Weapons in general or weapons that shoot stuff that's easily lost/choked on?

Just in general. Unless they become part of the alt-mode, I just find them to be more of a nuisance than anything. Or some stupid gun sticking out of a car.

Interesting. I completely disagree with you, primarily because they're alien robots who have been fighting a war for millions of years, so to me they're expected to have weapons.

I'm not a fan of them being incorporated into the alt mode as more often than not it doesn't really work.

But hey, you are the first person to say that about weapons so I had to inquire.

Objectively, you're right. And I agree that they should have weapons. But in altmode, I just get irritated. Like. Dreadwind is a good example. I don't have a way to put everything in alt mode that looks good AND is balanced.

Special Ops Jazz and Tracks/Wheeljack did it in a way that I approve of, though.

Absolutely 100% agree with this. I love Dreadwind, and for me, things need to be symmetrical, one gun doesn't cut it, not to mention it REALLY ruins the whole "robots in disguise" notion.

Otherwise it's all good. And with the amount of partsforming they're trying to acclimate us to it seems like the perfect line for Omega Supreme.

I believe it was said that the wheels on Ultra Magnus' vehicle mode could actually move around a slight bit to transform into a hovercar carrier. Similar to how the vehicle modes in the Cybertron games (funnily enough :-? ) could transform a slight bit to allow for more wide range when it came to travel, rather than speed.

All these guys look amazing, especially Hound and Ultra Magnus. Only one I'm not excited about is Optimus, but he's been hit and miss lately. I wonder if we'll get an actual Cliffjumper...

Weapon: Hip-Mounted Launchers
I have to say that while this isn’t the direction I thought this new line was supposed to be going in, I’m intensely excited by these previews. I’ve been wanting more transforming weapons for a while now, and I always thought that muzzle flash and laser effects would be amazing, but frankly never imagined they’d actually happen. I liked the Titan Masters quite a bit, but those vehicle-to-weapon figures weren’t exactly what I wanted. They didn’t really scratch that itch. I feel like these will. And I’m loving the level of detail on these figures. It reminds me of the quality of sculpting we used to see in the Generations line, back in ‘09/‘10.

Nothing kills a line for me more than a terribly executed gimmick. Especially ones that impede the actual figures. This is absolutley the kind of gimmick I can get behind though. On a side note, now I’m wondering if William-James and company has ever done a top five list for best/worst gimmicks. If not, that’s a list I’d really like to see. I could go on and on about how a particular line wide gimmick either spoiled or saved a line of toys for me.

I’m not 100% on board with the battle damage yet. I’m more like 80% in on it. It’s a little heavy and distracting in areas. Especially since the rest of the figure looks shiney and pristine. I like the idea, not sold on the execution yet, but I’ll probably come around.

All in all I think this is a very promising new line. I’m hoping the quality of the figures stands up, and that this is a return to the level of detail and quality that we used to get. Before the lines started getting smaller, lighter, started having less paint and tampos, and become increasingly hollow.

Can’t wait to see which decepticons we’re getting.

They may show more TF Siege at SDCC.

I love the Ultra Magnus, Chromia, Cog and Ironhide. Seeing Chromia won't be a combiner then there might not be any combiners in Siege at all. I love combiners. Oh well...

I hope there will be an Arcee (deluxe) and Shockwave (voyager).

Liking lots of stuff, more than the POTP line so far. Ironically, UM would've made a better fit for the POTP gimmick.

Any decepticons on the horizon at SDCC?

I hope we get clean stock images soon like we did with Sideswipe and Optimus.

Anyway my thoughts:

Hound: Looks pretty good, will be getting since I missed out on the previous Generations versions

Battle Master Lionizer: Wish he had some more colour but nice

Micromasters two packs: Really nice update, hopefully the missing members will be done later

COG: Looks insane, at least he has some sort of alt mode

Ironhide: Getting some TR Kup vibes of him but maybe finally we will get a decet Generations Ironhide

Chromia: Not pushed about this one

Ultra Magnus: I really don't need another Magnus but it looks so good :BANG_HEAD:

I think it was Gasket and Grommet...if I spelled them correctly. I was thinking the same thing when I saw Cog....he will go great with my Fort Max...

I'm glad I'm done collecting for the year...gives me time to save up. It's been a while since I have collected a whole series, which I believe was reveal the shield. All of these are a buy for me, except for Chromia, maybe, simply because I don't have the other fembots. All "battlemasters" and micromasters are bought on site...

Nice find! Glad to get some confirmation of the tetrajets. Little concerned that Prowl looks chunkier than Ironhide, though... maybe it's artistic license?

OK, my opinions on the line have completely 180'd.

Optimus, seeing his actual toy, looks pretty good. Not sure I'd buy him, but he looks good.

Sideswipe also looks much better. Might go for him.

Hound looks nice, I like the details inherited from the FOC model like the gizmos on the back of the jeep mode.

Ironhide looks superb, I adore that weapon especially.

Chromia looks a bit of a letdown, given she's just Moonracer without the combiner feature. Probably a pass as I intend to get Moonracer.

Cog looks incredible, and even though I have zero interest in TR Fort Max I want him.

Lionizer looks cool, not sure I'll get him but he's aight.

The Micromasters look like a lot of fun, and them coming in two-packs is cool. Reminds me of the Armada Mini-con three-packs.

And then there's Ultra Magnus. Easily the best thing to come out of the line. No joke, some awful QC messup or design flaw we don't know about aside, he looks absolutely perfect and I want him more than I've wanted any official TF in a long time.

I love the exhaust effect on Sideswipe in the display
https://static.seibertron.com/images/to ... 18566.jpeg

But the Lionizer product image only has a single part. I can't imagine buying two of them to recreate that scene.
https://static.seibertron.com/images/to ... 18566.jpeg

I'm glad Firedrive has two of the effects parts. I'll want one on Optimus, and I can put the figure with PotP Rodimus, so that has some versatility.

This is what Hasbro said at the panel:

Removing the gimmick element Prime Wars moved into paying attention to the characters, in terms of posability, articulation and more in the engineering, as the weaponising element of Micro and Battle Masters allow for playability.
