I have Swerve. I bought him a bit after Cosmos, when I really wanted something new. He was indeed here, with Cosmos, and there was a lot of him everywhere.
Yeah. I was wondering if you meant Gears. I only saw Gears/AcidStorm ONCE at Target and never again.
I don't think I ever saw Gears/AcidStorm. Starscream/Megatron either. I had to buy Megs and Screamers off Ebay for crying out loud!
I think we got Megs/Screamer but just really sparsely. I sure never saw them though. Man... Canada really sucked for Legends hey?

Y'know what else I never saw? Ruination/Bruticus.

You know what guys, it could very well be that Swerve was sold out by the time I cared to get him or know who he was. In this past year, my transformer knowledge rose astronomically (it helps to have Sabrblade and Jelze around) and I also started reading the comics. So it could very well be that he was at walmart where Cosmos was and I just never paid any attention to him since I had no clue who he was. And thats maybe why I have no recollection of ever seeing him.

You're gonna love Springer. ;)^ Pardon my ignorance. I'm extra awful with names sometimes. Who are the other two? AOE dudes?

Junk Heap uses the RTS Wreck Garr mold (Moosey, please be careful with that toy, do not transform him too often or else his handlebar will surely break, it is a serious flaw and I hope you dont end up in the same position as so many other fans). And I am pretty sure the other is generations Sky Shadow.

Thanks for the warning William James. why is it that the handle bars break so easy? Cobo, I was super jazzed when I found springer at the convention, I hope springer's ego doesn't outdo the figure itself!

Oh, I understand that. Anything that's not Generations/CW/RID is a blur to me. Back when Animated/Prime was the thing I pretty much ignored it. I can probably only name or picture half the figures from those lines.

From WIKI:

Pulling up on the gas tank during transformation causes his rubber handlebars to be dislodged and moved to the side. Do NOT unhinge the handlebars manually: doing so creates stress points in the hinges that connect them to the gas tank, resulting in many reported instances of breakage. Unfortunately, many have found that the nubs that hold the handlebars in place in bike mode are too strong, and even using the automorph as intended causes damage. Cutting the nubs off has been the only consistent fix to prevent breakage. Wreck-Gar is also sadly prone to stress marks and potential fractures in his hands and helmet-horns.

Yeah, same here. I'm utterly disgusted with the figures I passed up while not caring or knowing much of current comic story last year.

I was like that for a while too. I didn't really pay attention to the toys until recently and only watched the shows without delving too much into anything else. Started reading the comics and coming across a lot of classic characters I never heard of (I never knew who the Aerialbots were until the Combiner Wars stuff started). Now I kinda want to go back and collect Prime/Armada/Beast Wars again. Like I don't have enough to collect already with TMNT, the new Transformers stuff and my retro gaming collection. Why do we do thing like this to ourselves?

Man, I was just saying that I wanted to pick up Voyager Class Hound last night and look who I bumped into at a Kmart while running errands.

Image

The Kmart there also had the Platinum G1 Insecticons, which I all most grabbed. Unfortunately, I couldn't justify spending $80.00 on one item so late in the week, maybe on payday.

And then I immediately made a hypocrite of myself by purchasing Voyager Class Galvatron while food shopping at Wal-Mart.

Sure, I can give my thoughts on them. I haven't opened the three I purchased today, but I'll throw my thoughts out on the Dinobots I picked up.

First off, I think all three look great no matter which mode you put them in. The new coloring (rather than movie accurate colors) really helps them pop out and I especially love the purple and pink on Slug. I also really love the splitting the head to make the shoulder pads on Slug and Grimlock (especially to reveal the robot mode head on Slug). I do have a couple of small problems with each toy though (but what toy doesn't have one or two nitpicky things, right?).

First Grimlock, his T-Rex arms are really small and I'm constantly afraid that they may pop off whenever I'm moving them around for transformation. Also, his back likes to come unpegged from his tail when I'm moving him around and posing him. For Slug, the ribs can be a right pain in the butt when transforming either way. The seem to get in the way of the rest of the transformation and it can be hard to get them into position when going to Dino mode. For Strafe, his legs are a bit hard to position it seems like. It can be a bit difficult to get him to stand. Also, I can't really find a good pose for him in Dino mode without a stand (which I don't have at the moment). It looks like he's just flopping around on his belly and looks a bit silly.

Out of the three, I think Slug is my favorite with Strafe being my least favorite (though that by no means makes him a bad toy).

I had passed up on a lot of the non-Dinobot releases that came out last year, and then I found myself ultimately regretting that when I really started wanting to get ahold of Hound and Crosshairs.

Now this image here just taunts me. Mockingly...

Still, I'd love to know how they are. Maybe see about looking around at other stores or putting an order online.

I didnt like Strafe at first either but then I saw what you could do with the toy (in the images below) and my idea changed completely. The first image below is mine (the other 2 arent) to show you how you could pose him in beast mode without him having his belly on the floor:

Yeah, I was super happy with this haul!! I apologize for accidentally calling Sky Shadow "Black Shadow," that was his name in the IDW-Verse. I am super happy about both figures, they both are amazing, and springer; need I say more? The con was definitely a success. :ic$:

I think I liked Strafe just cause of the giant wings, and the SDCC G1 version all chromed up is really impressive.

Which Dino's are you missing now? I would honestly say, don't worry about Slash (the one who didn't make it in the movie) if you can't find him. He was pretty "meh" to me, but I'd understand if you wanted him just to say you got em all

Let's see, I would need to get Scorn, Slash, Snarl and Slog in order to finish off the Dinobots. I'm still debating whether to get the Leader Class ones, which would add Leader Class Grimlock to the list. I'm definitely a gotta get them all kind of guy though.

William, that last image is actually really cool looking, gives me some ideas for posing. Thanks a lot!

Even more familier as I lived in Chicago for 14 years. Glad to know you're rockin' the G.C.L.A. (greater chicago land area ;) )

I'll let the other fellas field the Dino questions. Not a big movie guy. Although I do have Slag (?) he's ok. The translucent green saves him for me.

I'll be honest, dinobots were the only thing from AOE worthy of shelf space in my collection. I really enjoy all of their plastic incarnations. Daughter got McD's Grimlock, the lucky tyke...I'm still stuck with Bumblebee. The wifey is happy as she got something to add to her beehive too. I degraded my newborns masculinity by giving my bee to him, lol.

Weapon: Big Cannon
So, I just opened the three that I purchased last night and can throw my thoughts on each figure out there. Let's start with the Deluxe figure Crosshairs. I actually don't like him that much. He's coat seems to get in the way of things constantly. Also, when going to car mode, I was having a really hard time getting his shoulders and hands into place at the end. Either his shoulders didn't want to hook in when his hands were in place or his hands couldn't get into their pegs when the shoulders were set. I've finally got him in an acceptable state, but I still can't get everything to snap together solidly.

Next is Galvatron. His robo mode is a little meh to me, but I love the transformation. The pop up to reveal the cab is a great idea and I'm really surprised that I've never seen it on a Transformer before (though I don't know every Transformer ever so that may not be the case). There is a big gap on his trailer section, but his gun does a pretty nice job of hiding it, even if there an tab to actually place it there.

Finally, I LOVE Hound. I think they did a great job with him and his robot mode looks like it came directly from the movie. He also has a pretty fun transformation, with hiding the head in the cab area and then swinging the arms around to form the back end. I also love that he comes with a ton of guns that you can combine into on massive, all most silly looking gun.

From favorite to least: Hound, Galvatron and Crosshairs. Crosshairs is definitely my least favorite one of the entire Age of Extinction lineup and I think I will probably feel the same way about Hot Shot when I pick him up.
