Yeah, know what? This works out very well. There's a few things I'd personally change - namely the head could look a little better and I wish the doors weren't under the arms like that; looks very cheap, wish it was on the side - but all in all this looks like a fantastic Jazz toy. Can't wait

I think if I saw Jazz in more of a neutral pose I might warm up to him but as is I'm using Takara Adventures Jazz as my Classics Jazz and he works really nice. But he does appear to be a pretty good IDW Jazz.

But those wouldnt work with their ecosystem.
For TR, the Legends Class was never labelled as part of the ecosystem. It went, TM, deluxe, voyager and Leader. So they could add TM integration or not. Plus they had some that worked with the tapedecks and others that didnt.
But for POTP, its 100% part of it, so a rerelease of older toys who cant interact with the gimick has less chances of happening.

Eh, no reason they have to stick so strictly to it. After all, every figure in TR had at least some token way of interacting with Titan Masters, even if it was just a very bad single peg that didn't even work well -- until they broke that trend by re-releasing Cosmos.

Re: Transformers Power of the Primes Leaks, Rumours, Reveals, and More
Cosmos as a re-issue was the ONLY Titans Returns Legends class not to have some cross-interaction of some kind.
And I so want some more data pads - even if they have to sell them in giftsets to get them out - I want loads and loads and loads of them and then maybe towards the end of the line they can sneak out a Twincast or a Soundblaster as well.

Starscream has Combiner ports, definetly... and it may just be me, but those black hinged flaps on Rodimus' shoulders look a lot like they could be hiding combiner ports, hell his strangely-proportioned feet (ala Starscream) do as well... and Jazz definetly has a combiner port in his chest (as well as the attachment point for feet/hands under his left foot - check the official renders) so maybe Roddy and Screamer will be able to combine gimmick on top of gimmick... hell even Skullgrin looks like a murder arm that needs to be attached to some shoulder somewhere...
...back in my day, you had one alt-mode. ONE! Articulation? why, if you had enough articulation to transform, you had plenty. And if you wanted more articulation, you know what you did about it? NOTHING. You transformed, stood there with your faceplate closed, and your optics sharp, just like everybody else who didn't have ball-jointed this, and swivel-jointed that. And when your were told to, you transformed and rolled out! ...And another thing...

I could see Skullgrin being attached as an arm-weapon, giving a combiner a wolverine claw sort of thing.

Re: Transformers Power of the Primes Leaks, Rumours, Reveals, and More
I suspect that the 'Easter Eggs' are something like this :
PrimeMasters (figures) : act as a Powermaster like thing officially - unofficially they are also heads
PrimeMaster (shells) Officially they are hand held weapons - unofficially they are likely also combiner hand replacements - and perhaps feet and in some situations even chests too. As well as being able to act as Armour on a combiner torso where the transformation allows (in the places that it's supposed to got in default robot mode of said individual like Starscream
Deluxes & Primemasters - it seems the Hand-foot-gun equivalent can also allow a Headmaster/Titanmaster/Primemaster to plug in - and one might hazzard a guess they can remain in place in hand and foot modes too (not sure if they have a weapon mode too - they may be acting more like a harness pretending to be an engine block this time and not a gun as such.
It seems looking at the Deluxes that they have a hinge on the heads allowing them to fold back or forwards something as simple as an legacy Titanmaster neck connector under there would both allow the Prime-master to be plugged in there in vehicle mode on some Transformations (like Dreadwing) and perhaps also act as a Prime-master head too.
One might speculate that some Legends have an opening storage bay that can store a Prime-Master folded up (as well as seated) like Seaspray does. and so they can be become a form of Powermaster essentially.
Leaders - I think leaders have a hidden base mode as well as possible mix-and match compatibility on the primary parts - likely inspired by Overlord perhaps.
Those would be my guesses though.

I'm not seeing it. Skyquake/Dreadwing had downswept wings. It'd be easier to make a new mold. I'd actually prefer the original Skyquake than Prime. And maybe a King Atlas and Machine Wars Starscream.
EDIT: Just looked at his back, and a retool would work, but it'd be kind of awkward.

They are the feet of the deluxe figure component (Hot Rod)

WOWY ZOWY! Lots has happened. I was away on a thing and man, I could barely keep up! All caught up now.
I like what i'm seeing. Really digging the evolution of the gimmicks, and the idea of unifying all the lines of the trilogy. They didn't really show enough for me to form too many opinions, nor did they give it all away, so I'm excited to see what else there is to see from these toys.
It seems like we are all pretty convinced that Starscream has hidden combiner capability. Something I noticed that I think further reinforces that is:

The way that piece that looks to be a port in SS's leg is bent at an angle makes me wonder if that piece is hinged for more knee articulation. Could just be a part of transformation though too. But that certainly looks like it could be the thigh of a combiner.
All seemed pretty put off by SS's proportions, but I like 'em. Giving me some nice Arron Archer era feels. I don't mind if my toys look like toys.
There was some Dinobot talk a few pages back. I'd be fine if they became a combiner team, but what I'm most happy about is that they are almost certain to have a cockpit for the TMs/PMs. I hope that old Diaclone feature is worked into their update.
Also just a bit of whimsy, but if they did combine, I think it'd be cool if they combined into a giant dinosaur instead of a man shaped robot. Probably won't, but it would be cool.

All in all, I like what I see. Love the tiny Pretenders idea. Excited to learn more about the gimmicks and the line.

I think those flaps are Deluxe Rod's feet, but who knows what's under them, besides some sweet dance moves.Fuhzimota wrote:Starscream has Combiner ports, definitely... and it may just be me, but those black hinged flaps on Rodimus' shoulders look a lot like they could be hiding combiner ports

Ok, I've been consciously away to avoid being overloaded with SDCC info. From what I understand:
Prime Master Class is the continuation of Titan Master Class, with the 13 turning into heads and coming with Pretender Shell vehicles.
Legends Class has no real changes from previous lines
Deluxe Class has reverted to the Combiner gimmick along with Voyager Class.
Leader Class has the gimmick of the line, with each figure having two forms.
Is that it in a nutshell?

Yeah, something like that. It looked awkward. Might be better as an HFG, unless we are supposed to reuse HFG from other CW figures...

Just like the way the Pretender shell has horns that function as twin thumbs - this also has 2 thumbs too - so they don't have a single movable one like before.m it does look like it's on a single hinge and also has a 5mm hole in it. Maybe those docking ports can sit on some of the Legends class toys too.

Looking more closely at rear-view pictures of Rodimus Prime, that backpack looks to be there purely as an optional way of avoiding it being loose baggage - it doesn't seem to be integrated into the evolved mode at all, so it should be detachable.

No. It looks to me like his chest is the bottom of the Titan Master cockpit. The arms look like the slide down to give better sheep clearance. His waist might have the same collapsible thing going on that Wheelie had to elongate the vehicle mode. But I ask not. Seeing an actual gimmick. Just mechanics for transformation

Anyways. I feel like I'm 12 years too late to comment, but Leader Roddy. It's the Roddy I've wanted since I was 4. I'm even one of the few who don't hate MP-9, but it's not something you can PLAY with. If this new Leader is that, I'll be over the moon
EXACTLY, Shaj!! Hot Rod can finally, "Rise, Rodimus Prime...."

Yay someone agrees! I was worried this was 20 pages of Roddy hate that I hadn't readbodrock wrote:EXACTLY, Shaj!! Hot Rod can finally, "Rise, Rodimus Prime...."shajaki wrote:.....................

*tries to wrap her head around how Rodimus Prime works*
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, I see. According to offical renders, the trailer does detach. And clever clever, it forms part of the Rodimus Prime robot form! From the looks of it, the trailer forms the arms and legs, with Hot Rod forming the core.
:EDIT: I'm also guessing there's partforming involved, with the Prime arms attaching to Hot Rod's legs.

That is a neat idea, but I doubt it's possible, considering the pile of design fail Rodimus is. No, there isn't 20 pages of Roddy hate, but there is several posts of intense dislike.Cobotron wrote:There was some Dinobot talk a few pages back...but if they did combine, I think it'd be cool if they combined into a giant dinosaur instead of a man shaped robot. Probably won't, but it would be cool.
And I still say if the Dinos can combine, Sludge should be the body so they could be accurate scale-wise.
Also, I'm changing my stance on Jazz from pass to get.
