damn it's been a good haul day. :D

Thanks dude (also I just noticed you subbed my youtube. I've just been using that as an occasional video dumping ground but I may form it into a proper channel at some point)
Yeah it's a fun toy. I'm really impressed by how well everything clicks together too and how the electronic tank/walk features work. For an early 80s toy from a small now obscure japanese company it's really pretty awesome.

Also I like the fiction written on the box by Grandstand. Omegatron is the Lord of the Evil Convertors. Which makes him already more badass than Omega Supreme. Oh and earlier Omegatron slowly walked into Unicron and although it wasn't with enough speed or power to even wobble Unicron, the fact Omegatron even tried is also badass in itself. :P

Hm looking on ebay UK. I don't even see Omegatron on there at present and the other Grandstand Converters aren't exactly cheap either (mainly Alphatron) and they're not even Transformer related. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from ... s&_sacat=0

Yessir and thanks for sharing.
Anything that has a TF derivative, whether pre-TF like Diaclone/ Microman or a semi concurrent release like Converters, jumps up in desirability if molds are shared with "Official" TF releases.
It is also a great way to see the evolution of ideas that eventually led to our unified TF line.

For reference; a new Diaclone guide book just came out, mostly in Japanese, but it shows the whole line and what was cherry picked to be in the the HasTak TF line.
While Converters are a line unto their own, the breadcrumbs of information tracing through these areas gives an idea of the larger toy world the TFs are a part of.

Happy hunting!!!

EDIT:
PS, I was thinking the beat from Ice Cube's "Good Day" playing in the background would have been appropriate.

Hm I feel a bit guilty now cos I'm not a hardcore collector and certainly have no interest in buying up any more G1 stuffs or anything like that (. I'm mostly into movie TF figures these days with a few updated G1 characters in Classics/Titans/whatever sorta thing. But I just go with whatever sparks my interest. I've certainly no plans to sell on Omegatron at present as I really like it but I do feel some folk out there now may hate me a bit but for having stumbled upon something purely accident that they may have been hunting for ages. :O

Yep I guess so. Ok, Omegatron's stood on the shelf that has my original Powermaster Optimus Prime (my only Transformer left of my actual childhood collection and one I have birthday memories of so find too hard to want to part with. You can see him in the above pic of Omegatron in robot form in front of Prime and Unicron with PM Prime behind). PM Prime hasn't had an appropiate adversary for quite some time so seeing as how Omegatron is an evil leader from the 80s I reckon he fits the bill just fine. :D

Been cool chatting to you, sir. Hope you find some good hauls soon. :)

One word of advice, keep him well away from the sun and also play with him every now and then.

My Omegatron (variant with chrome chest and rocket pieces) is starting to yellow and also is very VERY stiff, to the point I'm going to have to undo some screws and loosen things up before trying to move his arms.

@ Burn; interesting.
I will have to store that knowledge away.
Are we talking plastic itself stiff or some of the mechanics internally stiff?
And could the internal, if so, be solved with something like a WD40 pen?
Thanks in advance.

@ Carnivus
Just got in on the GADEP eHobby reissue on RK.
Its not Omegatron, per se, but will fill that mold gap for the time being.

I had to look up what that was. I see it's the blue/white Guardian robot release from the cartoon but thankfully not at fat as they were in the cartoon (no idea why they were like that when Omega wasn't). Very cool colour scheme. :)
