Hopefully we'll get some additional figures from those, like Crosscut or especially Road Rage. I could also see a Generations take on Bulkhead or Strongarm using the Trailbreaker mold.
I had been looking forward to more Cybertronian vehicles, but honestly we got a bunch back during Titans Return. Not counting the tetrajets or Bumblebee, the MTMTE Cybertronian designs kinda sucked.

And yeah, with Pulse as a "club" avenue for oddities, I'm down for Crosscut, Road Rage, or any Diaclone or Shattered Glass recolors. Same for peppering in a new character or two.
I have to disagree on the Cybertron molds. While they are odd designs from the 1980s, they are iconic to a generation of fans. Tetrajets resembling those in the show (and getting the Rainmakers) are amazing to finally have. If they can do the same to give us a design that's 90% what we saw in the show for Jazz, Wheeljack and Bee, I will be stoked. They can do whatever they want with the rest of the figures — earth mode or 'original' cybertronian mode.
Anyway, Bee looked pretty amazing all around. Sleek and timeless spaceship mode there. (Unlike Cosmos, who was like a tongue-in-cheek retro spaceship.)
EDIT: Oops, AcademyofDrX excluded Bee and Tetrajets. So we actually agree. Those were the better designs. Either way, hope they do the remaining ones.

AcademyofDrX wrote:Call me basic, but all I really want is new updates of the rest of the '84/'85 deluxe cars. Wheeljack, Sunstreaker, and Tracks could probably derive from a single mold, and Trailbreaker and Hoist should, too. Grapple guarantees Inferno, which just leaves Skids.
Hopefully we'll get some additional figures from those, like Crosscut or especially Road Rage. I could also see a Generations take on Bulkhead or Strongarm using the Trailbreaker mold.

For a minute there I thought you were saying the comic Cybertronian designs sucked and I got so confused because no one brought up the comics but then I remembered the three part opening was also called MTMTE
I do have to agree with you there though, the original designs could have used some work. But hey, at least they've been giving nods to those alt modes with a full blown Tetrajet mold, and Soundwave getting a hidden lampost mode. To me it shows they actually wanted to try and keep things accurate to the setting instead of making up entirely new alt modes for characters that have established Cybertronian alt modes

And yeah, it's really such a tiny number of robots that have their alt mode shown... if you go by mold, that's what... three Autobots and three Decepticons (counting seeker, laserbeak and soundwave). It seems like the least they could do is to give those a nod.

That looks a lot like Henkei Starscream. I was hoping they would come up with something significantly better.
And here's Zarak, I think.

But maybe ... DON'T make main characters exclusives this time? Pretty please? And maaaaaaaaaaybe not all at the same time too?
I saw Scorpinok's the next titan too. So I may actually get another titan! Maybe.
edit: Actually, these don't look too much like remoulded Seige Seekers at all. Which is much better. Makes me want the Seige Rainmakers less, but I may get them anyway since they're all the same height.

YES YES YES that is! More precisely, that is Japanese Scorponok, using the more toy-accurate and more detailed Toei Animation character model from The Headmasters...

...instead of the AKOM character model from The Rebirth.

Or... No! Wait, it's both! As in, the smaller robot uses the AKOM Rebirth model while the new Cerebros-sized robot uses the Toei Headmasters model!
Oh snap, I just had a brainstorm! What if, the little tiny head is "Zarak" like normal, the giant scorpion Transtector is still "Scorponok", while the new middleman robot is now "MegaZarak"? This would meld together the different American and Japanese takes on the character into one, bringing together the Nebulon ruler Lord Zarak with the purely Cybertronian Scorponok/MegaZarak.

Well, didn't the Rainmakers still have tetrajet alt modes?

I see a lot of differences. Looks like the actual alt mode nosecone is in his chest and does not form the shoulder stacks in bot. His hips and thigh swivels look completely different.

Yeah, it's not a disaster or anything. But this means that they don't really look like Starscream, even in robot mode. So, because they don't match, it makes me want them less.
Plus I already own KO Rainmakers, so I already have the characters. I do kinda want them, but I dunno. I'm backing Unicron - I gotta cut back on spending. I do really want 'em, though.
We'll see. Maybe if I see them at Toys R us. Maybe.

The arms are the only thing that sticks out to me as being the same as the Siege version.

More in response to Ironhidensh's post, but mostly just in general. I think it was general speculation that it would be a retool. Admittedly even on my part. I had been trying to figure out in my head how that nosecone from the Tetra mold would work to go from rounded cone shapes to rectangular shoulder stacks. Looks like that's not how they work at all maybe.
I'm thinking that transformation is going to be very Masterpiecey.

Yeah, it was weird how The Rebirth had the human-sized Zarak becoming the full head, helmet and all, of Scorponok. Meanwhile, The Headmasters remedied the issue in that version by not only having Scorponok (as in, the smaller guy, since the larger one was named "MegaZarak") fit inside MegaZarak's helmet like the toy but also by having him be larger than the other Headmasters, about the size of a Minibot instead of a human, allowing MegaZarak's head and body to be proportionally equal in size to those of Fort Max without the awkward size-changing and shape-morphing The Rebirth had to use.Cyberpath wrote:@Sabrblade -- I recognised the Japanese model. That's pretty creative, to blend both. When I watched Rebirth as a kid I found it weird that Zarak transformed into Scorponok's head when Spike transformed into Cerebros' head and that guy into FortMax's head. Of course it was because Scorponok had a smaller toy plus his headmaster was placed in a helmet.

o.supreme wrote:Cool to finally see MegaZarak/Scorponok. I am disappointed a the lack of content though. Just a couple items and a tease. At least at SDCC last year, we got news of pretty much the whole first wave of Siege, hopefully at a panel later there will be photos at least of more upcoming releases. Of course I could still be reeling from 2 years ago when the entire PotP slate was leaked online
Keep in mind the difference in a 3 wave plus 1 more deluxe line for PotP and a almost completely full 5 wave line for this year means that essentially they had to reveal the whole wave 1 of Siege earlier than they do for Earthfall because of how much sooner wave 1 of Siege hit stores than I expect wave 1 of Earthfall to hit. With wave 5 Siege potentially filling in the Christmas sale season, wave 1 of Earthfall can actually come out in January instead of creeping into November like years past. If the first wave isn't going to hit as early, then it doesn't need to be revealed as early either.
Plus, as Cobs said, they're just getting started.
