Im pretty sure its still the same thing were getting. With a release set for January, its a little too late to make changes. If he was saying his figure was misassembled, they were all probably put together wrong. Similar to the botcon hoist last year. I plan to watch his review and fix mine before I even attempt to transform it. Lucky thing he gets it for free. But he does provide a good service. I wish more reviews would focus helping those who own the figure rather than just promoting them through retailers. I hate it when they review the transformation backwards. Hopefully he reviews it right out of the box and guides us through all the potential hazzards.

I agree. Lots of "reviews" of Third party figures feels like advertisement these days. When's the last time we've seen a bad review on an advance prototype?
In fairness they do point out the issues but reassures us that they'll be fixed in the production runs.

It's possible Jizai was contracted/paid for his work and that he's the primary engineer behind UT's offering, but either way they do look very similar in how they function. I've seen a couple of his designs that bear a striking resemblance to some of FP's releases. It makes one wonder...

I thought someone mentioned that Jizai was working with FP. Meh, it's hard to keep track. Gimme cool looking transforming toys, and I'm happy most of the time! (I will not be happy if someone steals a design, say from ShapeWays. I'm looking at you, Guilty. o_O )

can anyone dumb down/translate what peaugh said was wrong with the hinge because he just kinda threw up that whole explanation and I really didn't understand what the problem was exactly or how he fixed it. I love peaugh but he should have shown how he fixed it rather than tell after the fact.... felt a bit like an accounting course all over again.... etc.

Most of these guys doing the before release 3rd party video reviews. Say they get early test shots to almost finished test shot. None of them get finished final toy versions.

I believe that in the past they've always just been factory samples of the actual product 'leaked' by factory workers and sold in the darker places of the internet and such if you knew who to get them from (formerly ebay, but I think the companies may have put a stop to that).

In fact, I recall a podcast Vangelus did a while back explaining how a lot of these toys are acquired early by reviewers and such and it had nothing to do with test shots.

I wouldnt be suprised. Back in the KO toys days, I once had a IM conversation with "Mike". He told me he heard the CHMS factory and others like it made car parts by day, toys by night. Im sure factory supervisors steal figures and sell them. As long as the furfill the order, whos going to stop them from producing their own copies ?

Exactly. I'm pretty sure that's how it works. Now that said, this does happen with test shots and such as well, but those are produced much earlier in the process (not days or weeks before release, but often many months prior to release, and seldom in the accurate/official colors) and don't include the packaging and instructions and such (usually they're just loose, not even in a bag or anything). I bought a bunch of Beast Wars test shots off of a particular seller on ebay and I'm pretty sure he was a factory worker because he had test shots of tons of different toys, most of which were Hasbro products.

Im so tempted to ship my loot now, but I think I will hold out until g2 bruticus set comes in. I want it in hand before I preorder the takara version.

I was pretty much planning not to get this Galvatron, mainly due to the wrists/elbows thing. But then I saw more pictures and video reviews, and I finally caved. Even with the wierd wrists, you can still get him in some sweet poses, and the rest of him looks absolutely wicked to me. Any looseness I think can always be fixed by nail polish or careful application of super glue. I'm not too worried about QC issues, especially after being made aware of what to be careful of thanks to those reviewers.

I'm excited, there is a lot for me to like in this figure. The Head, the shoulders, the back spike, the wicked alt mode, the legs, the red ab detailing. Some of you have issues with the way the cannon looks, and I can understand that, but I have no problem with it being styled and coloured differently as it ties in with the other light gray parts and has more detailing than the orignal.

I want to buy this but something keeps holding me back. I think I need to see it in hand first.

Yeah, I was going for the check out a buddy's but I can easily see where my original post would lead you. Lol. Guess I should stop posting while driving.

My package was scheduled for delivery today. When I checked the UPS Tracking number a few minutes ago. I got a big surprise. My package is delayed due to the snow weather. So now I've got to wait another day or few to get this package. I'm just hoping the delay doesn't cause UPS to damage the items inside. As UPS is known to rush things & crush packages in the process. This delayed package has Mania King & the SXS Blitzwing add ons. I'll keep everyone posted on this shipping delay.
