For me, the only downside of SIEGE Springer is his lack of a transforming sword. Everything else I'm happy with, including most of the compromises re: cartoon accuracy (angled chest instead of the erroneously rounded one, paldrons not being tilted, exposed front wheels in robot and helicopter mode, no slope on the back of paldrons) because there are good mechanical reasons for them, esp. on a retail toy - and I like them better than the compromises made by the 3P versions.
Rumor has it there's going to be a "clean" version released in Studio Series, but Idk if that's gonna prove true.
I personally didn't have a hard time figuring out his transformation. The best way I can explain it is, I knew what his altmodes were supposed to look like - and with that in mind, I was able to visualize how to get the pieces from their robot mode position to where they went in the vehicle modes.
