Wow it looks in perfect shape! It's rare to find an 87 Maximus with shiny white parts like that! Reminds me when I first bought Fort Max from another collector way back in 2001. He was complete MIB, and his white parts were pristine. He goes perfectly with ER Scorponok.

His appearance is why I saved for a few months to buy him. I actually thought for a few months that he was just a display piece and not for sale, since this is the first and only original release I've seen in person not to mention that on the other side of the case to bookend it was a similar condition Brave Maximus. Most of the stickers are like new on him too. I just don't have a box, not that he'd ever really be in it .

I haven't seen an ER Scorpy, but I scored a Titan's Return Fort Max like new in box for less than retail a couple of years ago. Who knows how I'm gonna display my 4 titans now? I don't know if they'll all fit in my china cabinet...

I have Encore 23 Fortmax and he's so good, even the modern Titan cannot dare to compare.

So to have the ORIGINAL release... now THAT'S Grail worthy!

I got too caught up in playing with plastic goodness over the weekend that I forgot to post my Christmas haul.

MP Arcee arrived today, in an Amazon Japan box that was in no way intended to be shipped internationally. The top is perforated to make it easy to open, but it partially ripped open already, and the side flap came unglued (there's no tape on the box) and was completely opened and DHL couldn't be bothered to tape it back up. The moment I picked up the box the entire contents (there's a sales flier in the box) fell out onto my porch. Haven't opened it yet, but the figure itself seems fine (I mean, it's still MP Arcee), but I feel like I'm lucky I wasn't sent an empty box.

I lucked out big time today, thanks to my wife

After getting Airwave, I showed him off to her and expressed my desire to hunt for more because they were on Clearance (almost 50%, come on!). So yeah, she was willing to drive me around just for hunting, and struck gold on the first go:

At an unadvertised $10, the regular price tag wasn't replaced. Just the one I wanted.

That said, I don't think I'll see any more at that price point, everything was practically gone! Still lots of Snapdragons tho...

This Christmas ended up yielding some surprises and a wide variety of stuff. Megatron was an Ollies find for $15, though mine came without one of the back leg armor pieces. But that only adds to the battle damaged look. Mom found the Pops and said she intends to find me the other 2, those will head to my desk when I'm back in the office. Luke was necessary after Mando season finale. Rogue was free from Target after Gigawatt shipped and they gave me $20 for having 2 $80 orders, and the Snap Ship was $5 from Target too. And the wife gave me the little Grogus.

Yeah my Max was bought in late 88 from TRU and isn't so white but he is intact. Congrats on the grail.

So over Christmas I ordered myself a fair few TFs- I got God Neptune (no pics I'm afraid), ER Optimus Prime, Selects Super Megatron and ROTF Superion.

God Neptune is a hell of a set. The white looks much better in person, and the paint apps are nice and crisp. Also one of the few HasTak combiners that IMO needs absolutely no 3P addons to be perfect. The hands and feet are great and the proportions are excellent. Out of the team my favourite is probably either Scylla or Coelagon. Only slight combined mode problem is that Scylla does not make a very good leg, but honestly I prefer her as an arm anyway, canon be damned.

Optimus Prime is damn near perfect. He's the G1 Prime we've waited years for, and slight proportional issues and colour layout aside there's very little I'd change about him. A CHUG scaled G1 Prime would have to be a miracle to unseat this as the definitive Voyager Prime for me. Now can we please have that Armada Prime, Takara?

Super Megatron, whilst not quite as amazing as Prime, is a lot of fun. Really cool robot modes, and the different configurations are great to mess with- I like to have his weapon in cannon form with the "ultra" chest and the triple-barreled gun on his shoulder homaging the G1 back cannon. His alt modes aren't perfect but they're not terrible either, with a nice swooshable space jet mode and an abstract but still cool tank mode. I'm glad I got him anyway.

And then there's ROTF Superion. I wanted the Energon version (I had Windrazor and Terradive as a kid) but I couldn't find him for a sensible price, so I settled for the ROTF deco as it was only £30. Thanks to Mkall's guide from way back when I was able to fix his legs (even if I nearly ballsed it up several times) and honestly? Whilst he's not perfect, he's actually quite fun. Some tolerance tweaking with superglue was necessary, but for a £30 investment, you can't complain. The Raptor mold is my favourite, though the A-10 mold is great too and Stormjet, once you fix his legs, isn't awful. Of course they won't be representing Superion in my collection, rather his little brother Hyperion, made of the auxiliary Aerialbots. I described them in full in another thread, but here's my basic headcanon for who they are (incidentally the limbs are all female)-
Stormjet (the torso)- An interceptor plane who hates going too fast and wishes he was a slow-moving cargo freighter instead.
Windrazor (the white Raptor)- A hothead who loves fancy flying, she usually ends up using all her fuel with her afterburners.
Zephyr (the charcoal Raptor)- The polar opposite of her chassis-sister Windrazor, quiet, shy and bookish, and would rather be reading about aerial maneuvers that actually doing them.
Terradive (the burgandy A-10)- Obsessed with diving attacks, which she usually misjudges and ends up plowing into the ground. Fortunately she's tough as a tank.
Thunderbird (the pink A-10)- Has a massive crush on Stormjet and wishes she could go as fast as him, often has to be rescued after attempting high speed antics her slow ground-attack airframe wasn't built for.
Hyperion (the combined mode)- Smaller and weaker than Superion but faster and far more mentally stable and also more energy efficient.
(I do have the upgrade kit coming in the post but it will be a while.)

Wednesday- Kingdom Blackarachnia and Crossover Gigawatt came in from Target. I have a lot more stuff coming from them on the way for next week.

Thursday- Something very different. I've been waiting for a box from AmiAmi to ship since July, but not knowing how long shipping restrictions would last and myself being cheap I shipped it EMS (it was a large box, over $300 worth of stuff inside). It's just been sitting in my account for the longest time, but sometime around October they finally shipped it (it had their Halloween art card inside) in a bulk shipment to their US office where it finally got sent out to me. Strangely the order has now disappeared from my account, no idea why. Anyway, I bring it up because in the box was Transformers Fanbook 2020. I ordered this months before its release with no pictures or info to go by for two reasons; first it's a mook (magazine book) and those tend to have some interesting info info and pictures in them, and second because it mentioned coming with two figures. For $10 my curiosity was well and truly piqued. In the end the figures were just slight variants of The Last Knight Cyberverse (scale) Optimus Prime and Megatron releases and the book was less a mook and more a children's activity book full of puzzles and mazes and other games, nothing interesting. Oh well, worth taking a chance on.

Today- Struck out at Target trying to find Thrust. Ended up at Walmart because Dollar Tree closed early (never understood closing early on New Years Day, why not open late?), decided to pick up the last three Netflix figures I didn't have so I got Impactor, Wheeljack and Red Alert to finish out that line.

Target hauls x3. Vertabreak was a target pre-order that arrived today. My local Target had Thrust last night and Primal out today.

It was weird, I actually saw Primal in their boxes the employees were unloading, but they weren't Hasbro case boxes, they were bulk Target boxes with only 2 Primals and other non TF stuff. I'm guessing someone might have gotten Cyclonus from that case already and broken it down in the back before it made it out to the floor.

Just got these in the mail! They were supposed to have been here on the 22nd of December because Warpath is a Christmas Present for my brother, but then they got delivered to the wrong place. So I had to have them sent again. Worth the wait I think!

When Super Megatron was up for preorder, I somehow convinced myself that I did not need him. Well after watching reviews I bought one on ebay for not much more than retail. I am very happy that I did, he is just so cool. I love the battle mask face. This is what ER Megatron should have been, a nice fresh take on the character.

Also, a bit premature as I haven't got them in yet but I managed to snag a trio of Ironworks on eBay for the price of two. They're complete and in good nick, albeit boxless. So yeah, expect plenty of Ironworks fanmode posting soon!
