I don't.
Same, not a big fan of him as an evil Datsun brother. I'm fine with him sticking to his cybertronian form or being a repaint of one of the other cars like Sunstreaker. Then they could mix his light bar with Sunstreaker's head and give us Cordon as a Selects figure.

Given that we finally have a properly colored Lionizer coming I'd rather have his Rad partially inspired repaint first. Plus I feel like Hasbro would have a really hard time not using the name Crosswise on a Battle Master ramp.

Is the problem that the rotors won't stay in a V shape, or the V shape flops around? If it's the latter, there should be a tab on the tail assembly that goes through the panel on his back fits into a grove in the V shaped rotors. It can be pretty loose if the back panel isn't pushed in all the way.

Well, without the blue stripe it's just a Rad-based redeco and not specifically a redeco based on the Rad-inspired Smokescreen redeco of Smokescreen (which is the figure you specifically referred to)Emerje wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:The problem with that is that duplicating the Rad-inspired redeco would be too similar to Smokescreen.

Here are some more things to consider:
* Joe Kyde's decision to base the particulars of Cybertron Smokescreen's deco on Rad was no doubt inspired by Crosswise's head coincidentally looking rather like Rad's, but that particular head is Crosswise's first.
* Crosswise is a show character, which makes him a more likely reference
* Smokescreen getting a Crosswise redeco would be funny, because of the kerfuffle with that being Crosswise's working name for so long it actually got into the dub scripts
* While the new Datsun mold sorta works for Rad, his helmet and vestigial vehicle parts seem to more suggest a motorcycle than they do a car. Crosswise, who was definitely a car is a more solid match for the mold.
Mind you, I wouldn't personally be interested in a Crosswise redeco since it would be watered-down and show-inaccurate. But I think him more likely. I'd be slightly more interested in a Rad redeco, but then again the existing homage isn't that hard to come by.
Possibilities that would interest me more:
* A taxi redeco (even if 2-door is a bit small for a taxi, it would be novel), ideally a Decepticon (just for the sake of giving us more 'Cons)
* Belatedly giving Prowl and/or Bluestreak G2 colors
* Cyb. Galvatron key, missiles
* Omega Lock
* Primus Cyber Key, coattail panel
* Powerlinx Comettor
* Leader Sentinel Prime sword, shield
* RiD Galvy dragon head, beast arms
* Leader Ironhide windshield, R hood assy.
* Cyb. Wing Saber left chestplate (argh)

I didn't realize people thought Rad was a motorcycle until now, I've never even considered it a possibility. His chest looks like anyone other Action Master that turns into a car and his head is pretty similar to Jackpot's (another character I'd love to see get a proper figure) who is an obvious car.
Then again, the way War for Cybertron has been going so far, especially with Earthrise, it does feel like we could see a new Wreck-gar soon. Not that we need one, but that could make for a fitting retool for Rad if they were to stick with a bike.

I think we do need a new Wreck-Gar. Neither the RTS nor PotP version is cartoon-accurate, and neither of them is really the right size to be dueling with SIEGE Springer.

That's valid. A lot of people had issues with the RTS mold breaking and I don't believe makeshift Combiner Wars characters really work well outside of a CW setting. He'd have to be a really tall Deluxe (can't see them making a Voyager motorcycle), but maybe if they can reduce his parts count enough they could manage that.

And don't forget the big honking head. That's what disappoints me about the PotP figure. Everything else is pretty good but his head is waaaay too tiny. Gotta have a big ol' dome with handlebars.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I think they might go for it in Wreck-Gar's case, since he's a movie character. His design has enough meat on the bones for it to work, and it would ensure he was not only the right size but had both his axe and his wheel shield and maybe even his gun.

I could really see this happening, just for the sheer cheekiness of it. Cybertron Crosswise, planned name Smokescreen, out of a Smokescreen.
