Are they advanced, though?

Yeah, they got super computers and energy constructs... Which they use to make medieval weapons for dramatic 1v1 duels between their leaders. It's a civil war being fought within a society where everyone is almost impossible to (permanently) kill, half the soldiers still use swords, WMDs are comically impractical,
the best strategic weapons consists of five or six soldiers engaging in a vertical gymnastic orgy, and the most efficient way to defeat an enemy is by literally chewing him up.

A war or conflict can officially last as long as it wants to with periods of peace, until a peace treaty has been signed by all parties involved (the Pax Cybertronia). On Earth we've had a war lasting 80 years, and another that lasted 100 years to give some perspective on how wars can be longer than a person's lifespan. Also, even tho the Korean War "ended" in 1953 in an armistice, a peace treaty was never signed by either country so officially they're still at war.

I actually had a fun idea for a fanfic that would have revolved around the war being interrupted by lengthy shutdowns where the whole race was forced into an involuntary sleep mode state for various updates, etc, with the Ark's crash coinciding with the beginning of the most recent shutdown.

The Halo universe's saga about the Forerunner and the ancient human empire would have all taken place during said shutdown, the Forerunner developing all of their super-advanced amazing technology by looting Cybertronian territories while the ancient war machines were deactivated.

Probably dumb but it created a premise in my mind for Devastator to punch a Covenant Scarab.

But I digress.

Wait... Was the war going for millions of years prior to them crashing on Earth? Cause I always thought it would have been going for like 100 years (which given their longer lifespans would be like 10 or so years I think?) and then they crashed on Earth, and they just added the time in stasis lock for dramatic effect/lack of actual treaty during their time in stasis

Who knows but the war probably would have to been going on for awhile in most continuities.

Regardless even with the Ark/Nemesis crew crashing in some continuities there's still everyone else on Cybertron, it just paints whoever is left there as incompetent.

In the Season 2 episode War Dawn, it was established that Orion Pax was remade into Optimus around the same time the war started, both happening about 9 million years before the current day of the cartoon. So with the Autobots leaving Cybertron 4 million years before the current day, that means the war had already been raging for 5 million years.

I would love to see this for once.

If I could go back in time and change 1 "minor" thing in Transformers it would be to scrub the "million year war" aspect from history, it doesn't work and never has.

A war wouldn't last that long realistically even stretching it for a fictional franchise a million year war does not sound possible when it comes to how "advance" the Transformers are and if so how do Transformers stay active for so long yet are still fighting for resources and draining them, I doubt the Transformers would have as much personality due to being so old and it honestly does not jive when it comes to specific characters like:

"Here's Bumblebee he's the young one, except he's millions of years old and yet doesn't grow as a character until he suddenly does within a short time on Earth)

I think it helps to remember that the War is a Cold War.

In most G1, the War was either dormant or flat out over (Dreamworks) for most of the 4 million Years or whatever that Prime and Megatron are asleep. We don't always know what Shockwave was up to on Cybertron, but it didnt seem to be the heat of battle. And in the aforementioned Dreamworks, Peace was established until Prime and Megatron woke up and started fighting again.

Even in the more modern takes, the fighting seems to be hit and run skirmishes and guerrilla tactics not direct hot conflict. If these guys are wandering around SPACE, well Space is huge so the odds of even SEEING another Cybertronian ship is probably cause for celebration, even if it is the enemy. And, we know these guys are effectively immortal, so not only is actually killing a Cybertronian difficult, but the passage of time is effectively meaningless to them; do we know they hsve FTL travel or are they all out there zooming around in Space at more conventional speeds? Spaced out battlefields and slow, infrequent encounters could lead to a long war

Not only that but I think time did flow differently on Cybertron and Earth. A day on Cybertron could very well be just an hour on Earth and a year just a month.

There's also all that time relativity that come with space travel. So with some technobabble, it's possible that the Ark actually flew through time and went to the past while going faster than light. So the Ark went millions of years into the past then crashed.

Eh, same thing did happen with Beast Wars.

If the Amazon silhouettes are anything to guess by, Waspinator using Bugbite mold, Energon Ironhide out of Trailbreaker and probably Clampdown out of Redalert. I think the Odyssey box sets are where a Barricade using the Earthmode will pop up.

Looks like Target is pushing back some ship dates slightly. My Allicons, Airwaves and 1 Quintesson have been pushed back by about a week. My other 2 quints and Snapdragon have already shipped. I'm thinking that means they should also be popping up in stores soon as well.

I think I can't co-sign the playskool Gobots. There's been nothing to tie that into WFC (unless you mean "Generationsized" Gobots and not actual playskool Gobots).

The thing about the "millions of years of war" that's made really dumb is how the Autobots and Decepticons exist for all that time with very little change happening, and then along comes the Beast Era and BOOM, we got Maximals and Predacons running the place with little-to-no sign or trace of any Autobots or Decepticons even existing anymore, gone from the public society and faded into the stuff of myth and legend as the Maximals and Predacons' "ancient ancestors"... only after a measly three centuries pass. /:)

Considering that this is a Generations toyline subseries of mold redecos/retools, it would be bafflingly bonkers if D-Maximal Primal literally meant Hasbro picking out 16-18-year-old Playskool molds for a collector-oriented line, and not more obviously just taking existing Earthrise molds and redecoing them in homage of the Playskool Go-Bots. >:oP

I forgot about that. The distance travelled through dpace is shorter and therefore takes less time than going the long way round or something. So time on the ark might have been less than time aroumd it or some such. Einstein makes my head hurt

This is also something that bothers me. The millions of years thing is insane for a conflict, unless 99.9999% of it is cold war styled instead of active war. It's why I'm glad things like Prime and the movies didn't go this route, while it is the one thing annoying me about Cyberverse since they imply a 66 million year gap from crashing to awakening.

It gets bonkers.

Speaking of which:

Leader-1, Swindle, Crumplezone, and Demolisher's partner all seem doable.

Demolishor's partner's called Blackout. :)

Don't forget we have at least one Armada-inspired team. The Air Strike Patrol is directly based on the Air Defense Mini-Con Team sans Sonar, heck, Storm Cloud largely reuses Jetstorm's transformation.

You know who would make a GREAT Demolishor? Fasttrack. He's got the right vehicle mode silohuette with the turret and forward guns and the bot mode has the guns sticking up on hos shoulders. I would buy that

My Earthrise Bluestreak arrived in the mail today...but I'm working a 12 hour shift. :-(

I'll do in hand pics tonight when I've gotten him in my greasy little hands.

This all seems highly logical, but I have one different theory. It's a wild and crazy one but hear me out. Botropolis's icon is that of a city. Instead of Go-Bots, what if this is a planet of Cityformers?

what if this is how we are getting...... wait for it........

Black Zarak!!! :BOOM:

I could see them going with 2-packs of smaller figures for all 5 of these releases, but I could also see Amazon taking a chance on a $170 exclusive. Their track record for exclusives is pretty good.
