if I get any duplicates, I'll let people know through either the uk sightings forum or here. Pm me if you want them (that's if I get any, I've already got the original 12 pack so there isn't really a reason for me to actively hunt these down.)

Same here, I'm totally up for supplying (or swapping for anybody's own spare mini-cons!) if there are any left in my local shop.

The first Brimstone I find is mine though, I love that mould. That reminds me, I'm after Classics Nightscream, and I'll gladly do a swap for one of these new guys!

See!? This is the kind of stuff Hasbro should be doing in the U.S. as well, since Armada came out back on '03! Just toss minicons into cereal boxes, and have a label saying "Hey, kids! Buy our teeth rotting cereal and get a FREE Transformers minicon toy!" I'd jump on that promotion in a heart beat!

None in Tesco, plenty in Tesco petrol station. I got Suppressor and Boltflash and they are identical to the box-set versions, QC aside. The sweets are made of old glue. There may be variants, looks like Waspy found one. This could become a sub-habit.....

Now the question is, how many variants exist for each Mini-Con? And how rare are they?
This could prove to be expensive as f**k to have an entire set.

Word. I scoured the place and there was no sign of them but the petrol station outside had them in abundance. Don't know why, don't get it but there it is. This was Tesco Extra in Newport.

Ok, have been monitoring this thread but not had time to post, so this is what I've figured so far...

I'll edit THIS post with any info we do or don't find. I found contact info for the confectionary company concerned and have emailed them, but have yet to recieve a response.

The teams are as follows;

Safeguard Team

Flatfoot @TFU - No known variant at time of writing (Sample found).
Heavytread @TFU - No known variant at time of writing (Sample found).
Makeshift @TFU - No known variant at time of writing (Sample found).

Overcast Team

Boltflash @TFU - No known variant at time of writing (Sample found).
Cloudraker @TFU - "Remoulded Rotor/Vibrant Green" Variant found 12thDec2010 .
Skyhammer @TFU- No known variant found at time of writing, but all samples misassembled (Sample found).

Landslide Team

Backstop @TFU - No known variant at time of writing (Sample found).
Bodyblock @TFU - "Orange Suspension" Variant found 12thDec2010.
Knockdown @TFU - No known variant at time of writing (Sample found).

Ransack Team

Blight @TFU - No known variant at time of writing (Sample found).
Brimstone @TFU - "Green Dragon" Variant found 07thDec2010.
Supressor @TFU - No known variant at time of writing (Sample Found).

EDIT: List now complete as of 13thDec2010, with all 12 Mini-Cons found and the variants documented. Thanks go to Wasp-shot 23 for starting the whole hunt off, JGR for his awesome knowledge and keen eye, Mr.O and Phill_D for providing comaparisons and second opinions as needed

Please post here or PM me with your findings, hopfully before long we will have a complete and accurate list. I have included links to TFwiki and TFU, one uses stock photography, the other doesn't. Check your figures agaisnt both and the 12 pack if you have it for a comprehensive comparison.

One thing, were all 12 of these released as single cards? If so is there any chance that the variants have already been released but were dismissed as being simple re-packages and due to low distribution, subsequently flew under the radar of most collectors?

I have been unable to find any decent pictures of the carded versions, maybe a US fan could help us out with that one?

Clarified by JelZe GoldRabbit three posts down, thanks buddy!.

Whilst I appreciate a double post is a little unorthodox, I want to keep the reference post "clean", so I hope you all understand on this occasion.

Anyways, hit my local last night and bought three of these. I scored Boltflash, Supressor and Skyhammer.

Skyhammer would appear to be a (albeit slight) variant :D

Image

See the red paint between the two engines at the rear? That is absent on my 12pk and also on the picture at TFU. Interestingly it is present on the "stock-photography" shown on TFwiki, my reference post reflects this and I have classified it as such.

Mine are still bagged, so MR.O could I trouble you to check the colur of the visor on Boltflash, we could be looking for details that small! :D

EDIT: Many thanks to Wasp-shot23 for correcting me, mine is misassembled, NOT a variant. I've left the picture in situ for reference. See the TFwiki link above for a view of misassembled stock-photography!

If we get enough info on these variants I'll write and post an article about them.
Keep this going mates! ;)^
Any and all variants you find post them with pics. That should make it easier for us all to see which ones will be needed for our Mini-Con collecting friends overseas.

Man this is pretty exiting, I'll contact my uncle and ask him to get a couple for me and I'll have a look if I can find them over here, we sometimes get stuff like this at odd little shops.
