Toysrus was having a 50% off sale on all their Deluxe TFs from last year. It was also the very first time I ever saw a Windblade at toysrus, so I snatched it up for my little cousins who was wondering if they made girl Tfs, and who has a birthday coming up.
I just grabbed Nightbeat and Jhiaxus from that exact sale, but in Toronto. I was hoping to grab Crosscut too, but they had sold out, so I will be checking another TRU tomorrow and hoping it still has some.
It's a damned shame that I didn't grab the Armada Starscream version of the mold, because I love the Jhiaxus and would love to have another deco and head on it... but I find that one of Jhiaxus's arms has full movement in one direction (like a regular human elbow) and then his other arm cant bend like a human, but bends backwards way more than it needs to... are QC issues why Combiner Wars is made in Viet Nam instead of China?
Nightbeat is cool, I want to make him a trenchcoat and hat so I can recreate some old Marvel G1 scenes... but he kind of feels loose in ALL of his joints, and his colours feel very poorly applied. I wouldn't likely have gotten either figure at full price, but at half cost it was worth it.
My last Winners trip in Toronto was fruitless, they only had non transforming TF toys (I really don't get the appeal of that AT ALL) but maybe when I go tomorrow they will have something (same mall as the TRU)...
