Been there a few times myself.
-Kanrabat- wrote:Is Omegatron a vintage KO, a recent KO, or an unnoficial Omega Supreme that came out at the same time as the official one? You know, like Astro Magnum and Shockwave? Both were the exact same toy, the exact same quality, but in the odd times were there was multiple licences?
Burn wrote:Omegatron is from a different company, Hasbro simply licensed the mold as they did with the likes of Whirl, Roadbuster etc.

And for 20 pounds ... damn man, I don't think you quite understand how much of a bloody steal that is.

I have only seen a few of those over the years; never in hand , always online and never for such a good price.
Very nice setup man.
That has been on the long list for me for quite a while.

Anything that has a TF derivative, whether pre-TF like Diaclone/ Microman or a semi concurrent release like Converters, jumps up in desirability if molds are shared with "Official" TF releases.
It is also a great way to see the evolution of ideas that eventually led to our unified TF line.
For reference; a new Diaclone guide book just came out, mostly in Japanese, but it shows the whole line and what was cherry picked to be in the the HasTak TF line.
While Converters are a line unto their own, the breadcrumbs of information tracing through these areas gives an idea of the larger toy world the TFs are a part of.
Happy hunting!!!
EDIT:
PS, I was thinking the beat from Ice Cube's "Good Day" playing in the background would have been appropriate.

You just gotta do you and enjoy what you enjoy.
Done deal.

Just got in on the GADEP eHobby reissue on RK.
Its not Omegatron, per se, but will fill that mold gap for the time being.
