Nice, he truly is unique. A bit taller than Trypticon, but the top of the tracks probably meet the eyeline, or top of the horns of Metro & FM.

It also scales well so he can fight his original nemesis (Devastator), or his aligned continuity one (Trypticon)

Seriously? For me that cel-shading (and let's not call it toon. The G1 cartoon NEVER looked that good, it's pure Devastation video game style) looks great on those figures I find otherwise unappealing (the standard versions just look far too mediocre to me). This lousy attempt at battle damage doesn't. It's garbage. Ugly, badly applied and makes little sense. It's too realistic an effect to be applied to designs that still look far too cartoon like even with all that detailing and it's not even done well. Fine whatever. You like what you like. This was probably the only Siege figure I'd even consider owning (I did have Firedrive and Lioniser for a couple weeks but thought they were kinda crappy so sold them). I don't like this toyline much. I find the robots quite bland looking and most of the 'cybertronian' vehicles far too boxy, already dated-looking and uninteresting (what happened to that neat futurisitic style the 2010 WfC Bumblebee had with it's cool curves and interesting deco?). I've always preferred realistic alt-modes for the most part anyways (of which this toyline has very little of). But yeah this Springer. He's just ok. He'll suffice if I do want to have a lil Marvel UK tribute section of the shelf but it's unlikely to be a fave of mine.

I'm kinda fed up with Transformers at moment anyways despite the cool SS reveals. I had hoped today's purchases might make me a bit more enthusiastic but had a jerk on instagram actually say I should be ordering Unicron instead of 'wasting cash on shi**y michael bay junk' on my Studio Series figures. Ain't my damn problem if that giant turtle-shelled toy doesn't meet it's target... I'm done.

Probably for the best if ur just mainly a Bayverse fan. I think its had its day after studio series. Transformers: Bumblebee kinda showed that. But for me its great, bring on the Sunbow G1 goodness and Unicron .

All of the fancy artwork on the internet and boxes and Hasbro won't consider making a Transformers SIEGE game. There could be so much potential for this to work in a alternate game reboot timeline or standalone console game franchise.

Thanks to a post yesterday on TFND on Facebook we have new images of the Transformers War for Cybertron Siege Refraktor Reconnaissance three pack with Spectro, Spyglass, and Viewfinder! These images give us excellent close ups of the individual robot modes, the packaging, and each page of the detailed instruction manual.

The manual gives some fun back story on the various functions of the different Refraktor units, a breakdown of their weapons even giving each of their similar blasters different names, and full instructions on assembling the camera mode. Although the camera mode instructions are shown in the images from TFND they are not very clear. The actual camera mode assembly instructions are however shown quite clearly in a downloadable PDF posted to TakaraTomy which we've provided above. They'll probably save that for the inevitable MP+ version. Of course, first both versions of Siege Refraktor should actually perform well.

And I know right? Jetfire AND his armada...

I don’t have them all but come on it’s Jetfire. Everyone loves at least one version of Jetfire, and there’s so many to choose from. I feel like Soundwave he’s one of those G1 characters that is just iconic. He’s always come back time and again in so many stories.

His designs, his backstory with the Robotech snafus, his sometimes compatibility with Prime, he’s just a stand out. And ever since Christmas 1985 he’s always been a favorite of mine

I have to say this Jetfire is definitely a big ‘hey how are you this is what we can do’ eye opener to me. I’m so super impressed despite mines face mask not staying on and a teeny scuff on the side of his head it’s like I don’t even care. It feels like playing with an old big Star Wars toy somehow it just really takes me back in so many different ways. Hard to peg it down.

I know they had to market the name on the box differently because of different trademark (or defensibility) reasons compared to back in the 80's, but did the sticker have to suffer too? While the figure's release was scheduled for September 1st in Canada, EB Games got their stock a few days early and have filled out preorders for those who ordered in stores (including a preorder for your fellow news editor). Since EB Games is the only store in Canada getting these, they have a lot to spare and have stocked their shelves. You can see that below in an image coming from a sighting in Montreal, Canada.
Of course, this may give Americans the need to drop by their nearest Walgreens to see if they received them. However, as we know by now that would be a waste of time. The US will only begetting these once fall starts and Walgreens does a Holiday restock.

One interesting thing to note, now that I have the toy, is that the medical bay mode truly is an official mode with most of the instructions sheet dedicated to it.

The price in Canada is $29.99 but $26.99 for platinum card holders.

Thanks to Seibertronian Microbot and the Playhouse Toy Photography Facebook page, we have news of some brand new in-hand images of the upcoming Transformers War for Cybertron Siege Omega Supreme! These new images give us a fantastic look at Omega, including his alternate mode, his robot mode, his individual rocket, Countdown, and even some Titan/Prime Master interaction! Omega is looking really dang cool in these new shots, and he shows that he has a lot of playability with the Micromasters of this line and the Masters of previous lines. He also shows that he is no slouch with regards to weapons, with an impressive arsenal of torso mounted weapons in addition to his rocket hands.

Omega Supreme is due out in the next 2 months following his delay from this Summer, and will retail for $159.99.

I wish someone could do a review of this Omega with the tank from the original G1 Omega to see if it could fit on these new tracks. Because if it did fit, it would be my saving grace to justify getting this one. If I could replace this non functioning tank with my G1 version which can actually move around the tracks and continuously rotate it's turrent and patrol, then that combined with Siege Omega's beautifuly detailed and articulated robot mode AND much bigger size makes this a must have.

Were you a fan of the stop-motion videos that Hasbro Taiwan put out earlier this year, featuring the War for Cybertron: Siege line? Here's another gem from the official YouTube account of the Transformers brand, showcasing Optimus Prime, Hound, and especially, Six Gun, as a Weaponizer, combining with Optimus.



While these do showcase figures that have been out for some time, the video is beautifully done, with great animation and awesome 80s laser sound effects.

This is ahead of the anticipated 4th quarter release at online vendors. It is unknown if that means it will also be found at a store in the US. It is also unknown if it will be found across Canada since this toy does not have any other language rather than English on the box. That is typical of show exclusive toys and Refraktor was initially made to be a Hascon exclusive. The set was found by Ultra Macnus over at Cybertron.ca.
