How else were they going to recreate the original toy's hoverboard w/ gun turret?ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I'm praying that the Prowl-Ironhide stuff is digibashes. Especially Ironhide. "SIEGE retool with the Earth mode roof as a shield" is highly disappointing if true.![]()

Honestly, it would be awesome but I don't think it will happen. Battle Masters are cheaper individually than Micromasters. Plus that Select box exist.
In all logic, it may be a special "battle damage" version of Optimus Prime with one or two Battle Masters included.

He's getting a solo release at retail, already seen a price tag for him
It's because he's a re-shell of SIEGE Ironhide. Given that mold's core transformation scheme, a roof shield was the easiest way to give it a Onebox roof.DMSL wrote:Lazy Ironhide transformation the roof becomes a shield, hope it is not like Cliffjumper.
Why? I always hated that about the G1 toy. It was useless.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:It's because he's a re-shell of SIEGE Ironhide. But I wish they'd given us an Ironhide with the proper battle platform..![]()

I agree this would have been great! Maybe there are some 5mm ports on the underside so we can fan-jam some kind of approximation of one. Maybe use Siege Ratchet's accessories?ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:But I wish they'd given us an Ironhide with the proper battle platform..![]()

Well for me, I like anything that harkens back to Diaclone.Rodimus Prime wrote:Why? I always hated that about the G1 toy. It was useless.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.
Yeah, that irks me as well. I wish they would have given their slots to figures who haven't seen a proper release in a while, if ever. Like some Firecons and Sparkabots. But they probably wouldn't have sold as well.william-james88 wrote:Also, I hate that I have to rebuy so many figures I already have. Soundwave, Ironhide, prowl AAARGHHH

Well, I personally find it a very fun feature. Both as a battle sled and as a medical slab/workstation for Ratchet. In modern toy context, it would go great with Titan Masters and Prime Masters.Rodimus Prime wrote:Why? I always hated that about the G1 toy. In fairness, Prowl and Whyronhide are an exclusive two-pack, so they're not stealing main slots.Rodimus Prime wrote:Yeah, that irks me as well. And Ratchet and Ironhide are inaccurate without it. Their robot mode character models are based directly on the robot separated from the platform that forms most of the van volume.
In Ironhide's case, an Earth mode by itself is not enough to get me to bite. I needed that extra play value and bit of design accuracy... Combine that with Prowl not having a different chest from Smokescreen (as far as I could tell) and that pack is a hard pass.
