Thanks. At least, on the plus side, a War For Cybertron trilogy should be devoid of anything Earth-based or related. Maybe even some big bots for part three, when The War kicked into high gear, such as Thunderwing, The Last Autobot etc

While he deserves a leader class spot, Siege Starscream isn't a terrible base mold to use for the Last Autobot.

He would be an interesting choice. More so if the New IDW Continuity chooses to use him also. He had some hype in the Marvel series but nothing has really been done with him. The name alone gives so many possibilities.

But i do wonder the rumored Jetfire is going to be mixed with something..... probably a Shuttle alt mode

and with his unique head visor he got since Superlink/Galaxy Force (a bit disappointed he lacked a combined mode during Galaxy Force but im happy with the unique Visor head )

Vote polls Aside, we do still have Unknown Evil (Which is Dezaras/Deathsaurus) and Star Saber on the Prime votes, so i think there will be Star Saber and Deathsaurus planned in siege? (or probably next year or 2021 for the rest of another trilogy?)

Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly, but didn't Warden tease that Star Saber and Deathsaurus were coming at a recent Comic Con or Toy Fair?

He did tease them both in an interview he gave right around near the beginning (or maybe a little before the beginning) of Power of the Primes, back before we learned that that line wasn't going to be as long-lasting as CW and TR.

No, it was a misinterpretation on my behalf. What he was really teasing at was that there would be another poll coming, which did happen with the result of impactor.

I do recall an interview where Warden said something along the lines of "We could probably see a new Star Saber or Deathsaurus in the near future. " And since we know he's a big JG1 fan, this was interpreted as him possibly hinting at something a little more than mere wishful thinking on his part. But now that we've gone through both Potpie and now Siege with no signs of either, we can deduce that it probably was just wishful thinking on his part.

It is the War for Cybertron, which should mean no Earth at all, as this phase of the War was millions of years before Earth's involvement. The various stages of escalation could be divided into the three parts. It starts with Bots (SIEGE), then Gestalts and Teams (Part Two), then Multi-Changers, WMD's IE Omega Supreme, Last Autobot, Star Saber etc (For the finale)

I doubt we'll get Combiners again do soon after combiner wars, and omega supreme is coming as part of Siege. Technically the war for Cybertron was still ongoing while they were on earth

Although if they were to do Combiners in WFC, as we've discussed in previous pages, they could always use the combiners they overlooked previously IE Monstructor, Raiden, Piranacon etc No Fan would abject to New Combiners.

In Most continuities, The War for Cybertron was typically lost by the time they reach Earth. Normally the Cons hold the planet, baring a few Guerrilla factions. The War for Cybertron would historically imply the four million year Civil War that most writers and continuities gloss over.

Indeed. I did note that myself (with some disgust) when I first saw SIEGE announced. How can it be a "siege" or a "War For Cybertron" with only Autobots?

I'm still impressed that none of the cons were leaked ahead of time Especially given the leaks we've seen in the Studio Series

That being said I would have had the Siege subtitle be the second year line, maybe with the first being "Escalation" then leading to the last line "Exodus"

In the era where someone would literally sell their mother to leak spoilers on anything, I was eventually impressed by the reveal.

That could still be true, albeit reversed. Siege>Escalation>Exodus

I know there's this debate on what the next WfC lines will look like, but there is something that points to these cybertronian based designs not being around much longer. Siege was described as 'the final days on cybertron before the great exodus on the Ark.' So based on that, wouldn't the next line have designs not based from Cybertron?

It would be pretty stupid to just toss away the Cybertronian design, so if the next line isn't based on Cybertron, will they have normal Earth-based alt-modes? Or will they use an alternative idea? Maybe something along the lines of Animated, in where the alternate modes are based on futuristic versions of Earth vehicles?

There are other (Better) places they could go, before they flush the creativity of this line down the toilet (Which is what Earth represents in Transformers). Nebulos for example. The Head and Targetmasters certainly fit the brief of SIEGE. That is to say, not the naff version of the concept they have thrown out in Titan Masters. Again, dig into the designs they have forgotten about IE Hosehead, Fangry, Crosshairs, the Horrorcons etc etc etc

This is sort of what I've been hoping for/expecting to happen. It wouldn't make sense to me if they decided to name the line "War for Cybertron" and then just abandon the Cybertronian designs

Aside from saying that Siege takes place during the dying days of Cybertron, they've remained tight lipped over the future.

Here's another idea, a little more out there, what if the next toyline focused on the colony worlds (idea being that the Autobots and cons were trying to regroup and gain new recruits) this would also allow for new beast wars styled characters as Eurakis could be one of the worlds featured.

Colony Worlds were a bad Fanfic idea when IDW half-hearted them and if Warden is behind the other two parts, I'm sure bastardising Beast Wars, Unicron Trilogy etc isn't an even remote priority.

I don't know if you'd told me this time last year that leader Class Ultra Magnus would homage car robots in vehicle mode, that we'd get a leader Class Cybertron Optimus Prime then I would have laughed. Also I don't think the colony worlds were a bad idea at all but different strokes and all that

But there is a line in the sand, in some fans eyes, between Vehicle-Formers and Beast Era. Vehicle Bots of any series can all be streamlined into one. The Monsterbots don't gel with the Maximals however.

The Colony Worlds were a poorly executed idea, with no greater creative merit than Fan Service cameos. I point to the appalling generic stock use of the Beast Wars characters in the Unicron Mini Series as a clear example of that.
