UNICRON AND PRIMUS

Discuss anything about the Transformers cartoons and comics! You can discuss anything from G1 to Cybertron as well as the comics from Marvel, Dreamwave, IDW and more!

I really don't understand why all this arguing about correct continuty I mean this fiction so everyone can believe what he want if hasbro believes IDW is the correct G1 story doesn't mean you have to ignore the other stories. You can choose to to cosider canon whaterever everyone wants.

Each continuity needs to be treated as just that.

Different continuity, different rules.

Trying to define everything under one umbrella will just end up giving you a headache with the numerous plot holes.

I hope I didn't help this confusion Eradicator. As I say, you just have to treat each series with their own rules. Even G1 toon, Marvel, DW and IDW need their own set of respective rules.

Coherant Transformers canon is like trying to write the Unified Field Theory.

However, these quandries, as well as those presented by the Golden Disk, are something I am hoping totackle in a fanfic...

:-?
He's got some pretty far-out powers to go along with them, too, including teleportation, the projection of trippy telepathic visions and illusions, and the ability to groove on the language of 98% of all known species. Trying to write the Unified Field Theory? :)) I don't think it's that hard, The Ultimate Guide did a pretty good job of it.
Good luck on your fan-fic though.

Here's the way I see things.

Primus = God.

Unicron = Satan.

The Matrix = Heaven.

The Pit = Hell.

All the time paradoxes and junk = jumping between parallel universes. ('Sliders' ripoff, I think?)
Life can be pretty sweet when your alt-mode is a B-2 Stealth Bomber.

And for those of you who are wondering... I'M A GIRL!

I'm not prejudiced; I hate everyone equally.

The Ultimate Guide was good, but I still feel it lacked a certain something...

Anyway.

Incidentally those interested in said fanfic, can check it (and others) out here:

I apologise for the poor formatting, I have yet to work out that sites code.

I agree with about the Ultimate Guide....it left me with too many unanswered questions.

Well ok you are not arguing but I see long post saying the same thing again and again I don't see it to get somewhere. The transformers stories are chaoting with all this different continuties. The best thing would be to see it seperatly but the problem comes with transformers universe and cybertron ballacing act, both are trying unite all stories in a multiverse by saying unicron and primus exist in every transformers universe. So you can either choose to ignore it or you fill the gap with theories and fan fiction.

It is posible to have very long convercations about the same thing with out letting it digress into a fight.The way I see it there's no single definitive G! Universe.

While the Ultimae Guide did leave some unanswered questions, that is simply becasue the answers to those questions had yet to be answered in the stories themselves. In particular, many of those questions were to be answered by the Dreamwave series—particularly MicroMasters, Age of Wrath, and the ongoing G1 series—which was cut short before these questions could be answered. Much of TF lore, and their history, is still being written, thus, questions must remain unanswered until every story is told.

My biggest question is why they didnt explain why the Dino-Bots had Dino-modes in the Dreamwave Univers all so knowen as the defintive G1 universe.You'd think that even with the fall of Dreamwave they would have been able to put that into the 2nd eddition or the Ultimae Guide.

Actually, they did. It was explained in issue #8 of the ongoing series. Grimlock and the Dinobots followed the Insecticons to Earth millions of years ago, looking for the lost Autobots, They took on the dinosaur modes back then, and were ambushed by the Insecticons, who had not taken on Earth modes yet. The Dinobots defeated them, and it was believed they destroyed them, but the Insecticons somehow survived, though they remained in hiding. I haven't read the first miniseries, so I don't know the exact details involving the awakening of the Dinobots by Megatron in modern times.

It happens in the first miniseries produced by Dreamwave. Unfortunately, I don't have that miniseries, I just know a little about it from what I gleened from the Ultimate Guide and from other research I've done. I don't know the whole story though, unfortunately. I would love to get my hands on a copy of a TPB of the miniseries.

Fortunately, I DID get that comics series, and what happens is that a bunch of corrupt government dudes hijack some Autobots and Decepticons and reactivate them. Grimlock gets disheartened with the Autobots trying to protect a race that disrespects them and joins the Decepticons. Eventually, he joins back up with the Autobots. Long story.

I never said you didn't. I don't hold personal gridges Damolisher. I don't take any debates personal, nor do I make them personal. Your information about the first miniseries was quite helpful. It's really the only thihg I'm missing.

You got some of the info mixed up.....I have both the mini's and the Trade's[I might have some extra if you want maybe we can work out a trade].....but to give it to you as short as I can....................G1 Dreamwave story;
The Autobots and Decepticon are awaken in 1984 their war renewed.At some point the Autobots find the Dinobots [this is knowen from dialogue from Jass in issue #8 of the ongoinand they rejoin the war to protect humans from the Decpticons[this is knowen due to some dialogue between Prime and Grimlock in the first mini].Some years later[not sure how many right now but I think it was 1996]the world goverments join together with the Autobots to stop the Decpticon once and for all and they suceed.....but a secret goverment group wants control of the Decp's.Knowing that Prime would never let that happen they plant a bomb on the ARK 2 and let the Bot's take the Con's back to cybertron with some earth emmisaries Sparkplug ammong them and then blow it up just before it leaves orbit.One of the secret gov group....the one who invented the program to control TF's....took off inserch of any Tf's hecould find so he could control them and sell them at auction[ebay lol] to terrorists.Using Megatron as an exsample of his program first then a small group of bot's and con's.Of cours Megatron comes out of it then de-programs his con's and one bot.....Grimlock so maybe thats where you got the idea about Meg's reviving the dinos.

That's quite possible because, as I have said, I don't have that miniseries and, unfortuately, have never been able to get my hands om a copy to even read it. I just know a few smattering details from secondary sources, and even those are vague.
