Got FansProject "Slag" in today, and the MicroBlaze Creations FOC Onslaught with parts for Bruticus.

Both excellent toys. MBC could use a few QC changes. Otherwise I would rate it an A-. The FP Dinobots are A++ all the way. Cant wait until the rest come out next year. The "Slag" Cubrar has an articulated tail, similar to the "Sludges" neck design. They both look fantastic.

Slag has amazing balance as well shown here.

@Kanrabat - NOICE!
You got everybody minus ro-tor as a set right? Great old classic figures in any release.
You are going Gestalt crazy!

@MenaceRX - Man, that Onslaught really does it right for that spindly Brute.
How is he as a single toy? Is he about Voyager size?

RiD Ruination without Ro-Tor was just 19$, bought locally. Unfortunately, the cheapest Ro-Tor was a sealed one for 35$ shipped. Still a great deal overall. The individual bot modes are complete garbage but the vehicles are great and the combined robot is awesome.

BTW, that 3p "Onslaught" IS voyager sized. Worth it if you like FOC Bruticus but think the deluxe torso is crap.

That's what I did too. A bummer that this trailer is empty and this set have no mectech weapons at all. Still, It a OP with trailer and it's always good!

Sounds very different from RID Landfill. His combiner mode is ok, not as nice as Ruination. Its actually quite solid and sleek but also all over the place (since they can combine in any order). But what really saves this combiner for me is the individual robots. They have great modes, both construction vehicles and robots.

drawbacks though, are his colors only kinda suit two versions (retail and platinum/SDCC), and disassembling of arm bots to incorporate the 3P pieces.

the alternative is the boosticus upgrade set. made in all the colors of the rainbow, and at half the price. but obviously you get what you pay for. boosticus fills out your combiner nicely, but the detail and quality of MB is much higher and arguably makes the nicest looking bruticus.

Image
*note: two versions not present, solid black version and "shiney" takara version*

just sayin though, theres options ;)

@WillyJ - Glad you like those guys. I always thought their combination design was interesting and unique, with that central hub. Don't you think that lil' dozer is just drenched in Takara awesomeness? That head sculpt is super sweet, and I love that when he punches you it leaves tread marks imprinted in yer face.

@Jaki - Does that boosticus set make him more stable? Are those some feet add-ons?
And by disassembling do mean screw drivers and shtufff? That always makes me a little nervous.

EDIT:sorry your dis-assembly comment was for the Onslaught figure. So the add-on kit is just plug and play?

boosticus is all snap on stuff. MBC makes you dissasemble blast off at every ball joint and peg almost, vortex likwise but slightly better. i really dont like it, but you cant argue with the results.

honestly what id like to do is:
-get a boosticus for my G2 bruticus
-get a boosticus for my takara bruticus
-get MBC for a fruiticus i dont even own (which i would then have to go buy)

MBC is almost that awesome, but thats a lot of money and id be content with my two sporting boosticus's's.

Get the Boosticus for your G2. I did, I don't regret it even one bit. A really nice set and worth the money. Changes the entire set, drastically. I like the MBC Onslaught, I really do, because he's so bulky and looks so fantastic, but that disassembly thing just terrifies me. I still say we're going to see at least some damaged figures in the future. Especially Blast Off.

Just couldn't argue with Targets sale prices. $18.99 for Galvatron and half off Snarl.
Cheap crack still gets ya high.

Been eying Galvatron for a while, and I'm a sucker for all that green and translucent on the dino.

Dont bother trying to store the fin part of the axe on the dino's back. Stick it under his butt instead.

I remembered your post. It was the first thing I did out da wrapper. It looks cool, and works good. ;)

I like him alright. I like his dino mode, except for his head. The fake head in his right leg is funny. Robo mode cool, but, the hands. Feet are cool. Neat weapons. good color and great translucency.

-Kanrabat- wrote:Also, for what he is, you'll love Galvy!
I DO!
When I look at him I don't see a TransformerTM, but, I do see a really cool and interesting evil robot action figure. That head sculpt is super MEAN! The WHOLE sculpt. And his NECK! Colors are good. Arm canon, cool. He's fawking Maniacal! I DIG it.
Transformation =   but, that truck is so dope and mean lookin' too.

I think both these guy are gonna go join The Fallen as Acroyors on my Microman shelf.
