Between TRU closing, Hasbro being forced to release a bunch of employees, Leader class shrinking, and a lot of Walmarts not even carrying Leaders I'm not sure if we'll see another Titan after Scorponok assuming we get him at all. Hasbro seems to be having increasing trouble getting large Transformers into US retail and they aren't worth the risks.
Emerje
if thats the case, once again we get shorted on the figures we should get like how we got shorted with POTP we got shorted with TITANS Return in a way we should have had other figures other than roadburn, rereleases of cosmos and shrapnel and now we will get shorted Scorponok in all his headmaster glory
because they decide they dont want to risk it? lets just hope that titan Omega Supreme does well enough that they will consider giving Scorponok a chance, i just had to rant there but i really like everything i see so far with WAR FOR CYBERTRON i certainly hope they surprise us with some awesome ****!

If they can't keep it fresh, then yeah it probably will.

But what is the current (or previous scale?)
My current collection began mostly with Titans Return, with some Combiner Wars and the odd T30 toy. Which mean for the most part everything fits together nicely with some decent scale and some shared aesthetics.
The way I see it, Siege Voyager Optimus is one of the exceptions. If he is indeed the same size as Classics Optimus then much like Classics Optimus he passes by the skin of his teeth at best and even then only among those in the same line. And in Classics Optimus' case that's being charitable.
It would be nice if Seibertron had included CW Optimus in the comparison photos, or otherwise had included a ruler, so I could be more sure...

Going by the cartoon and the old toys, I consider Voyager the proper size for the Seekers in CHUG anyway and am glad they finally started on doing them at that size. The Deluxe Seekers scale better with G1s than they do with most CHUG and other modern figures!

I think we are pretty set on wreckers aside from Ironfist, with impactor coming later next year. I think Springer was chosen because they wanted another autobot for a voyager slot (since most are decepticons) and of all the voyager class toys one would need for this redo of G1, Gen Springer was both the oldest triplechanger left to redo and least true to his G1 look (boxy helicopter). Of course that also goes for Sandstorm but that character is much less famous. Basically, I think they wanted all their heavy hitters present in Siege.
Who else would you have picked to fill the vyager slot for an Autobot?
Who to pick for voyager?? That's an easy choice : Ironhide! There's so many bots to fill in the deluxe and Ironhide got to be voyager class. Only Hasbro finds it hard to decided.. They should go back to the G1 toys era, where the releasing of bots and cons were fairly even and matching. Do away this silly wave thing, where the selection and distribution of the toys were so messed up since the prime wars. Still fuming where I couldn't complete the pretenders with the missing Waverider?!?!, incomplete triple changers, only cons targetmasters without any bots to go along ?!?! (not counting kup and hot rod), only leader class prime and rod without meg and gal, and so on.
Earlier on I heard that Hasbro got into some difficulties. I was actually quite hopeful that another company can take over the making of transformers. I know this is close to impossible. The 3rd parties are producing so many matching bots and cons with quality materials. So cmon Hasbro, if u can do it in the 80s, Im sure u can do a better job now.

I would have wanted Ironhide (and Ratchet) to be Voyager Class as well, but given that Optimus Prime is a fairly typically sized Voyager for recent years, it makes sense that Ironhide and Ratchet would perhaps be a little too big for that size class, unless they came with a LOT of accessories to compensate for the mass difference. I'm hoping that Hasbro has pulled a nice "Studio Series" with Siege and we'll find that the Ironhide mold is actually quite large for a Deluxe, expanding out into a bigger robot mode than might be expected from the alt mode, similar to Studio Series Ratchet. This would put Ironhide and Ratchet in about the right height compared to their Autobot contemporaries, larger than the cars, but still a bit shorter than Optimus Prime.
I think what we really need are bigger versions of Trailbreaker and Hoist. Their Thrilling 30 versions are small, even for Deluxe Class figures, when they should be scaled with the likes of Ironhide and Ratchet. Plus, while their T30 figures are pretty nice, they're decidedly IDW inspired and not very G1 toy or cartoon accurate otherwise. I'd also like to see a new Inferno and Grapple too, although I do love their Universe/Henkei/RtS/United versions, they're a bit too big in robot mode compared to the rest of the "Generations" Voyager Class figures, particularly Optimus Prime.

If it were business as usual then Hasbro wouldn't be laying off 10% of their work force (estimated between 500 and 600 employees) as a direct result of TRU closing in the US right before their busiest time of the year.
I looked for a source for that, and found it, but saw that it is just speculation. Both that number 10% and the cause are not confirmed. The only thing confirmed to be in direct relation to TRU closing affecting Hasbro is the current lawsuit.

I completely agree with your sentiment. Waverider's my favorite Pretender, yet he's the only one out of the OG four to not get a new figure? Come on hasbro.
I'm still holding out hope that the Autobot target masters will be released in the second or third year of WFC, same with a new version of Sandstorm. I missed out on the T30 release and it really bugs me that Springer's getting a new figure, but not him.

Welcome to the last few months of 2018, it is not the 80's anymore so things aren't the same as back then and never will be.

Okay first off if you think the factions were balanced back then you are dead wrong. The Autobots massively outnumbered the Decepticons on the shelves up until 1986, when they became more balanced (which went completely out the window come 1990). Secondly Hasbro won't ever go back to the method they used to use where all the figures of a line would be released all at once and would be there until the next set of figures was released. Back then toys had a much longer shelf life and that was a reasonable strategy but if Hasbro did that now it would not work at all due to the shortened shelf life of the figures and there is a reason that is the case.

IMO Deluxe is a good size for Ironhide when it comes to scaling with other Autobots. Voyager would only work if the extra mass was used for weapons and letting him split into the robot and battle platform.
I do think Voyager is possibly a bit big for Springer, but some of it may be going to accessories. And we do need a more cartoon-based version than the T30 Springer. Hopefully the next WFC line gives us a matching Wreck-Gar

Well, looking at them, I do see similar hinging with the chests. Ironhide also looks to have some panelforming with his legs as Kup did but not quite to the same extent. And like Kup his arms end up behind his chest in vehicle mode.

It would defeat the purpose of having a Waverider figure, since it's supposed to be a Pretender. What I don't understand is them not just releasing Waverider under SIEGE or finding a different home for him and other figures that got shortchanged.

Who knows, they might find a way to release Waverider/Amalgamous (Or Diver/Amalgamous if you prefer) yet. We should write in to them to make our desire clearly known.
I bet he wouldn't have been dropped from Wave 3 - which I would guess he was planned for since much like Megatronus/Bomb-Burst and Alpha Trion/Landmine the Prime Master has no new parts other than the spark sigil - if Grand Maximus had reached the required preorder target for a redeco of the shell to be included.
