Really?

Yep. Studio Series is done for the year, Cyberverse is done until we get new spark armor reveals, and Siege wave 5 and Omega won't be till next year, and I'm not getting retail Impactor, Barricade, or Thundercracker.

It's pretty much Mirage, the Fan Vote 3-pack, Smokescreen, Bluestreak, Lancer, Cromar, Star Convoy, MP Blackarachnia, some Flame Toys and a Diaclone. And maybe Ratchet, but he isn't a priority cause I like the RiD2015 one on my shelf with Drift

Are you not in on Siege Apeface or Astrotrain? Amazon has those coming in November and December according to my pre-orders. Also, what about Rung, Singe, Rumble, Ratbat, Direct Hit and Power Punch? If wave 3 Battlemasters and wave 4 Micromasters are already out, then certainly waves 4 and 5 respectively should all be out before the end of the year.

Yeah, everything Siege is slated to be out this year, including Wave 5 and Omega (who's arguably out from some retailers). We're still doing one trilogy segment per year like with PotP, we're just getting more figures than before.

It'd be like putting Bayverse Prime into the standard Generations line. Though, if they toned the chins down, it might work ;)^

I can agree with this. animated was so good, we need more of it!

I'm going to be getting the entire wave 5 yes.

I'm going by the Pulse pre-orders, which have a pre-order date of 1/1/2020. They have shown to be more reliable. And considering the time that wave is coming out, i doubt we'll see wave 1 of 2020 for the next part of the trilogy until April next year.

and I am going to wait on a sale for Omega. He's coming out late, so I can wait until the new year to really try to get him.

I'm also going to wait some on Astrotrain too cause this is the first Leader that really doesn't seem to be worth it. Him and SS Shockwave both haven't impressed me yet for their price point.

Astrotrain is the only one with that release date, I just double-checked. Spinister, Crosshairs, and Apeface are all slated for December 1st, and I feel like all of the retail Siege stuff has shown up at brick and mortar before shipping from Pulse anyway. I can only assume that Rung and such will be out around there as well, and given past years where new line Wave 1's have shown up in November/December at some stores, I'm expecting all of them to probably show up at brick and mortar in Novemberish.

Wow!...... Typically once I obtain an item I don't look back at what it currently costs because I don't worry much, but I happened to notice on Amazon that Smashdown was selling for around $25 USD and thought...that cant be right. This is a recently released item. His wave mate Caliburst is still readily available at retail price...but nope...

Pretty much everywhere is sold out out of Smashdown, so the secondary market has taken over with price gouging... This is aspect of collecting I really don't care for. I mean for the most part, Siege items have been readily available, but every once in a while, there is seemingly a shortage of a particular item, and one never knows which its going to be. I guess I should just count myself fortunate I purchased Smashdown for the brief time he was available... Anyone know of any other Siege figures that has had seemingly lesser quantities produced?

I would assume leader Galaxy Optimus. But since demand is low, the after market price may not be that high.

It's possible, but its also still available at regular price on Pulse and most other sites. But demand as you say may be a factor as well.

My guess is when people found out how much they liked Smashdown, they jumped all over that figure and turned it into a hot ticket item, making it harder for the rest of us who haven't gotten one yet to get one at normal price.

Which is sad. I just got them both (Smashdown and Caliburst) when they first became available on Amazon, because I wasn't sure when I'd see them at retail, and it is easier for me to order less expensive items online rather than big ticket items. I recall a few weeks after getting them, seeing a whole row (probably 12) Smashdowns at a local Target and thinking...well, I guess its just as available as all the others. Obviously that didn't last long, hindsight being 20/20 and all that.

I can't imagine how crazy things are going to get with Rung. I'm not even a fan of that character, but I'd like to have all the Battlemasters for the sake of completion. In fact I find it a little odd that the most of the late Siege additions have pre-orders available, but not the Rung/Singe assortment. Perhaps, armed with this knowledge, Hasbro will do like they did last year (produce more PotP deluxe wave 2 to make up for its initial shortage), and make Smashdown a wavemate of Rung/Singe :-?

I hope so. Rung and Smashdown are the two battle masters that seem the coolest. Smashdown for the hammer mode, and Rung because, well it's the closest I'll get to owning a Primus

Actually not that odd at all. In fact I would say the opposite that it was odd that Smashdown and Caliburst did get a pre-order. I don't believe any other battlemasters had a pre-order and don't think any of the micromasters had a pre-order other than the weird Amazon Listings for the decepticon race car team and the offroad team that didn't even have photos for the longest time.

If I remember correctly for Smashdown and Caliburst, they were revealed back in February when Hasbro Pulse was introduced and most or all of the figures revealed were available for immediate pro-order such as SS Hightower, Siege Mirage and Impactor, even though they were not going to be available for about 1/2 a year. I would consider those pre-orders to be the outlier and the 2 smallest classes not having pre-orders being the norm.

Syfy Wire has posted schedule information for panels happening at New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 3rd. Relevant to our interests, we have confirmation of Hasbro's Transformers brand panel along with its start time of 11:30am Eastern Time.

The description is exciting for this one, as it promises Hasbro will unveil the new Transformers line, which most likely means our first look at War For Cybertron part 2, which will start in early 2020. Exclusive product reveals are also mentioned, so we should be in for a pretty good show. At least, we hope there's a show. The partnership with Syfy is not new this year, and their attempt at streaming the Transformers live presentation last year did not work out. Hopefully things will be smoother this time around.

Regardless, we can expect that whatever sort of fan media event Hasbro might also have planned for that day to give us nice, up close looks at whatever new items they'll be revealing, so we'll have plenty to see and talk about. But we sure hope to get to see the panel, since as the tradition has gone three years in a row, that should be our first tease at next year's Titan Class figure!

Be sure to stay with TFormers for all the Transformers news coming out of NYCC; it's just a couple weeks away!

Just in from In Demand Toys on Facebook are some official Hasbro transformation videos for some of the new Siege figures heading our way soon. Out of the four only Astrotrain and Impactor are completely brand new, with Barricade being a retool of the Prowl design and Crosshairs being a retool of Ironhide. Any fans on the fence about getting Crosshairs or Barricade should take a moment to watch these as they give great all around views of the figures and show just how different they are from their predecessors. As always enjoy the views and share your thoughts with the Seibertron crew in the forum, and stay tuned to Seibertron for the ultimate in Transformers news!

Soooo, uh...that was Astrotrain. :-?

I can't express how much I want to love that figure but I just can't get over how they handled, or maybe didn't handle, the rear end of that shuttle mode. I'm no toy designer BY FAR but, like, couldn't there be another couple panels there? Rats. The original was one of my faves as a kid the whole concept of a triple changer triple blew my mind.

And normally I dig these transformation videos but did anyone notice how fiddly the train mode seemed with this guy? I mean he didn't even get it to sit all flat on the surface before ending the video. I was like oh ok well, ok, it probably isn't supposed to do that but, ok.

This I have to unfortunately say I'm gonna have to pass on. Maybe discounted deep but otherwise, can't do it. His guns look freaking rad but the rest just isn't there for me. And the backpack? You mean the empty box? I'm sorry I can't help it. It couldn't maybe fold a little into some ... something? No just a three sided hollow box for...armor?

It's probably super train armor, the most loco of all known armors

I noticed on Impactor's alt mode that the person wasn't successful in tabbing the flipped up chest panel into its folded in arms. Worse was that the person didn't even go back and try to do it once the "treads" were all flipped into place, leaving the tabs quite noticeable after fully transformed into alt mode. I truly hope this is more of a "passed over" incident for the short vid and not an issue for the actual figure.

New headcannon, swindle sells the weapons, Astrotrain delivers, an awesome partnership

YES! I love that. He's a gun runner. Perfect alt mode for it.

Worse was that the person didn't even go back and try to do it once the "treads" were all flipped into place, leaving the tabs quite noticeable after fully transformed into alt mode. I truly hope this is more of a "passed over" incident for the short vid and not an issue for the actual figure.

If they're trying to nudge in on the video reviewer 'joy of watching someone transformer a Transformer you don't have' market they do need to step up their game just a hair. To be so precise with all the movements of the parts to then not tab it all in properly is kinda, ehhhh, come on now

While I too am not a fan of the "coal car" becoming a box on Astrotrain's back, I think because of all the hinges on it that the sides can be folded flat against Astrotrain's back. Still annoying, but perhaps not as big of a backpack eyesore.

But in all honesty, I really wish the engineers at Hasbro could've figured out a way to not have the "coal car" (of course that means no launchpad for shuttle mode). Instead they could've used that amount of plastic to cover that gap towards the end in shuttle mode. It would've taken less plastic and still could've fit on Astrotrain's back (if it were not attached permanently) without being too obnoxious of a backpack. But I guess they needed to leave something for those geniuses over at Shapeways to do Hasbro's job for them.
