Here are some comparison shots of various Deluxe Class Hounds we've gotten over the past 10 years. I know Seibertron has some great comparison shots of Siege Hound along with the Universe 2008/Classics 2.0 version and the Combiner Wars version already. However, I've got those two molds in their different decos, one for a joint Takara/Hasbro Asia release and the other from Takara's Unite Warriors. Siege Hound is definitely the shortest, with Universe 2008 Hound being about a millimeter or two taller. Combiner Wars Hound is easily the tallest and bulkiest, but the difference isn't quite as drastic as I first thought from earlier pictures. They all look good in their own way, honestly, but THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE (on my display shelf)!

I agree with your assessment in your previous post 100% - had same difficulties with the arms and found the clearance issue annoying. However he is a great figure and most of my classics collection is in storage so the siege figures will be my display line for the time being. Though the original generations hound is great (and ravage was an awesome extra), his transformation had more issues due to it being a bit fiddly and his legs kept popping off no matter how careful I was. I skipped the CW autobot ARK figures as had too many repaints already...
My personal prime collection so far in descending order of how great i reckon the toy is -
FE Prime, Silas Breakdown (Powerizer), Dreadwing (Powerizer), FE Bulkhead, Voyager StarScream (Powerizer), Ratchet, Soundwave, Arcee, Voyager Megatron (Powerizer), Wheeljack, Thundertron (Powerizer), Ultra Magnus (Powerizer), Knockout, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee,Airachnid

Siege Hounds Legs are ugly and too boxy, I'm coming round to liking the vehicle mode but as a nod to the action master attack cruiser. just needs a new head on him so he's not pretending to be Hound and can be used alongside the classics as it's own thing. I can see it being a Roadbuster repaint as an exclusive later on rather then Detritus who may be a little bit too obscure, but looking forward to what ever repaints it may get.

I can see now that if Siege Hound had a proper neck like the other two there would be even less of a height discrepancy between the three. As it is the difference in height is pretty minor.

Woah! Your G1 Hound has more battle damage details than the Siege toy!

In all fairness, that's how all of my G1 figures look that aren't some sort of reissue.

This makes me think. Hasbro should allow some sort of service to provide replacement sticker sheets for people that want to make their old toys shiny and new. I recently bought the reissue Devastator and screwed up one of his stickers beyond repair. I don't want to scam Walmart by returning it for a replacement, but I don't want to drop another 75 bucks on a new toy.

That G1 Hound isn't mine at all, it's most likely Seibertron's. In case you couldn't tell, those photos are from the site gallery. Actually, I think there's at least 2 diffent G1 Hounds there because the one in Jeep mode from his individual gallery and the one from the Siege comparison pic have little to know chrome or paint wear compared to the solo robot mode pic. The fresh stickers could be Reprolabels, but that doesn't explain the difference in the chrome.
My G1 Hound for the record is really beat up: Missing both mirrors and one headlight (I lost it when taking some of his supposed-to-be-chrome parts - they were just bare ivory-color plastic - out to spraypaint them silver. Not chrome but it seemed better than bare) and IIRC one tire. His spare tire is made from a painted piece of dowel with a home-printed decal glued on, his jerry can is a gas can cut off from a rack of three fused together that were about the right size that I glued a peg to and then painted, and the stand for his machine gun (my only weapon for him) is a plasticard bodge substitute.
They also make replacement sticker sheets, reproductions of the originals in the case of G1 Transformers and enhanced reproductions of the Japanese sticker sets in the case of Power Rangers (though there have been some notable goofs there, one of which still hasn't been fixed last I saw). It's where their name comes from: Reproduction Labels. Now, they don't make simple replacement stickers for modern TFs at this time (although I think they should start doing so what with stickers having returned in a big way). But if you're dealing with a G1 toy or reissue thereof, you're good. At least unless you want Sunstreaker's headlights grumble grumble.

That sucks, you could always write to Hasbro directly and see what they say, you never know.
Ad yeah, reprolabels doesnt have the same stickers (they do for G1 toys but not for these), instead its different stickers for customizing.

Admittedly its no way near as bad as the combiner wars Hound but his lega are way too blocky that it has to stand legs spread (whare as the G1 suffers from only being to have his legs close together from blockiness...) but both wheels on each leg for the siege and the bulk for the extra weapons ports compromises the figure some what. Vehicle mode it aint hound, below the waist it aint hound, and thats the important part because thats the bit that contains the exhaust port...

Yes, yes, since thats G1 toy then reprolabels definitely has you covered.

"below the waist it ain't hound" By that logic nobody with a changed leg setup is the same character so I guess you would say Siege and Universe Sideswipe aren't Sideswipe, Universe Prowl isn't Prowl, and so on. Even if effort is put into shared details.

Just to clarify. Heck yes they do! That's how they started. Repro, as in reproduction. They are all about renovating/restoring the old toys. It wasn't until later that they got into all the fun cutom stuff, but they still produce the G1 stickers.Lore Keeper wrote:Do they make replacement stickers? I thought they just did customization.

the vehicle modes next to each other just proves my point, ones a pear and ones an apple in my eyes. Or ones a jeep and ones not quite jeep, not quite apc, not quite cybertronian, not quite Roadbuster, not quite Hound, not quite attack cruiser.
The titan master seated in it reminds me of the car in Bad Taste, so thats actually another win for the vehicle mode, just needs a sticker to go behind the clear plastic.
