Just landed the whole of RTS wave 1 (Jazz, Tracks, Outback, and Mindset) from UK based retailer "Smyths" at a paltry £7.49 each  :D

I expected the Matrix to be plastic but it is metal...very interesting. You can throw it and it would actually put somebodies eye out.

I certainly think so. :D And given Christmas and going away afterwards, I probably won't even get through it all until after New Year.

Wahoo!

I found Generations Jazz and Tracks!

Well, I also bought myself another Dirge to open. So I transform him, and his right leg won't bend. I figure the joint is just tight, and SNAP! his right leg breaks off! I take a closer look and he has TWO LEFT THIGHS! I was basically bending the leg the wrong way! Hopefully Target will take him back...

Holiday greetings and Christmas haul

Postby Shadowstream » Wed Dec 29, 2010 5:39 pm

Weapon: No Weapon
Well it seems another year is coming to a close, and yet again I have very little to show for it. Then again I tend to think less of myself as time goes on so I wont have to be disappointed, so... whatever. We're not here to address my shortcomings though, just to wish everyone a happy new year and cover everything I received over the holidays.

Transformers: Call of the Future
Yeah, I know what you're all thinking right now but y'know what... screw you! It's G1 damnit! I don't care that the graphics are mediocre, the gameplay is repetitive, the story is bland, and the voice acting is sub-par. It's still entertaining in it's own cheezy way and the game models live up to their cartoon counterparts, especially the transformations! All that said though... I uh... haven't been able to actually play it yet. It is a Japanese title and I don't actually own a Japanese Playstation 2 to play it on. I was hoping to somehow fix and modify my old fat PS2 to play it with, but so far it seems I'm doing more damage than good to the thing right now... so yeah... I'll have to get back on that sooner or later. I guess it'd be a bit amiss if I didn't mention Persona 4, which is actually my brother's, but since this whole haul is shared between us anyway I guess I might as well point it out. I have a former friend to blame for this anyway since without them directing me to gameplay videos of this very game, my brother would have no interest in this series. So thanks a lot b****!

Transformers Generations
Sadly not the most desirable haul of figures from this line, but I guess it's better than nothing. Megatron and Soundwave, Cliffjumper and Skullgrin, and most pathetic of all; Thunderwing. I'll be reviewing this lot in full here eventually, but I might as well sum this guy up pretty quick: TOO DAMN SMALL!

Transformers HFTD
Back when the movie franchise started I attempted to boycott the whole thing since the entire premise sucked giant donkey balls, and overall it still does, but that argument aside I ended up indulging just a tiny bit into the toys that came after the second movie. Here recently I ended up with the following; Tomahawk and Terradive, Breacher and Sunspot, and Highbrow and Oilpan. *sigh* G******** Bay...

Transformers RTS
I've already reviewed Jazz so just add Turbo Tracks and Fallback to that list. They're all good, except that Fallback's vehicle panels are just slightly misaligned.

Transformers Masterpiece Grimlock
My one and only Masterpiece figure, Which is actually kind of sad since he has a relatively simple transformation compared to most masterpieces I've seen. But he's alright I guess.

Transformers Animated
Playing a bit of catch up on this series by getting Grimlock. Also Ironhide and Rodimus. Sadly Roddy doesn't quite live up to the hype in my book, if for only one reason. His vehicle mode looks epicly awesome from the front and certain angles, but when you look from the side it's just... too long.

3rd Party Products
I know I made a big fuss over wether or not it was worth picking up the Headrobots Hothead add-on set, but ultimately I caved and... well it does look better, but I'm still not sure 30 bucks was worth it for this. It is awesome, don't get me wrong... I just don't think it's 30 dollars worth of awesome. What was worth the wait and money though? Fansproject's very own Protector and Sidearm sets. Absolutely wonderful and I cannot say how much awesome this thing exhumes by being in my possession. I'll DEFINITELY be reviewing this later!

It's FunPub. It's their specialty.

don't take that to mean I'm a killjoy just because I can be, though...
