Transformers Toy haul thread

To me it doesn't look like a train though. I get where you're coming from, but it misses the mark. Not by much mind you, but enough for my girlfriend to call it "someone doing the splits".

It is pretty abstract, yeah. I'm sure with some paint on the train bits it would be more obvious, but I can totally agree that it doesn't look very...trainy.
And again, I don't think it works for Astrotrain- he needs to be a big ol' diesel locomotive. Honestly I wouldn't mind if they fudged the space shuttle mode a bit in service of the train, I've always thought that triple changers with Earth vehicle modes have one "actual" vehicle mode and one mode that's not intended for disguise at all so much as utility or combat power- so Blitzwing might have a fairly convincing tank mode, but his jet mode (whilst hopefully still cool looking) is basically a tank shifted into a more aerodynamic shape. See AoE Drift's helicopter mode.

That's definitely an interesting way to look at them. It would definitely take the pressure off the designers who are probably told "make three good looking modes".

My feelings pretty much exact. I picked up Astrotrain a while back on sale, bit was never really happy. Now that I've actually seen Tankor and Blitzwing, I feel much better. Still haven't changed him back to train mode after that first time though.
On topic, the voyager Megatron and Optimus started showing up in my area. I sold my first copy of megs awhile back due to poor qc, but figured I take another chance and bought a new Megatron.
The joints are tighter, bUT that same arm panel won't stay clipped on in jet mode. I really hope this is fixed with Blitzwing.

That was my thought too. Safe to say, if I ever fulfil my dream of learning to design toys and I make my own 3P company/get a job working for HasTak, expect an Astrotrain with a proper loco mode and a dieselpunk spacecraft/"space train" mode at some point.

I will repeat for the LAST time. You can post your transformers haul here, but any further discussion of 3p items (whether they be in the haul or not) will have to be had in the 3p forum.
If you have any news, rumours, or hot new sightings to report which you feel should be front paged,

Guys, just to avoid a stink, I will reinforce Will's statement.
We try to keep official and 3P separate here on Seibertron as per the site owner's request.
If a 3P product is to fall in with a haul of official product, we let it slide, but if you want to showcase a cool 3P figure you got. We have a place for that.
Thanks!

Same. Went through the motions of changing him into each alt mode (all of which were INCREDIBLY simple, frankly Bumblebee was more fiddly) and back to robot mode and that's where he'll stay.

A hard earned haul today. Lots of running around. Nothing too special, I could have gotten laser Prime as well but I have too many Optimi already.

Not a great pick, but not easy to get on the dash.

got it for 110 bucks on amazon. Now to sell my Takara Magnus, and figure out if I'm keeping this springer, or my generations version.
Oh yeah, didn't take a pic yet, but I also got MP Loud petal today.

The Entertainer currently has Voyager Prime and Megatron at £21.60 each. Down from the silly price of £27. Though not as silly as them asking £23 for a Deluxe.
I bought Wirewolf from Forbidden Planet in Cambridge for £17.99. I didn't like the photos but I thought I'd try the figure in person and see how it looks. It... doesn't look much better than the photos. Robot mode is average. Kinda boring. Wolf mode just looks too long, mishapen and gangly with silly chunky paws. May still repaint it into Carnivac with some heavy slicking/dicing/gluing though.
Would show a pic of Wirewolf but I lost my damn phone in Cambridge too.

I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool!

Thankfully the Stagecoach bus company found my phone. So I was able to take a pic of Wirewolf.

I've warmed more to the robot mode. It's not great and some aspects bug me (I hate the disc-shaped things by his knees. Wish they were maybe hinged by his hips, then it would look cooler attaching his sword sideways onto one.
Wolf form still crummy but I'm gonna work with it and see if I can make it more the way I'd like.
Also it may seem odd but I really miss being able to tilt his tail upwards. G1 WW had a hinge like bit to plug the sword into. Cybertron Snarl had the hinge in the sword. This has nothing.

So, a little story for you all. A couple of months back, my wife suddenly found herself, how should we say, occupationally challenged. By this, I mean that the hospital she worked at decided that instead of providing its patients with the competent and well trained nursing staff currently working there, they would "downsize" them all, an hire medical assistants for less than half the price of a nurse. Any way, they did this with no warning, and my wife freaked out.
See, this was very unexpected. We had just wiped out our savings, to put on our house, lowering payments and cutting years off the mortgage. To help ease her fears, I sold off a huge chunk of my higher end collection pieces to have some spare money on hand.
Luckily, she got a new job right away, and even makes almost as much as she did before, so, I get to now rebuild some of the pieces I sacrificed. Here is the first one.

I'm actually quite happy, as I bought my original MP Soundwave second hand, and he had a number of tiny little flaws on him. While this one is a reissue, it is brand new and very pristine.
