Its not the same as with generations, RID waves consist of reused characters constantly. Here is the wave cobo found, wave 9:



You can see that Scorponok is part of that wave, but Windblade isnt. So ocam's razor points to the fact that Cobo's stores skipped the windblade wave (wave 8 ) and only got wave 9.

No, Rewind's alt mode is like a mini cassette recorder, like the kind you'd use in a college lecture. You can tell because of the mini cassette tape that's the primary detail on the stickers.

Thanks for your replies, but a flat out "no" is never a good way to start a post, especially when you don't have any official sources backing it up. It was said in hasbro interviews at events that the casete you see is just the background image of the phone's screen, giving it a g1 homage. As you can see below,not all of these smartphones have that background image, only some and it differs between hasbro and takara.

That's the reason I followed my "no" with an explanation of what the alt mode looked like to me. It's not like I said "No" and left, or claimed that his alt mode was a space ship simply because I felt that way. True, I didn't look for pictures, I didn't realize that that was where I'd gone wrong.

I suppose I did that thing again, where I forgot that I was supposed to enjoy toys based on what the producing company would want. Chastened, I have suddenly remembered that TR Rewind is the greatest, funnest smartphone alt mode Transformer I have ever witnessed, and retract all of my previous, better reasoned commentary.

That's wheird.

At a TRU I saw the exclusive wave - awesome PSOP, Starscream, Paralon and what ever wave makes up -vanilla PSOP, Windblade and Scorponok. According to the wiki that is wave 7. I've seen the TRU exclusive wave at two different TRUs, but I have yet to see 7 again.

Ratchet, Bisk and Scatterspike are wave 8 according to our pals at tfwiki.

I haven't seen much new in a while. We had a brief showing of TR wave 2 deluxes and since just a flood of wave 1. OH and Blaster and PMOP is out in force at Walmarts now.

I'm going be jealous if that Nemesis PSOP. I didn't know that was a thing until it was too late.

I also thought the TR "cassettebots" were phablets as well? CW Devy sure thinks so.

It wasn't a "fun discussion". I wasn't making preposterous claims or anything, and my statement about the alt mode wasn't originally belligerent or anything. You're the one lecturing me on my response, as if I just said 'no' and then walked away or was antagonistic, when I gave a pretty reasonable explanation of what I thought his alt mode was, despite being incorrect against the all-important 'interviews at events.' I didn't name call or anything when explaining or insult anyone when I gave my reply. I usually don't research what the 'panels' say about toys; I generally make my own judgments. I was always under the impression that that was alright.

I still don't like the figure, which is apparently the real issue here. So, I'm sorry. I'm going to go and jam my iPhone into a tape deck now so I can relax with some music, as apparently that's what Hasbro based the Blaster/Rewind play pattern on from real life.

It never was, I enjoy hearing critiques on toys, getting a full idea of it. I myself dont think he is all that great, the forearms are an issue but its still a fun take on the character and I like seeing new and updated takes on designs

I LOVE the new windblade but why Hasbro chose to put that much red on her? The TAV version is indeed better even though it's double or triple the price when counting $ conversion and shipping. Reprolabels don't reduce the cost either.

Oh well, my Hasbro is good enough as is.

She has very dyamic legs that and great balance so fun poses are easily achieable. I would have loved some wrist joints, especially to go with her fan but aside from those, the articulation is good. She is built really solid, unlike the original flimsier windblade we got in the generations line. Everything has been streamlined in comparison so that pieces fit in together better, most especially the feet and tail fin piece which is now one piece instead of 2. That makes the halves combine together better. She also doesn't feel hollow and the jet mode stays together really well with 0 gap at the top (unlik the original version). I also really like the weapon integration, where the legs connect to create a really nice port for you to store the sword and that sword has just the exact curvature to match the undercarriage. I also like the landing gear at the front and how they make it really easy to fold out thanks to an extra nib. The jet ends up being perfectly horizontally elevated when landed.

My only problem with this figure is the large backpack which looks terrible in picutres (but for some reason is very tolerable in hand), the lack fo wrist swivel, and the lack of black paint. However, Takara doesnt paint the underside of the jet so the red is very abundant in their version too. There is less of it, but its still not that great, hence why I went for Hasbro (it will also end up costing me at least half of what Takara's would cost me).
Also, the jet looks chubby rather than sleek, but its far more solid than before.

Kanrabat, have you thought of giving her some black touch ups?

And Carry, this wave does not seem to be of abundance in the US, with some retailers skipping it (for now), so windblade might end up being one of those toys to be a valued commodity simply due to poor distribution. But that would be short term sicne she will probably show up in other waves though, no RID bot was ever in just one wave.

On second thought, I think I prefer her full red. Even if she's not very detailed, it make the RID version completely different than the very black Generations. And that's pretty fine in my book.
