Is the Siege one worth having? No Earthrise or later one in the pipeline?

The main issue people have with them is that most of them are barely-changed versions of figures that were just on the toy shelves a few months ago that are now taking up much of the space that could instead be taken by the all new figures from Earthrise, which for many are currently harder to find at Walmarts than the Netflix figures.G1OptimusPAX wrote:Yes the netflix version Megatron is SOOOO much better because of the paint and its so sweet... and honestly, I don't understand people's gripes about these redecos. I mean, no ones telling you to buy every version, i like the fact that there are so many options.

I actually agree with the OP on this one. I'd much rather have had 2 more waves of new unique Earthrise, than a bunch of redecos of stuff already released, no matter how nice they are. Yes I did get a couple of them, but they were all new to me ( didn't purchase original siege versions), but again, I'd much rather have more new product.

At least they did some sort of repaint for the Netflix figures. Hasbro could have rereleased the very same figure, paint and all, with the Teletraan 1 pieces and there would have been plenty of people who would have bought them just for the piece of cardboard (he said as he looked in the mirror).sol magnus wrote:o.supreme wrote:cruizerdave wrote:I just don't care for any of this Netflix exclusive stuff. Problem is, this wasn;t some fly by night plan, they have to support the show - so it makes sense they'd have something on shelves. I wish the "normal" line was used to support the show, but they caught lighting in a bottle and did what they did.
I got all the deluxes, but I've not opened any of them. I have them all already.I got Megatron, and gave the original to my son. And I agree with the guy who said no one says you gotta buy them. It's the company's job to sell toys, but it's our job to police what we buy, hard as that is sometimes.

Let me tell you what I mean... im in my early 40's, I dont have time to stay out in front of stores waiting for the doors to open to get first crack at the shelves being stocked... sometimes those same figures that take up space, the new shipment will be in the back and I will have a rep (from the store) scan the price label and if there are more numbers of figures then on the floor, then I have the rep go to the back stock room and they bring the stock out for me to see and majority of the time, they are what I'm looking for.
I bought cliff jumper, wheel jack, hoist and iron works right from the inventory box at the Sametime on the same day at around 4pm. So what I'm saying is, I am glad we have all of these variations because if we didn't, there would be MAD collectors buying multiples of the same figure and sale them for high prices online... and I usually only order online for hard to track down figures and 3rd party. So thank GOD for these variations. They DEFINITELY work out for me.

I dont think any of that's related. You'll get these redecos and more earthrise figures. One isnt replacing the other. And its not like Walmart is behind on figures from other lines either.
o.supreme wrote:But resources had to be dedicated, and yes Walmarts in my area have no Earthrise, while they do have plenty of Netflix. It's literally the snake eating itself. A toyline is being released to support a cartoon, based in a toyline from last year.
I think Hasbro did this just to avoid criticism of releasing a cartoon who's toyline had already ended a la Combiner Wars. Sure they did a pretty good job. But imagine if in the summer of 2016, the first wave of TR was extremely scarce, and the market was flooded with New CW repaints to promote the show.

I've had decent luck asking staff to check the back.. but it's situations like this in general... as much as I enjoy the "hunt" it's... getting easier to pre-order and just getting a phat crate of sweet loot every 3-4 months.
