I honestly didn't pick Rung as a custom base because of the character, yeah. He's just the mold that fits. However its really funny for me to joke about 'defacing someone's self-insert' with sandpaper or a dremel tool like I'm some sort of mutilating maniac! Truthfully I'm hardly someone who hate 100% IDW, what with wanting Thunderclash when, lets be real, nobody cared about Thunderclash before IDW comics.

Nice. I’ll have to try that.

Is anyone else’s Ratchet super loose? I didn’t pick up Ironhide and I know tightness varies from figure to figure, but he’s definitely the loosest Siege figure I own.

The waist is fairly loose, much looser than Ironhide. Everything else seems normal/acceptable. Fortunately the waist doesn't affect any of the poses or transformation. Alt mode is fine because of the side panes and such.

I can't put a finger on it, but I prefer Ratchet over Ironhide in this mold.

I got Ratchet first and he is pretty tight. Got Ironhide after and was surprised by how loose the hips feel.

Hm. Maybe it’s just mine then. In addition to the waist, my Ratchet’s knees (especially) and elbows are less-than-desirably tight. My only real quality issue with a Siege figure so far (well, considering I did a minor preventative fix on Slamdance, so I don’t count him).

QC is always a dice roll. You can always try and find another and return the loose one. I do that all the time after checking the new one and doing any part swaps 8-)

My Ratchet is fine. Its Ironhide who has joints too tight.

My Ratchet has perfectly solid joints, not loose and not too tight. He holds a pose without any issue, and I never feel like I'm forcing anything during transformation between modes. My Ironhide is the same, except for the leg panels that like to pop off. That issue got better once I used the small screwdriver trick to help widen the holes slightly for the friction pegs. Ratchet's leg panels have never popped off. He's a solid figure through and through. :)

I happened to find Barricade in stores after work, and I gotta say, in hand, he definitely looks better. Not sure I'll get him though, but I do feel better about possibly picking up Smokescreen

I’m really happy with Smokescreen. I agree with others that the mold is one of the worst from Siege, but it’s not bad overall. The racing paint looks great on the alt mode and the fact he came with three weapons is a win in my book.

Smokescreen's deco is really great, fun and sporty, but I have to give the "who wore it best" award to Bluestreak. That deco is just pure sex. Everyone else has made it to shelves, but Streak is still camping out on my desk. :x

Went to the dentist and stopped at the Walgreen's next door. I saw these three with Ratchet kinda tossed back in the shelf sorta hidden like. I already got mine and with him out of stock online I decided to leave him for another lucky individual.
Seeing the single Refraktor makes me wonder if anyone picked up just one besides kids and parents who wouldn't know about the combined camera mode.

I live in a smaller market, but I’ve never seen more than one Refraktor at once anywhere. My closest Walgreens currently has one and I‘ve been debating whether or not to pick him up. I have the Reconnaissance Team set, but would really like all decos. :D

I have the reconnaissance team and 3 of the regular release (yeah, I like to army build, especially cons). I'd say go for it. The regular release is a really nice deco, plus you can have the regular release be the photographer when the other 3 are in camera mode.

My suggestion as well.

Also, I got Ratchet but yet to release him, but I can already see the leg panel popping off, just like Ironhide. :(

I'd free him and see if it is anything to worry about. By all accounts that I've seen (and my own ratchet) the leg panel issues seemed to have been resolved. I wonder if they might have tied the plastic strap a little too tight on your figure and that is the reason it might be popping off in package.

I saw that exact same load out at my Walgreens and have heard of similar reports of Reflector being found. I'd assume Walgreens has their own case variant for Siege. I don't hunt Walgreens often, but I haven't seen Siege figures there until Ratchet showed up.

I've seen multiple Reflectors at both Walmart and Target. IIRC, they were packed two to a case for standard retail.

I can highly recommend any of the Reflectors, I also have both. It's fun mold by itself, but really shines when you have three.

No worries on Ratchet's leg panels. They tab on perfectly and don't come off even when tugged. Pull hard enough and they will of course. Hasbro fixed the issue with Ratchet. Enjoy, he's the better of the two ;)^

I originally passed on Ironhide and a few others in Siege due to personal preference. However, considering Earthrise is eschewing the Cybertronian alt modes for Earth modes, I’m debating picking up a few Siege bots I didn’t get. I like Ratchet - thoughts on Ironhide as a whole?

I recently purchased both Ratchet and Ironhide and I don't have any problems with leg panels as others have mentioned. Both figures have good weapons too, not your typical guns.

It's a big, beefy well scaled to the rest of the Siege cast mold. Transformation has some neat tricks and pegs in nicely. My leg panels pop off easily, but when pegged into the side of the leg or alt mode it's a none issue. Looks spot on and is your best CHUG option. I will say alt mode seems a little week, but gets the job done. I do wish the windshield was a smokey grey. The hammer/rifle is cool and works well with the posabilty of bot mode. Click here to see some pics, poses and my initial thoughts.

Here's a pic of Ironhide break dancing.

Image

I can't put a finger on why, but I feel Ratchet wears the mold much better. If you're on the fence, it might be worth a wait to see if a Earth mode gets announced.
