The partsforming connection is what has me thinking it might be Overlord. And hey, one of Overlord's components is a tank, and he has a base mode..

Hey, it's true that the Black Shadow / Overlord mold could be retooled into Tidal Wave.
I'd be all over that.

Tidal wave doesnt partsform. You dont dissassemble his alt mode to then build his robot mode.

He's more similar to the Duocons in that he's 3 vessels that combine into 1, and from there transforms into a robot.

"Partsforming" is more used for the likes of the Siege Weaponizers and Omega Supreme, but from the latter I can see where you're going with it.

Since you can transform from the combined altmode to robot without needing to remove anything then, yeah he's definitely not a partsformer.

Actual partsformers are rather rare in the Transformers brand. Omega is rather exceptional because he did not originate as a HasTak toy.

G1 had a lot of minor partsforming, like seeker wings or Optimus' fists.

Bluestreak looks really good, it's a toss up between him and Smokescreen for best looking use of the mold.

Next Commander class figure? I'd like to see Thunderwing. He needs to happen. Sky Lynx or Star Saber are also high picks for me.

I was going to say 'I'll pick him up on sale' but realized that, being a Leader class Optimus Prime toy (even one heavily inspired by a non-G1 Optimus) that he's probably not going to shelf warm like poor Ultra Magnus.

Walmart Leader Class clearances will take care of that. Better get that Magnus, Prime's casemate will be Shockwave.

Leader would suffice for Thunderwing IMO. And Sky Lynx needs to be Titan, thanks to PotP Predaking being a smegging Titan.

The current rumor is that the next Commander class will be someone who will complement Titan class Omega, so maybe it's someone with a spaceship altmode who can attach to Omega's launchpad, like Sky Lynx or Galaxy Shuttle.

After having just gotten a new Leader class Rodimus Prime toy so recently?

Sure, he's a Prime, but he's not like Optimus who always gets new toys in the same size classes all the time in each new line.

Sure, he's a Prime, but he's not like Optimus who always gets new toys in the same size classes all the time in each new line.

Well, it's a possibility. And they did do PotP Roddy and his Deluxe Hot Rod component on the heels of TR Deluxe Hot Rod. Not the same size class, I know.

I'm personally hoping that by "armored car" they actually mean "drill tank". In other words, a proper Quickswitch.

I'm going to go on a hunch for GEEWUN pandering and say 'definitely Sky Lynx'. I just wonder how close to the original toy it will be since Sky Lynx is one of the weirdest designs out there, what with his robot mode being technically a beast mode and him being kind of a Duocon in his own way.

My money is still on Megatron's Robo-smasher, which reprogrammed the Constructicons and traumatized Omega Supreme.

I think they'll somehow combine it with another character so that they can justify a proper robot mode, but I don't know who.
