Wheeljack, Cliffjumper, and Hoist are definitely awesome looking. Might get Grapple to go with Hoist. I'm glad the Battlemasters are continuing, and even coming with ramps for bases. Despite my initial dislike of going back to Earth modes so quickly, I do like that Cliffjumper's getting his own mold

So Astrotrain isn't coming out until Earthrise next year. I hate it.

Next year is going to be expensive, that's for sure. That Starscream looks literally perfect, so I'm definitely going to get every use of it I can. Also, I'm pretty sure Cliffjumper is going to be retooled into one of the battle chargers. Up to this point the only thing I don't like is the inconsistent windows on Hoist.

I'm wondering. Even though there's been no indication thus far, suppose that the reason they made all of the plastic for Prime's trailer and hands gray instead of blue is because of there being a yet-to-be revealed Roller that comes with the set, whose plastic is gang-molded with the trailer and hands, and that they wanted said Roller to be show-accurate gray instead of blue.

Sinxe this is all mimicking the pattern of Siege reveals (pure GEEWUN pandering+obscure things remade as weaponizers+targetmasters and micromasters, anyone want to take bets on which character from outside of GEEWUN will show up as a retool? Last time we got Galaxy Convoy. My guess is logically it would be a retool of the unseen second Leader mold as something else or a Voyager retool of some kind.
Any ideas?

Cliffjumper also comes with hydrofoils, inspired by Dinobot Island part 2.

I find it interesting that Smashdown is included in the wave 1 Battlemaster pack. Maybe because Hasbro knows how much the fans like her?
Edit: Hoist also seems to have the battle damage effect in his render. Does that mean it's staying on through Earthrise?

EarthRise Optimus looks like a good figure but the deco really drags it down. I hope they fix it for the release. I skipped the Terrorcons because of this, hate to skip on Prime, too.
They did a mostly good job with Siege, sucks they are regressing now, with this. IMO the designer clearly meant for this to have the cartoon/OX deco.
Interestingly, the show piece displays the trailer with the wayward Roller from Unite Warriors..

The teaser images for Prime showed blue hands, the gray really sours me. I think Cliffjumper's bazooka breaks down into the hydrofoils and smaller guns, thank God.

Having rewatched the stream all these shots came from, UW Roller was there because the person recording brought it to size compare against the trailer, and someone did ask Warden about the color changes on Prime. His response was that they were having issues with the molding where parts that were not supposed to be blue were ending up getting molded in blue, and to fix it they had to trade off the blue hands and repair drone.

It thought they said Astrotrain is getting rereleased in Earthrise in addition to his Siege release?

I get and even dig that they gave optimus the yellow eyes and silver hands from the original battle scene box art. Still feels a little wrong though. Maybe he just needs the squinty eyes

Exactly, Astrotrain will appear in Siege packaging soon on shelves and then be restocked next year at some point, this time though in Earth rise packing.

I thought they couldn't do any better than Siege and then they go and reveal this. All these figures look amazing, especially Starscream, Wheeljack and Ironworks.

Yeah, someone there had brought their Wandering Roller with them to see if it could fit inside this new Prime's trailer.Cyberpath wrote:Interestingly, the show piece displays the trailer with the wayward Roller from Unite Warriors..

I can pass on most of these, Starscream (and the inevitable repaints which will no doubt be exclusives anyway) more so. Happy with the Henkei versions.

Well, time to track down some of the Siege pieces I’m missing, as I’m over 80’s vehicles. I personally feel we’ve went back to that well one too many times. How many F-15s does a collector need? I may pick up Wheeljack, but nothing I’ve seen from Earthrise excites me. And I’m super sad that it’s looking like Sideswipe won’t get a Cybertronian brother in yellow. There’s still time, Hasbro!

I have to say, i am very underwhelmed with the reveals.
The good:
Micromasters: all of them look good, and the Hot Rod patrol looks great!
Ironworks: just like the Weaponizers, I love this. This is the kind of new ingenuity that we need! Bring on the other 3 bases!
And then we move on to the disappointments:
Cliffjumper: I saw him, and he immediately made me think of that junk 3P cliffjumper from about 2 years ago. alt mode doesn't look really good. The head and gun are the 2 good things about it.
Hoist: I had hopes, but then, this happened. That robot mode does not look good at all. He just, no.
Wheeljack: that right there is the MP shrunk down. kinda really lame.
Grapple: also the MP scaled down without crane magic and with some hollow parts
Prime: a not very well colored version of MP-10. Also lame.
And then the WORST:
What the hell were they thinking? We went from wonderful detail to flat boxes once again! NO! How could you regress so badly? Is this in response to the bruising the GEEWUN brand team's pride took when Primal won the PotP poll? Punish us with MP junior animated tv show junk?
It is amazing to me how much worse this line is than the wonder that was siege. It's sad. This was not what I wanted to see.

I got so caught up trying to help deliver the news and fix misconceptions people had that I forgot to say what I actually think of all these reveals, which has been a resounding...meh. Wheeljack, Ironworks, and Soundbarrier are the only figures I'm definitely buying, Grapple is a maaaybe, and everything else is a hard pass. I really hope that Selects can put out some more tetrajets if we are to finish the Seekers, because this new Earth Seeker mold brought back everything I hate about the Classics mold. The only characters I would possibly want from that are maaaybe coneheads if they're retooled enough, and even then the only conehead I really want is Ramjet.
Also no one seems to have mentioned this yet, but Warden showed that Grapple also comes with a removable piece stored on him somewhere that allows him to have the Inferno gun hand, so Inferno is absolutely coming and the gun hand won't even count as one of his new accessories (although that ONLY excites me if it means Selects Artfire).

Re: Transformers War for Cybertron: Earthrise Discussion Thread
I'm gonna pick and choose with these.
Hoist is kinda tempting since he seems better than 30th Hoist. But I've gotta draw a line. Maybe I'll impulse buy him. Maybe.
I feel the same with Cliffjumper. I have GDO. In a different time I'd love this.
Wheeljack ... I feel like the one I have is just fine.
Prime - Grey fists? Uh. Huh. You know, it's amazing how one small detail can make me go lukeward on a figure.
Starscream - my Achilles heel. I love the Classics Seeker mould. Love it. This is that but bigger and better. The right size. So I guess I'm going to replace a lot of my Seekers. That's my big takeaway from this.

After the cool reveal of the Wave 1 Transformers War for Cybertron Earthrise figures earlier today, we have some brand new stock images to show you of all the revealed figures!
The Battlemaster class includes Soundbarrier, a new character who transforms into a shield. They will be packaged with a rerelease of the Siege Battlemaster Smashdown.
The Micromaster classes include the Hot Rod Patrol and the Military Patrol, consisting of Daddy-O, Trip-Up, Bombshock, and Growl, respectively.
The deluxe assortment consists of Hoist, Cliffjumper, Wheeljack, and Ironworks. The former 3 are based on their original cartoon appearances while the 4th is a new robot based on the Micromaster Ironworks base.
The voyagers consist of new mold Earth mode Starscream and Grapple, who show some similarities to the Classics seeker mold and the Masterpiece Grapple figures.
And the Leader consists of Optimus Prime complete with his trailer that functions as a repair bay.
Check out the images below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Now that I've had a few hours to absorb whats going on, I have several thoughts. I had speculated a while ago about Hasbro re-releasing Smashdown. Glad they are doing it for all those who didn't get one he first time. Also the re-release of older figures serves twofold. So that fans get a second chance to pick up figures maybe they passed on the first time, and gives Hasbro *Breathing Room* I guess to stretch out their releases. They don't always have to have two leaders at the start now etc... We've seen it within the same line, its just been a really long time since we've seen them cross lines, but its not unprecedented. Tidal Wave and Overload got re releases in Energon from Armada, but they also got new paint jobs. I wonder if any changes will be made to Astrotrain or Smashdown besides packaging?
Not thrilled at Cliffjumper being a deluxe, but oh well. I know fans have waited long enough, I wouldn't have gotten it anyone. he's not for me, he's for others
Also it seems Omega Supreme will serve as the Bridge (both literally and figuratively) between older and newer Base/Station figures. I haven't purchased any leaders in the last two lines, but I may start again, since the BM's (which I already get) will have connectors, and the Leaders will as well. Kind of glad the deluxes don't, (other than weaponizes) that would be tough.
Oddly enough, I didn't get any of the Optimus' toys from PotP or Siege, so getting one in ER, that happens to fit my collecting aesthetic, and hearkens back to the original is kind of cool.
